When he saw the panther, Shane assumed that he had attracted the attention of the peak-Awakened stage feathered 'air chanter panther', that was known for its high speed, only to see that he was not the panther's target!

Enveloped in a strong gust of wind that accelerated the air chanter panther's speed further, it emerged behind the oblivious Lesser Starlet Fox.

On seeing the air chanter panther hot on the heels of the lesser starlet fox, Shane shouted out loudly which was heard by both the beasts.

When the Lesser Starlet fox heard Shane's shout it realised that it wasn't being followed by him anymore.

Suddenly it perceived that something eerie, even more, dangerous than Shane was behind it that felt like death was merely an inch away.

Instinctively, it manifested a spatial portal right in front of it, only to be slashed at when it jumped through the spatial portal.

Shane saw blood spilling out of the spatial portal that dissolved a moment later.

'Is it still alive?' He asked himself worriedly, hoping that it was alive.

The [Mythic] mission demanded from him to catch a living Lesser Starlet fox and not a dead one.

This was his reason for being worried about the most right now.

Suddenly he heard a pained squeaking from a bush that was nearby him.

Without thinking about the air chanter Panther at the peak-Awakened stage that turned towards the direction the squeaking came from, Shane dived straight into the bush.

He couldn't be sure that it was the Lesser Starlet Fox that squeaked in pain, but Shane didn't care about the minuscule chance that a different beast had tried to lure him into a trap.

As such, when he jumped into the bush Shane was just hoping that it was the Lesser Starlet fox and that it was still alive.

This was the case and only a moment later he touched the small Lesser Starlet fox, whose whole hind side was ripped open, revealing its bones.

[[Mythic-Mission] <System's Collector> has been solved]

[System's Collector] Find and catch a wild 'Lesser Starlet Fox' alive! Receiving help by finding the requested target is allowed. Catching the target has to be completed without any outside help!

Allocated time [∞]. Good luck!]

[Reward: Permission to purchase [Tier-1 (Mythic)] body refining manual! Congratulations!]

Even if Shane was overjoyed to have solved his [Mythic] mission, it was not like he was in a safe environment right now.

The Lesser Starlet Fox in front of him was about to die, while he sensed that the Air chanter approached him slowly as if it wanted to play one last time with the prey it wanted to kill.

He was about to stand up and run away when he looked straight into the Lesser Starlet fox's eyes which caused him to stiffen.

Gritting his teeth, Shane felt like he would hate himself for the rest of his life if he were to leave the Lesser Starlet fox alone.

However, instead of picking up the Lesser Starlet fox without a plan, he told Umbra to take a look at what he could see behind him.

This was only possible because Shane's entire body was the Hidden Paradise. By opening the bridge between the world within him and the outside world, others could see everything around Shane without a single-blind spot.

As such, Umbra could tell how far the Air chanter panther was from them and he also transmitted every little detail of the panther to Shane.

Shane was glad that Umbra was so attentive which allowed him to understand that the Air chanter panther was just toying around with the Lesser Starlet fox and himself before it would attack.

However, it wouldn't attack normally but wait until the moment when Shane and the Lesser Starlet fox thought that everything was over.

Unfortunately, the Air chanter panther hadn't considered the possibility that Shane might not be alone.

But rather than focusing on fighting against the panther behind him, Shane and even Umbra were of the opinion that taking care of an almost extinct beast was more important.

Subconsciously Shane's mindset began to change, adjusting his first life's memories and thoughts to the second lifetime he was living, where he had been controlled and moulded into a rational killer.

"You can't die, alright!!" Shane shouted as he infused several perfect purified potions into the Lesser Starlet fox's mouth.

The memory of the albino rhinoceros that knew it was about to die flashed before his eyes. Shane's mind was only filled with the desire to help the Lesser Starlet Fox and nothing else.

Only his passive skill [Hunter's mind] helped him to be relatively calm.

"Don't be startled, alright? You'll meet a few other people from my race that want to help you...ok? Don't reject the invitation!"

After warning the Lesser Starlet fox about what was going to happen, Shane enveloped it with his mana, before he utilized the connection with the Hidden Paradise to open a small portal.

Shocked by what it was seeing right now, the Lesser Starlet fox wanted to run away. However, that was not possible and it was well aware that it could die from blood loss in a few minutes if it didn't receive any help right now!

As such, the Lesser Starlet fox had no choice but to let Shane continue with its rescue mission when a small portal manifested by Shane, took it far away from its home.

Only a moment later, the fox was lying on a bed within a wooden room without much furniture, surrounded by 8 humanoid beings that looked similar to Shane, who had played with it before he wanted to catch it.

Worried over what was going to happen, the Lesser Starlet fox began to whimper, when a faint, green hue enveloped the bed.

The pain which the Lesser Starlet fox felt before soothed, while the bleeding seemed to reduce as.

However, this didn't mean that the amount of blood pouring out of the deep wound was to be taken lightly.

When the artisan group heard what had happened, they stopped working and Talia purchased a miniature [Tier-1 (Extraordinary)] recuperation field with a [Natural healing] effect.

It cost a small fortune and the mana consumption was extremely large, but it was extremely effective.

One could clearly see that the Lesser Starlet fox didn't feel much pain anymore.

At the same time, it seemed to be more relaxed than it was a moment before, while the [Natural healing +] that was the culprit for the large mana consumption was doing what it was supposed to do too.

The [Natural healing +] ability accelerated the natural healing process while providing additional support to heal the most lethal wounds to a certain degree.

Unfortunately, this didn't seem enough and when Talia updated Shane about this, he asked her to purchase a [Tier-2 (Extraordinary)] recuperation and invigorating potion with the additional [Life preserving] effect.

These two potions were extremely expensive, and one of them was worth 500 gold coins, but instead of fretting over the high expenses, Talia nodded her head and did as Shane instructed.

She knew that Shane wanted to save the Lesser Starlet Fox and it didn't matter to him whether the costs were expensive or not.

The same applied to the small artisan group. Only Dyr and Han were worth their money right now, while the others were using up more funds than they earned, by a large margin at that.

However, Shane didn't care about that at all.

As such, they were the last who could complain about 1,000 gold coins which they might have needed to purchase something else.

Rather, they felt good to see that Shane not only cared about them but also a few beasts.

They had heard about Shane's mission during the last few weeks, about the Lesser Starlet fox's playfulness and the fact that it had never attacked him with the intention to kill Shane.

Even most herbivores that seemed placid from the outside were different from the Lesser Starlet fox. This was the reason for nobody to bother about distinguishing the placid from the aggressive beast when one was out hunting.

This told the 8 friends that Shane was truly different from others and that they had made the right choice.

They promised Shane to give their best to tend to the Lesser Starlet fox, and prevent its death, by all means, possible, when they suddenly heard a loud roar echoing through the Hidden Paradise.

It was the Air chanter panther's roar it issued after sensing that the Lesser Starlet Fox had vanished, leaving Shane as its only prey behind.

However, a moment after the Air chanter panther roared, Umbra enveloped himself in his darkness affinity as he slithered through the portal Shane manifested in front of him.

Roaring in rage, Umbra emerged in front of Shane who was about to be attacked by the Air chanter panther.

Manifesting several dozen compressed darkness needles that were half a meter long, Umbra shot them at the Air chanter panther. It was taken by surprise by the sudden appearance of a 50-meter long snake that released strong killing intent towards it.

Even though it was taken by surprise, the Air chanter Panther was able to evade most darkness needles, only to be strafed by two while another darkness needle pierced through its hind leg.

This caused the air chanter panther to be heavily restricted, changing the battle's tides!
