The mansion located on the outskirts of City A had many rooms in it. The chosen who were discarded by the creator were allowed to roam about all the rooms, but they were never allowed into one specific room.
It was a dark place with only a single light shining down on a man sitting on a throne. He had his head rested on his hand as he watched the door of the room with an impassive gaze.
What a boring life he was living. To be confined to his room every day because he had grown tired and bored of humanity. This man was the very first of the chosen. The one that showed the most potential among all the people that went into the future as well as the one that had the greatest hatred for the creator for throwing him away like trash.
The door to the room opened and a man wearing a butler outfit entered. He was the attendant of the first chosen. He was the one handling all his wanted needs. The attendant knelt before the chosen and bowed his head.
“It seems that Regulus’ had failed, my lord. I also assume that the little girl with him also died. She is nowhere to be found in the mansion”
The man blinked with bored eyes. This was the only indication that he even heard what his attendant said. His entire body was unmoving and he had no expression on his face. To anyone else, he would be a statue!
But the attendant knew better than to think that his lord did not see all he wanted to see and hear all he wanted to hear. With power like the one his lord possessed, it would not be surprising if the news he brought was already known by his lord. Such was his power!!
The man on the throne hummed and finally moved to sit up.
“Cancel the contract with Ren Corp for the building of the walls and make sure it can never be traced back to us. Have the virus transported away before the chosen gets to it and hand it over to the next person, REACH won’t be happy about his death, but if Regulus died then it is because he is too weak. It is time I start handing the missions to stronger people”
The butler bowed deeply before he dared to speak up. He had to show the utmost respect to this man because he knew he could die if the man even breathed in him wrongly!
“My lord, what of Ariel…? Do you not trust her to do it?”
The man seemed to have rolled his eyes, but the butler couldn’t tell for sure. Ariel was a wild card that almost nobody could control in this place, but it was obvious that she was very strong. Why would his lord not want to use her!?
“No… Ariel already has a mission of her own. I do not want to stop her because I want to see how far she can go with it. If she can kill the chosen then that would be the end of it, but if she is killed then make sure you have a plan in place before then.”
The butler bowed and slowly left the room. The man on the throne finally relaxed back in his seat. He didn’t know why, but this chosen was making him uneasy. One of the reasons why he was so powerful was his ability to see what was occurring at every point in the world at any given time. But whenever he looks for that chosen or even tries to get a glimpse into his actions there is always nothing!
That man has evaded him for so long that he was now thinking of going out there to see for himself what this chosen was like! But he would have to wait and let his other dogs have their own fun!
Soon, he will have his turn!

[Host has defeated one [Advanced Unchanged]. You have gained the active skill [Telekinetics]. You have leveled up once]
Han suddenly perked up once he saw the announcement that appeared on his screen. How was it possible for him to get an announcement!? Wasn’t it only in the future that he could get these?
But that wasn’t true. The only thing that became black in the past was his status bar. The skills remained there. And this was the first time that he was fighting something other than a human in the past, humans couldn’t give him any skills, so he didn’t receive anything all this while!
So, he could’ve gotten skills even in the past? That was good! With the way things were going, Han would need all the skills he could find! He didn’t think he knew everything about this world, but from the way that new man in the void spoke it was obvious that he didn’t even know the slightest bit about this world. That man spoke like there was another world out there that Han hasn’t even been able to dream about. Something that was beyond Han’s reach!
Well, if he ever needs to, then he would definitely get there too and surpass even them. If this system chose him then he would use it to its limits!
Han rose his hands and concentrated on activating his new skill. He felt the skill activate before he focused on a piece of wood on the other side of the room. It wobbled on the ground for a second before it slowly began to rise in the air.
Yes! Han could already see many ways to use this skill! He would have to level it up as quickly as possible because he was sure this would soon be one of his best skills. It was only the second active skill he had that allowed him to manipulate materials around him, so he was very excited to use it!
Han was sitting down on an upside-down chair in the broken-down church to catch his breath from the fight he just had. Well, it was more like he was just trying to get his bearing right again. No matter how many times he did it, it was still strange how calm he felt after taking another person’s life! He thought he would be even a little bit sad! But nothing came when he saw Regulus die! It was like he was just taking a stroll through the streets!
Han decided it was time to deal with the people outside and he stood up to leave. He must’ve left Rin Woo alone for long enough now too. The way things were looking, he was afraid that she was going to kill him once he met her again tomorrow. Maybe he should get her a present on his way back?
A girl likes presents right? Maybe some ice cream to replace the one he ruined the other day.
Thunk!!
The sound of something hitting stone echoed through the church and Han looked around curiously. What was that? The sound came again and Han suddenly turned around to face the altar of the church. It was coming from there!
Han slowly walked up to the altar and then opened it cautiously. He peeked inside and his shock was not small when he saw a person curled up in there! Han could only see that it was a rather short person since most of its body was covered with a large coat.
Sharp red eyes opened and looked up at Han and he rose a brow in curiosity. It was a girl. Why would a person be inside the altar of the church? And how did she stay hidden throughout all that fighting?
The girl suddenly began to rise from the altar before coming out completely and walking towards Han. Once the person came close enough, she took off her hood to reveal her black hair.
“Hello, Father”
Han blinked in shock and then tried to understand what he just heard. Did this loli just call him… Father? No, he must have misheard! There was no way he just heard right!
“Father! You’re not responding!”
Han blinked again and then squeezed his eyes shut before opening them. Well, damn, she is still here. Not a hallucination then!
“Uh… Who are you and why are you calling me father? I don’t think I’ve ever met you in my life before”
The girl pouted – quite cutely too! – before she reached inside her coat and brought out a piece of paper and handed it to Han. Han collected the pepper slowly and then opened it to read.
It was from Regulus.
[This is the ark of our church, she was to be the first sacrifice I would make to the lord my creator, but now that you have bested me, I ask that you look after it! And even if you don’t want to, how can you abandon a child to the world like that, you monster!]
Han felt his brow twitch! You’re the real monster, you shitty priest! How can you just admit that you would’ve killed her like that!!?
[She is without a family, but she possesses a kind soul. It would be your job to ensure she is not tainted by the evil of this world. Lead her in the way of our creator and ensure she follows his doctrine -]
Yeah, no more. Han squeezed the paper and threw it behind him. From there the priest just went on and on about how he was to lead the girl in the way of the lord and all that bullshit.. He wasn’t even going to bother with that.
