Chapter 20: Chapter 20

Three months went by pretty fast. It was afternoon and everyone gathered at Great Keristrasza’s nest.

The Three Monarchs, Prof. Oak, Mike, and a few pokemon gathered to give a farewell party to Leon and Allmight.

“Although I didn’t want to be the host of my disciple’s farewell party, I couldn’t do anything about it since they forced me to,” Keristrasza looked at the other monarchs despondently.

But the three of them knew that Keristrasza was the one who organized this party. Chelone and Heqet already knew of Keristrasza’s unique personality, so they didn’t care.

She lavishly decorated her nest, prepared delicious food and she even arranged for an entertainment after dinner. Leon was never good with goodbyes so he didn’t want to have a farewell party. This made her furious and almost burned down Prof. Oak’s lab. Both Monarchs eventually convinced Leon to have one.  

Of course, Leon knew the truth. The four of them had been together for quite some time now and have gotten pretty close. He also had his appraisal so he knew their tendencies very well.

If the Pokemon Association didn’t have the Monarch Protocol, they would have fought each other to pick their descendant as Leon’s first partner.

While the others were having dinner, the three Monarchs were busy arranging the entertainment.

Prof. Oak, Mike and Leon were also talking about the academy.

I wonder how the academies here is like. I attended a university before but it was close to home so I just rode public transportation, Leon thought.

“Do I have to rent a place near the academy? Or do they provide lodging?” Leon asked.

“The academy has separate dormitories for boys and girls. You will have two roommates,” Mike said while munching on some Octi-yaki (Takoyaki made out of Octillery).

“I guess I’ll finally have new human friends,” Leon laughed. He knew that the only human he considered a friend was Mike. Prof. Oak was like a mentor and a benefactor to him so he did not count.

“What else do I need to prepare?” Leon asked as he was giving Allmight some Octi-yaki.

“The Academy will provide everything for you. The uniforms will be given to you on the first day and they are quite special. It will automatically fit you and they also serve as an armor and protection.” Prof. Oak said.

“Badges will be given and will serve as your identification in the academy. It has a GPS tracker so that when your life is endangered in one of your journeys, a rescue team would save you.” Prof. Oak added.

“On the second day, the academy will have its general assembly to welcome the freshmen. They will inform you of the rules by then,” Mike said.

Leon just nodded and didn’t ask any more questions so they could enjoy the food.

After everybody has finished eating, Keristrasza called everyone’s attention.

“It’s time for the entertainment!” Keristrasza announced. “Since tonight is their last day with us, Leon and Allmight should show to us the fruits of their training!”

“They will have to fight the strongest warrior at their level from each of our kin. The first to battle will be ivysaur, followed by wartortle, then by charmeleon. Big Sis Chelone will heal them after each battle so they can go all out.” Keristrasza said.

“Do you accept?” Keristrasza was glaring at Leon and Allmight.

“It’s show time,” Leon nodded and Allmight puffed his chest to show his willingness.

“Excellent! Participants, enter the arena,” Keristrasza announced and pointed towards a concrete field.

The arena looked the same as the ones in the pokemon league battles from the show, Leon thought
