From the way things were looking, Han didn’t think this apocalypse was a zombie apocalypse. It seemed more like a dystopian apocalypse, the sort of apocalypse that came from the collapse of civilization. Han would have to find out what really happened first.
Yue tugged at Han’s cloth and then pointed to the horizon. She already knew what Han was thinking and she wanted to show him something she found a few years ago.
Han smiled and pet her head and Yue preened under his touch. She still loved her father more than anyone!
The two of them walked in silence for most of the journey, but somewhere in the middle of the journey, Yue asked to be carried up and Han couldn’t even dare to say no. He motioned her over and couldn’t help but chuckle as the small girl immediately ran up to him and started trying to climb his body. The sight of his daughter with only one hand still made his blood boil, but he swallowed it down and lifted Yue up to his shoulder with a smile.
“You’ve gotten stronger, daddy. Much stronger!”
Han laughed. You have no idea, Yue.
“Something like that. Now, are you going to show me the way? Daddy needs to handle this quickly you know,”
Yue nodded her head before pointing in the northeast direction. Han was actually grateful that he was carrying her now, at least he could move faster without having to worry about her keeping up with him. It only took Han a few minutes to get to where Yue was pointing at his pace and he rose a brow when he saw that it was a military facility.
What would Yue have found in a military facility?
“It’s inside here daddy. Oh… It’s underground. You have to find a bunkee.. bunkee! Bunker! A bunker! I got it right, didn’t I!?”
Han chuckled as he looked around. The facility looked completely shut down and there didn’t look to be any signs of life. Han decided it would be best to look around before going in. He needed to make sure he was going in the right direction.
So he activated his [Eyes of Horos], but he suddenly gasped in pain as the amount of information that assaulted him almost blinded him! Everything! Han could see fucking everything!
Han quickly deactivated it and closed his eyes for a moment to get his head in order again before he opened it for the second time and activated his eyes again.
The effect was still intense but at least this time Han was expecting it.
Wow! It was like Han could see the world from an entirely different view. Like viewing the world in 5D! What was that anime that Rina always watched again? The one with the eyes? Ah, Naruto! The Byakugan was the eyes that could see everything right? Well, try multiplying the byakugans powers by a hundred and then add the Sharingan to it. That was what Han’s eyes felt like.
He didn’t know it, but the look of his eyes also changed from the red of the past. It was still red, but there was a gold circle inscribed into both eyes, they looked like pupils, but they constantly rotated in a counterclockwise direction like gold rings.
Oh well, Han would find out more about the eyes later. For now, he needed to finish this. Han looked down and he saw the bunker that Yue spoke about. It was almost two kilometers down! What would they be hiding that far below city C? Han narrowed his eyes and he saw how the outline of the bunker shifted and then became transparent. Once he saw the inside, his eyes widened.
What. The. Fuck?
“Father. What’s wrong? Did something happen?”
Han shook his head and tried to get himself back. He looked at Yue with a smile.
“Uh. It’s nothing. Have you been down there before? Do you know the way in?”
Yue shook her head and Han sighed as he looked down again. He almost contemplated not telling her, but then he remembered that Yue was far older than he was. She probably already knew all about things like this.
“I think somebody might have put a nuclear warhead under city C”
Yue blinked and then shook her head.
“What? What do you mean by a nuclear warhead? City C doesn’t even have one. The only city that has one, for now, is city Z and that is only because they are so rich,”
Han looked down again and made sure he was right. He might not know much about nuclear warheads, but he read enough books to have general knowledge on many things. And that thing down there looked just like the husk of a nuclear warhead!
But, wait. How in the world did Yue know that City Z had a nuclear warhead? You know what? That doesn’t even matter. Han shook his head and then brought Yue down from his shoulder.
“Okay, I’m going down to check. Come in after me,”
Han pointed his hand down and activated his skill [Laser Beam]. One magic circle sprang to life and then shot a beam straight through the ground. Han made sure he didn’t shoot at a position where he would hit the warhead itself. Once it was done, he nodded to Yue and then began to float down into the hole. Black tentacles burst out from Yue’s back and she used them to climb down after him.
The bottom of the bunker was very dark and Han activated his [Aura of Flames] to encase his palm in flames. He began to move into the base while Yue followed after him.
“Father, how do you even know where to go? Is it another ability?”
Yue was a bit surprised that Han knew where to go down here. She had already come to this military base before, but she still didn’t know this place, how did Han already know the layout?
Han told her that it was one of his abilities and Yue couldn’t do anything more than nod. She already knew that the difference between Han and the discarded chosen was a lot. But this was just too much!
As Han and Yue were moving down a hallway, they heard a roar from in front of them before they saw multiple zombies starting to run at them. Some of the zombies wore military outfits and some others wore lab coats that you would see on scientists.
Yue was about to get ready to fight. But Han just flicked his finger.
[Frigid Tundra] has been activated.
Everything in the entire hallway both behind and in front of them froze solid! Yue’s eyes widened at the show of power and she swallowed thickly. Father just destroyed a hundred zombies at once!
Han waved her forward and Yue followed after him through the group of frozen zombies. They walked for a while before they finally reached a point that looked like the command central for a space rocket.
It has many computers lined up in a circle around a railing that stands over a large hole.
Han moved away from Yue and touched one of the computers at the side. It was dusty and looked like nobody had even come near it in these five years. It wouldn’t be that hard to fix it. Han’s eyes were still activated and he could see that only a few components were fried. It would maybe take a minute or two?
“Father! Look at this!”
Han looked up at Yue and saw her pointing down the railing. He walked over to the railing and looked down to see the bottom half of a rocket in there. Ah, so that was what he saw. This was the bottom half of the nuclear warhead. But if only the bottom half was here, didn’t that mean the top was already launched? Was it what caused the apocalypse this time?
Han shook his head and then went back to the computer while talking to Yue.
“I’ll try and bring this up. Just hold on for a second,”
Han worked on the computer for a while and Yue decided to just stay silent and allow him to work. It was a little harder with one hand, but Han was able to use his Telekinetics to move the components he would need away. He reattached the motherboard after he was done with it and then clicked on the computer.
[Booting…]
Aha! He did it! Han turned to smile at Yue and she smiled back happily. Once the computer finished booting, the first thing that Han saw was a passcode request. Hah! It figures that a military base would require something like that.
But it was just too easy for Han to bypass it and then add his own passcode into the system. What Han did just now allowed him to view all the files in the system, and not just the files allowed to one person. One particular set of files caught his attention far more than the others.. It was labeled “Input Log. Daily Entry”
