As if the Gods were bellowing out in anger, the thunderclap could be heard from miles away.

The winds were strong enough to cause at least light damage to trees as the flora of the land danced to the tunes of the wind.

The storms took the very land of the mountains into an onward night, regardless of neither time nor sun, yet came the booming exclamations of heaven and lightning to restart the heart.

Pichu gazed upon this scene, wondering just what was beyond this nest.

Ever since his birth, Pichu has been the adventurous type. Always running around by himself.

He didn't have many friends because he was the chief's son and unlike his older sister, who had inherited her father's genes of being an alpha, Pichu meanwhile was just ordinary.

" Little Bro, come inside." A giant Pikachu the size of a normal Raichu called out to Pichu who was mesmerized by the storm.

" Ah! Coming ." Running back to the burrow, Pichu looked back to the story as he saw something that would leave a mark on him for the rest of his life.

A loud crackling and snapping filled the air. Stray lightning bolts struck the earth with a defying boom following them. The sound was quickly overpowered by the snap cry of a bird as it dove from the dark clouds. The electric bird's cry was answered quickly by a bark as a beastly dog tore across the plains, leaping onto and off the large rocks that dotted the landscape.

Zapdos's massive wings carried it across the plains, parallel to the ground. With each flap of the golden wings, static bounced off and fell to the earth harmlessly. Raikou let out a roar as it leaped from a boulder, briefly landing on the low-flying Zapdos's back before leaping higher. There was a massive crack, as if a divine whip was being used, as a colossal lightning bolt struck Raikou's frame.

Gracefully, the legendary beast landed on the plains, its footfalls leaving burned patches of grass in its wake. Raikou arched its body towards the heavens and let a roaring rip from his throat, discharge leaving its body and shooting towards the nearest lightning rod, Zapdos. The legendary bird of thunder let out a cry of joy as the body absorbed the electricity.

With newfound energy the two Pokémon raced, the air alive with their power. Raikou and Zapdos's bodies discharged random bursts of electricity as they soared over the land with large leaps and powerful wing beats. Thunder crashed around them as the two freely enjoyed themselves.

The young Pichu looked at the two legends with awe while his sister had a look of horror on her face.

Quickly running to her little brother's side, Pikachu picked up Pichu and ran towards the burrow.

During this period when legendaries met, no Pokémon dared to show up but the dance of thunder and lightning set a spark in the young Pichu's heart.

Months later, Pichu was training with his sister.

" Sister, why can't I evolve ?"

" I don't know little brother, maybe it's not your time."

" How did you evolve, Sis ?"

" Well, I evolved because of love."

" Come on, if you don't want to say how you evolved then don't."

" Ha, to think my little brother is so grown up that he is making fun of me."

Pikachu's cheeks sparked as the young Pichu booked it, too scared to face his sister.

While running away, Pichu gazed at the sky with a desire to reach for it.

Every single day, his mind would replay the dance of the legends as his desire to go out of his nest and see the world increased more and more.

Tonight, he decided was the night he would leave.

Using his claw to carve out a message, Pichu looked around the den before he sneaked out.

He had memorized the time when the adults changed shifts and the small window of time when the burrow was unguarded was a perfect time that he had used to escape.

He will finally be free to see what the wide outer world had to offer.

Time seemed to have stopped for the young Pichu as he left the confines of his home, his nest.

It was an exhilarating feeling that the young Pichu felt.

Suddenly hearing the loud noise, Pichu instinctively shot a thunder shock that paralyzed the Pidgey before Pichu ran for the bushes.

It took some time but Pichu managed to get out of the forest dodging many of the Pokémon that tried to attack him.

On the road, he met many friendly mons and some not so friendly but for the first time he didn't feel restricted, he didn't have to compare himself with others, and he didn't have to ignore all those comments from members of his tribe, he didn't have to go out of his way to try to impress his parents.

He was free, he was free to do whatever he wanted.

Pichu over the next months traveled near the cities but never close enough.

He had seen how those balls that those humans used, captured those mons. He didn't want to be like that, he didn't want to have his freedom stripped because of some humans.

Pichu traveled and traveled, seeing the world and its wonders. He was attacked many times but somehow he managed to escape but it looked like his luck had run out as he dodged a twin needle from a bunch of beedrills.

Pichu managed to escape from the beedrills by running towards pallet town but he was tired and hungry.

Attracted by the electrical power of some generators, Pichu ran towards Oak's lab.

Using his small size to slip into the room, Pichu drooled at the sight of generators.

Placing a paw on the wires, Pichu bit down intending to absorb the electricity flowing into the wires.

But the power output of the generator was too much for the young Pokémon to handle as it felt the thousands of kilowatts of energy entering his body.

He could feel that his core was overcharging and he might die.

Maybe it was the fear of death or his love for his own life but something caused Pichu to be engulfed by the bright light of evolution.

Pikachu found himself standing in a void as he looked around in confusion.

( ~ Caw ~ )

The sound attracted Pikachu's attention upward as he saw a giant silhouette of the Avian God of Thunder, Zapdos.

The Giant Silhouette exuded a power that caused Pikachu to onto his knees.

" Thou aren't worthy of my power."

A voice called out to Pikachu who instinctively knew that he was going to die.

Pikachu gritted his teeth as he pushed himself up.

He couldn't die just yet or that stupid human of his would do something that would scare everyone in the family.

He couldn't do that.

He couldn't let his new family down.

Pikachu stood up as he stared down the silhouette of Zapdos whose body was covered by Lightning.

" Thou are worthy."

With those words, the silhouette charged toward Pikachu who couldn't do anything but stare as Zapdos's silhouette entered his heart.

Suddenly Pikachu's eyes opened as he found himself in the hospital.

Glancing to the side, he saw his trainer. The human that showed him that not all humans were bad at sleeping but some kind of pink blob attacked his trainer's head.

Looking carefully Pikachu saw that the blob had a round pink body with purple flower designs on its back. Its limbs are quite small and stubby. It floats around without touching the ground and has a small trunk-like snout, and the circular opening on its trunk emits purple dream mist. Its eyes are ovular and red with small black lashes.

" Munna " 

The pink tapir like Pokémon exclaimed as it saw Pikachu who suddenly shot a thunderbolt at the Pokémon thinking it was attacking his human.
