[Tamed beast 'Umbra' is revolting within the beast sealing card! Host is advised to do something against it, otherwise, the beast sealing card might be damaged, which could disrupt the space within!]

Shane read the message but ignored the warning, as he extracted the beast sealing card from his body.

Holding it in his hand, the card enlarged, with a two-meter long snake emerging out of it.

Shane was astonished to see that Umbra had grown roughly half a meter in size,, but more than that, he was elated to see his companion again.

Umbra was similarly happy, as he approached him, only to glide up his body in order to coil around his waist.

Umbra hissed with joy and looked directly in Shane's eyes who noticed that his piercing yellow slits were filled with intelligence.

Caressing his friend, he inspected his status panel in order to see if there had been a major change..

_______________

As Shane carefully read through the message, he noticed that umbra's loyalty had increased by 8% which made him wonder, because they didn't even interact much with each other.

'Is that because of the [soul connection] ability of the beast sealing card, that we feel more connected with each other than we already felt through our bond?' he asked himself, but there was no way to figure out the truth.

In the end, it was something good and nothing that he should complain about, which caused him to disregard his train of thought for the time being...

Rather than wasting time in doing so, Shane was more eager to see if his guess about Umbra's reason to revolt inside the beast sealing card was correct. He pressed on the [Evolution] section within Umbra's status panel, as another hologram emerged in front of him.

_______________

Possible evolutions [Shadow-snake (Extraordinary)]

1) [Common] Shadow-python (100%/100%)

2) [Uncommon] Darkness-python (100%/100%)

3) [Rare] Colossus Darkness-python (100%/100%)

4) [Extraordinary] Horned Darkness-Snake (100%/100%)

_______________

"YES!" Shane exclaimed in joy as he read through the message. Their shared connection helped them feel each other's emotions which they could see the happiness reflected in each other's eyes as well as through their bond that seemed to have grown stronger, making them ecstatic.

Umbra's evolution progress bar was finally completely filled, which meant that Umbra had stored enough mana within him to evolve.

Shane's face broke out into a bright smile when he saw that his guess had been correct.

Furthermore, there was no better time for him to figure out the requirements for Umbra to evolve than now!

Now, he could make arrangements in advance to make more space, once Umbra's evolution would be completed.

But before initiating Umbra's evolution, he sold the preservable food within the beast sealing card to the system while doing the same with the drained mana crystals.

After that, he took out the remaining, filled mana crystals that Umbra couldn't absorb anymore, which was a small bunch of a few dozen out of several thousand crystals, which he stored inside his Spatial ring.

His worries about Umbra's size increased further which was quickly replaced by the proud feeling of his tamed beast becoming much stronger, once his evolution finished.

Both umbra and Shane were extremely nervous, even though nothing special would happen as of now but they still took almost half an hour to calm down their emotional chaos of excitement and anxiety.

Taking deep breaths, Shane distanced himself from Umbra, before he assessed the system once again, as he pressed on the [Horned Darkness-snake] evolution, with a notification popping up!

[Possibility to evolve Shadow-snake[Extraordinary] into a Horned Darkness-Snake[Trash] perceived! Evolution progression bar filled to [100%]....requirements met! Initiate evolution?]

[Yes!/No!]

Taking another deep breath, Shane could only try to calm his trembling fingers thanks to his passive [Hunter's mind] skill, as he initiated Umbra's evolution, pressing on [Yes!]

Immediately afterward, Umbra's whole aura changed, as he released extremely dense darkness transmuted mana, which enveloped him firmly, changing the whole surrounding atmosphere from its tranquil state to an eerie, almost scary, fear-inflicting atmosphere.

Gulping down his saliva, Shane almost retreated several steps. Had there not been his firm connection to Umbra, he wouldn't have known that Umbra had entered his evolution as a countdown appeared below Umbra's status panel.

[89D:23H:59M:49S]

Seeing the countdown, he finally figured out how long Umbra's evolution would take, and after comparing his knowledge with what other Tamers' revealed about their tamed beasts' evolutions, Shane could immediately tell that Umbra's evolution was going to take a long time to complete.

However, this also meant that his evolution would undergo some drastic changes, which was only obvious, because he estimated the Horned Darkness snake to be a peak-Awakened beast, as it was stronger than the Colossus Darkness-python, one of the stronger mid awakened stage beasts he knew of.

Even normal Expert states wouldn't dare to simply fight a Colossus Darkness-python without a plan.

As such, Shane could only feel excited, as he gazed at the countdown for several minutes.

Wondering of the ways in which Umbra's appearance and more importantly his strength would change after his evolution, Shane averted his gaze to the thick darkness transmuted mana cocoon that enveloped his small companion and didn't let a single ray of light pass through it.

Once he gathered his senses, Shane held out the beast sealing card in his hand which enlarged slightly by his thought as he lifted the stiff cocoon in order to store it someplace safe, which was the beast sealing card, as it would be stored within Shane himself.

This was the most secure place Shane could think of, as it was a requirement for the taming skill in order to maintain a high loyalty percentage.

It was only obvious that it was not safe to store Umbra within himself, but there were other things he had to take care of if he was about to die.

Storing the beast sealing card within his body once again, Shane was finally able to leave the tranquil forest.

Pondering about his next steps, he decided to rest for the day, because it would be bad to stay awake for a full week, even if he felt as energetic as he had been four days ago.

Resting was also extremely important for his body and there was no reason for him to not sleep.

The only thing he wanted to do at the weekend was practicing his martial art techniques and weapon proficiency, which would consume at most several hours and not the next two whole days, which was terrifying to imagine.

If he were to work out, practice martial art techniques and increase his weapon proficiency for 48 hours straight, he could as well kill himself when the expedition would start, because he wouldn't be able to move a single inch this way.

The sun had already set when Shane returned to the dorm where he saw Aimy and Olivia talking to each other as he walked inside.

They seemed to have returned just before him, and the two girls were shocked to perceive his increased cultivation rank.

In less than a week, his cultivation and body refining rank increased by three levels, which was extremely difficult, because a breakthrough would be required 10 hours on average, while the consolidation also needed time and effort.

Meanwhile, body refining required lots of resources and time, which caused them to wonder if Shane was even getting enough sleep.

Suddenly, the two girls remembered the rumors that Shane's roommates had created, saying that he was always staying overnight with women, having 'meetings', which caused him to have a bad reputation.

The two girls were shocked about the rumor but when they sensed the aura around him, both immediately disregarded this rumor.

Suddenly the youth in front of them, who was even younger by a few months, looked like an ancient titan, as Shane's practice with his killing intent was still lingering around him, with faint traces swirling around him.

This was intentional because he tried to accustom his body to a regular release of killing intent, even if it was only faint.

It was important to practice it daily, and, if possible, all day.

"Do you have any plans for the weekend?" Olivia asked, staring intently at him, with fighting spirit releasing from her causing him to frown slightly as he said

"I have to hone my martial art techniques and weapon proficiency before Monday!"

Hearing Shane's reply, Olivia's eyes gleamed in the hope of asking Shane for a spar, which could also be used to hone his techniques, while Aimy looked at him with a renewed interest.

"Do you have any special plans for Monday?" She asked, and Shane directed his gaze to her with a smile, as he said

"I'll join Aisha Hael's expedition! I advise you to apply for it too, it'll be profitable!"

After saying so, he decided to return to his room, completely disregarding Olivia's intensive gaze, with Aimy looking at his broad back in confusion!
