In a distant future the world slumbered, caught in the infinite tsukuyomi. Suspended both literally and biologically by the tree of life, every human soul sat in stasis, unthinking and unchanging, except for one.
Or maybe one half. Inner Sakura wasn’t really sure if she counted as a whole person or a half person.
She was pretty sure that the infinite Tsukuyomi had been in effect for between one hundred and one million years. Time in mindscapes and genjutsu was weird like that. She’d spent a long time, who knows how long, trying to break out of the genjutsu. Then she’d spent a long time trying to time travel herself and… outer? Sakura back. Then she’d spent a long time just trying to transfer her own consciousness backwards. It was good that inner Sakura was filled at all times with fury otherwise she probably would have given up after that plan had failed too. Sometimes she DID give up. But that was the thing about infinity. She had as much time as she wanted to give up, get bored, and get angry all over again before trying to figure something out.
Eventually she had settled for just trying to send back a message. A thought, a memory. She felt like she had saved up orders of magnitude more energy than her strength of the hundred seal, and that was the easy part. To be fair inner Sakura was just as smart as outer Sakura, even if sometimes her emotions got the better of her. Seal-less jutsu were difficult to perform but well known. Seal-less fuinjutsu was… well impossible. But seeing as how Naruto and Sasuke had turned into demigods, well, inner Sakura was well past caring about what was possible.
And so inner Sakura burnt a hole in her own mind with her supernova of built up spiritual energy, broke through the infinite tsukuyomi, performed her mind bogglingly complex fuinjutsu and began sending back her memories as fast as she could. She lasted for all of about five seconds before the suffocating blanket of tsukuyomi ruthlessly pulled itself back over her.
It would take years for her to recover. Years for her to gather enough energy to act again. But time really had lost all meaning by this point hadn’t it? And with the paradox of time-space jutsu, even if it took her 10 million years to send back 10 memories, the receiver could get them all within 10 seconds of each other.

Maybe she’d take a few years off to relax, it wouldn’t really affect the end result would it? Then she looked around at the pathetic display that subconscious Sakura had dredged up for the tsukuyomi. It was a world inhabited by 1000 semi-nude Sasukes and one delirious, drooling Sakura.Welp. Never mind that vacation. In a strange sense inner Sakura wondered if she would have had the strength to struggle for potentially hundreds of thousands of years if her surroundings had not made her constantly nauseous. That settled it; the next memory she was sending back was definitely about what a piece of shit Sasuke was. Inner Sakura realized, with an uncharacteristic show of ethical consternation, that since she would be in control of what got sent back she could tailor the memories to fulfill whatever agenda she wanted.
A nearby shirtless Sasuke was trying to give her a smoldering gaze. She dropkicked him over the horizon. “It’s about damn time I got some say in this world.”
