Dragging himself towards the shelter, Shane noticed that not only was he exhausted, but also Umbra seemed to have lost the vigorous luster within its eyes.
Thinking about the ferocious fight with him rolling over the ground as if he was a pig inside a mud field, Shane felt apologetic, but there was nothing he could do about it.
As such he decided to give Umbra some nice food after they slept for several hours in order to gain some energy.
Unbeknownst to him, when Shane wanted to enter the shelter, he received multiple notifications, but his mind could not comprehend anything anymore.
The guards around the shelter gates gazed oddly at Shane with his dead-tired eyes while his whole body was smeared with dirt and blood.
His arms were full of small cuts and burst open cornea from mining way too long and the guards were confused about what exactly the youth in front of them did to look like this.
Noticing that the young man in front of them could barely stand, they went closer to him in order to help out, as they noticed a one-meter-long black scaled snake on his shoulder, looking equally tired.
They immediately thought that it was a tamed beast because wild beasts would attack them in normal cases.
It could have also been a mind-controlling beast, but the guards looked extremely young and were most likely new to their occupation.
Beasts that could control humans such as parasites or mind-controlling beasts were rare and even more so within the basic primordial dimensions.
However, that didn't mean they didn't exist there!
The Radiant mountain ring was a new dimension and the young guards should have been more careful, which they weren't as their concern about Shane's health was more important to them as the marginal possibility of Umbra being a hostile beast instead of a tamed beast.
This was a rare trait within mankind that could also backfire with them dying by helping out the wrong humans or maybe even foolishly trusting other races.
They didn't even consider that Umbra could have been anything else as a tamed beast, as they helped Shane inside the gate after he barely showed them his race by ordering the system.
That was everything Shane could do as his eyes closed without him being able to do anything against it, when they entered the shelter.
----
An unknown amount of time passed when he unwillingly opened his eyes, as multiple emotions and thoughts were transmitted into his head.
Straightening his body, Shane could barely escape the clutches of the soft bad he was lying in, as he began to wonder how he entered the bed he was inside.
His sleepiness was immediately washed away and Shane jumped up, only to notice that he was within a small room that looked like common Inn rooms he got to know within the DeepMountain shelter.
Sighing in relief, Shane stood up, only to notice that his knees were slightly sluggish while his arms ached extremely with each tiny move he did.
'Maybe I shouldn't overwork myself next time?' Shane thought while smiling weirdly.
He still wore the same clothes as before and dirtied the whole bed during his sleep.
The room reeked after dirt and blood and Shane knew that it was his smell, as he turned towards the basin that stood in the corner of the room
There was already cold water inside and Shane saw his reflection, shocking him only slightly.
His initially quite beautiful face was completely smeared by blood and dirt, turning him into a figure that looked worse than a common beggar in the current era and he decided to wash his face, ignoring the transmitted thoughts in his mind.
Umbra was hungry and nagging at him while slithering around him in protest before it ascended his leg.

Putting Umbra back on the ground, Shane took off his clothes in order to change into a new set after bathing.
Washing up, he tried to recall how he entered the Inn and he could swear that he only remembered the moment when the young guards walked towards him.
Everything else was blurry until there was nothing to remember anymore, which never happened to him ever before.
Thinking that the guards brought him to the inn, Shane decided to remember the favor he owned them, as he put on his second set of clothes.
The cold and clear water within the basin was now full of dirt, while Shane's distinct facial features could be seen once again.
Looking at Umbra, he seemed to be clean and he put him back on his shoulder, as Umbra sulked in his mind.
Somehow Umbra seemed to behave like a 6-year-old girl, trying to attract his attention by crying and annoyingly voicing out its babbling and unclear opinion.
Noting that, Shane who never really thought about having his own family, decided that he would disregard such a thought for a long time because Umbra alone was enough work for him.
If Umbra was already a huge piece of work, how should this work with multiple tamed beasts in addition to having an own family??
Shane couldn't even imagine something like that and establishing a family was the last thing on his to-do list, because too many things were more important in his opinion.
After he washed up and changed into a new set of clothes, Shane took out a few dishes he already purchased a few days ago which he placed in front of him on the table.
Jumping down from his shoulder once again, Umbra devoured these dishes like they were nothing and Shane was forced to take out another batch of dishes before he himself began to eat slowly when he heard his belly grumbling.
Both he and Umbra hadn't eaten for quite some time and it was only logical for them to be hungry.
Shane wasn't sure how long he slept and he opened the system in order to figure out the date in order to roughly estimate his sleeping time.
Seeing the date, Shane was slightly shocked as he seemed to have slept roughly 24 hours.
Without caring about the dish in front of him, Shane immediately looked at his notifications to look after the [Mythic] mission he had hopefully accomplished as he read through the system notification.
[Host accomplished [Mythic-Mission] <Wealthy Merchant>. Reward: Access to purchase [Mortal-(Mythic)]Body refining manual.]
Jumping up in joy, Shane finally remembered that he sold some of the mana crystals he mined and calmed down.
If he failed the mission only because he was tired, it would be embarrassing and extremely wasteful, but completing the mission allowed him to purchase his first [Mythic] manual, as soon as he had enough funds.
Shane wasn't exactly sure how expensive the [Mortal-(Mythic] Body refining manual would be but it wouldn't wonder him if it was even more expensive than a Tier-2 (Gold) mana purifying technique due to its value.
Thinking about funds, Shane began to wonder how high his finances were, as he took a glance at his finances.
His eyes widened involuntarily while a broad radiant smile blossomed on his face.
