Compared to a few moments ago, Shane's fortune decreased by a large amount but instead of feeling sad or frustrated, he was proud and overjoyed.
Finally, he had decent manuals to cultivate!
Even though these techniques weren't good enough for him to reach the peak of the Expert stage, it was more than enough for the beginning.
With time, Shane was confident in saving up enough funds to purchase the Tier-2 techniques he longed for.
Nevertheless, investing in his human capital which includes the quality upgrade of Umbra, was more important for now.
As long as Umbra's combat prowess and evolution paths received a boost, Shane would also obtain much more funds from their increased hunting speed.
With two powerful fighters instead of one, Shane's combat prowess and hunting speed would increase by a huge margin, changing his income by a lot.
This thought caused Shane's lips to curl up.
Because he didn't want anyone to notice Umbra's quality upgrade, he once again rented a room at a different hotel than before.
Shane wasn't sure if the previous hotel owner would try to kill him, because the room he was in reeked disgustingly.
As such a different hotel was the best choice he could make.
Placing the satiated Umbra on the single bed, Shane gazed at it intently, before he took out the required ingredients for his quality upgrade.
Ordering the system to open the quality upgrade panel, the same sheet he had previously seen appeared in front of him, with slight changes within.
[To upgrade the quality of selected beast [Shadow-snake(Umbra)] from its initial quality (Uncommon) to (Rare) following materials are required.
_______________________
Darkness Orchid[Rare](1/1)
Blood of an [Elite] Snake beast (100ml/100ml)
Peak Tier-1 Mana stone [Darkness] (1/1)
[Commence quality upgrade] [Y/N]

Everything he needed to upgrade Umbra's quality from [Uncommon] to [Rare] was ready and Shane ordered the system to continue the upgrade.
Suddenly the ingredients in Shane's hand ascended into the air, where they dissolved before they compressed and fused with each other, slowly forming a single small marble that shone in a dark light, glimmering with dense mana.
Without wasting any time, the pellet entered Umbra's mouth which he opened widely to welcome the black marble.
Sensing it was something positive and advantageous for it, Umbra couldn't be more impatient and he was almost about to jump towards the pellet but fortunately, it arrived fast enough within his mouth.
Waiting for a few minutes, Shane inspected Umbra in anticipation but nothing happened which caused him to frown deeply.
Even Umbra felt weird that nothing happened, when a violent surge of mana spread through its whole body, releasing dense mana fluctuations.
Shane's eyes widened but it was even more so, because of what he saw.
Umbra was slowly embraced by dark shining mana, shrouding him in cocoon-shaped mana, covering everything within.

Another few minutes passed without anything happening when Shane received a surprising notification from the system.
[Quality-upgrade of [Shadow-snake(Umbra)] from (Uncommon) to (Rare) will take 12 hours. Host is recommended to ensure the safety of his tamed beast under all means!]
The first thing Shane made was jumping in joy, as the quality upgrade really worked. Smiling brightly he noted that it would take 12 hours which was a long time, but still, nothing compared to the gains Shane awaited in the future.
He wasn't sure what the system meant with ensuring safety but it was probably only a warning that Umbra's mana fluctuation could attract terrifying existences or something like that.
Within Basic Primordial dimensions, protection Umbra within the shelter couldn't be considered a problem and Shane thought this warning would have more meaning within the Intermediate-dimensions and even more so in the advanced dimensions, because of the terrifying beasts within.
Shane had to note that he would have to go back to Igra for the following quality enhancements, once he reached the Master stage, as he shouldn't extort too much pressure on the shelters within the intermediate dimension.
Mankind couldn't defeat all beings there and some monstrous beings were just left alone or pushed back by the sheer number, humanity had.
Umbra's quality enhancement would most likely need some mana supply, but this could easily be solved by purchasing a few mana stones.
Right now, however, Shane wasn't sure what exactly he should do, as all mana particles that could barely enter his room were greedily absorbed by the black shroud around Umbra.
His mana pool was filled and he could test out his body refining manual for a few minutes but that was probably it.
Even so, Shane decided to care about that later.
Turning his attention to the manuals within his spatial ring he learned them all in a row before a vast amount of information was implanted in his mind.
The information was extremely detailed and Shane immediately understood what he had to do to practice the body refining manual.
However, to ensure the perfect refining of his body, he would need to bathe in a nutrition solution that would provide him with all kinds of nutrition in addition to enough mana to complete the whole process.
His mana pool size was large enough because it could be compared to someone at the 5th Mortal stage than to [Artemis' Blessing] which enlarged his mana core by 30%
The only problem was, that he didn't have a nutrition solution, and purchasing one from the system would be too expensive.
Furthermore, Shane didn't want to buy a nutrition solution from the Primordial shop or rather the human section, as they were expensive and would have a nutrition effect for multiple hours while the mana within him could only supply the whole body refining process for roughly an hour.
This meant he would waste a lot of the nutrition effect.
As such, Shane decided to do something else for the next 8 hours.
First, he had to adjust his plan in order to squeeze the academy into it, without losing too much time for everything else.
But if Shane was honest, in the last few days, he had to adjust his plan way too often and it seemed kinda useless to make a new long-term plan because he was already further than he had estimated in the beginning.
And this was due to a few different facts.
These facts included his possession of an extremely useful Innate skill, a powerful blessing, and the perfect timing for the Corvi race to conquer or siege a world without innate darkness transmuted mana.
Everything played perfectly together and due to him earning enough funds to purchase two Tier-1 manuals, Shane's plan progress further than previously expected.
But for him, this speed still felt too slow and he wanted to progress even faster.
To accelerate everything, Shane was required to have more connections, and even more important was a wider variety of information.
Being able to collect highly demanded items, Shane would be able to sell them for a much higher price, increasing his profit even more.
