Author's note: I will change Ditto's name from Allmight to Toshi (Allmight's nickname). A reader pointed out that it was cringe and to be honest after making a couple of chapters using the name Allmight it felt weird hence the change. Thank you guys for reading this story I'm making for fun :3
Toshi transformed to a charizard to fly to Viridian City and they landed near the city’s entrance. Leon was aware that it was not allowed to teleport directly inside or fly within another city unless one had a permit. The Oak Academy’s badge acted as a permit within the academy and his pokedex from Prof. Oak allowed him to teleport and fly within Pallet Town.
Even though Pallet Town had progressed over the years, so did Viridian City. It was larger than Pallet Town and had a Pokemon Gym increasing its economy.
Have you memorized the city’s coordinates? And how many teleports do you think you need to return to the academy? Leon asked telepathically.
Yes Master, around 3-4 teleports, Toshi replied.
When Toshi becomes stronger, he might be able to use just 1 teleport. Leon thought.
After Leon checked the stores, he did not find any pokemon he wanted. However, he did overhear a group of people talking about a black market located in the city. It seemed that the black market was an open secret. It was already evening, so he would check the black market another time. Leon asked Toshi to teleport them back to the academy. His roommates were already sleeping when he was teleported back to his dorm room. He meditated before he slept as always.
The next day, everyone gathered at the academy’s Pokemon Stadium.
Leon estimated the number of freshmen to be around 360. The principal, Doss Galvan, gave his opening speech, followed by the Junior (2nd year) and Senior (3rd year) representatives. The freshmen would have their classroom introduction first then tour the academy grounds after the opening ceremonies.
When Leon arrived at the classroom, he saw Woody and Mark sitting at the back and joined them after some pleasantries. Leon had counted 30 students in the classroom and he noticed that they were seated in groups of three. A few moments later, the instructor arrived.
“Good morning class,” she projected her name on the huge tablet that replaced the blackboard and it read “Alexa Sy.”
The woman in front was young, probably around 20+, and had a slim figure with long navy-blue hair and had blue eyes. She’s about 5’3” and looked Asian.
“I will be your class advisor until you graduate and you will be members of the Sapphire class,” she informed.
“You will be grouped into three. As you have noticed, you are with your dormmates. If no other issues occur, they will be your groupmates until you graduate from the academy. So, play nice with everyone, okay?” Then she continued once she saw her students’ look on their faces, “I don’t know how the rooms were arranged, so please don’t ask me.”
“I guess we’ll be together for a while,” Woody said as he looked at Mark and Leon. “This is great since we both get along and Leon doesn’t seem to bite,” Mark jokingly added since Leon was always quiet. The three laughed.
“Sorry guys, most of my friends are pokemon and I talked to them using telepathy,” Leon said awkwardly. “But I do have one human friend,” he added shyly.
“Nice! We have a telepath in our team. This will make communication much easier during missions and now you have two more human friends,” Woody and Mark both rejoiced and once again shook hands with Leon.
Alexa explained that pokemon trainers had a ranking system. Pokemon League Champion being the highest and Rookie Class Rank being the lowest. The higher the rank is, the more benefits one could get from the Pokemon Association. This also meant that you had more responsibilities.

Once they graduate from the academy, they would be considered as Normal-Class Rank trainers because they had undergone formal training and experience some missions. Most of the teachers are in Great-Class Rank a few in Ultra-Class Rank and finally the principal is at Master-Class Rank.
Each rank has different requirements as follows:
Rookie-Class Rank – 1 pokemon at E rank stage.
Normal-Class Rank – 3 pokemon at C rank stage. Needs to at least complete 4 C rank missions.
Great-Class Rank – 4 pokemon at B rank stage. Needs to at least complete 4 B rank missions.
Ultra-Class Rank – 6 pokemon at A rank stage, Needs to at least complete 3 A rank missions.
Master-Class Rank – 2 pokemon at S rank stage. Needs to at least complete 2 S rank missions. This rank also gains the right to challenge gyms.
Champion-Class Rank – 4 pokemon at S rank stage, all official badges of one region. Has fought a Pokemon League Champion and knocked out at least three (3) S-rank pokemon or more of the Pokemon League Champion.
Pokemon League Champion – has won a Pokemon League.
Defeated Pokemon League Champions retain the same rank but a modifier “Former” is added.
Gym leaders are classified as Champion-Class Rank
Note that “Stage” and “Potential” are different. Stage means the pokemon’s current level and potential means what the pokemon’s max level cap is.
“You can get the missions you need to rank up at the Pokemon Association, Pokemon Academies or from cities that have Official Pokemon Gyms,” Alexa added.
“The perks, duties and responsibilities will be gradually discussed in the following days and may shock some of you while the others might already know this information. In your 2nd year, you would start receiving your group assignments and then your individual assignments in your 3rd year. Alright, this is it for now,” Alexa dismissed the class and started the academy tour.
