Ino-san
I relayed your thanks twice. Why? Because you told me to do so twice. Once at your party and once with your letter. We are glad that you like the cactus. My dad said “it is good that those plants finally have someone to take care of them properly.” I have been keeping busy as well. I have been going out and collecting rare insects with my dad. It’s sort of like a treasure hunt. Sometimes it can be very dangerous, depending on what we are looking for that day.
It’s funny you should ask about the skirting of answers, as it is what my dad did when I asked him why we had so many rare plants for you. He also shrugged off the question about whether they will bloom on the same day. I wonder if adults realize that they would be less suspicious if they just said “I don’t know” more often. I suppose they don’t want to look ignorant. Or perhaps the wish not to lie.
My father and I are unsure of what you mean by talking to “Hush” and him responding back to you. Why? Because we do not have communication like that with our families. To give you a brief answer, it sounds like Hush is either abnormally smart or that you are reading into his behavior too much. Your comment about body language was even more surprising, although neither I nor my father think you are crazy. If anything, I think it has made my father even more interested in meeting you. He said to not pressure you though, and to make sure your parents were ok with you coming over.
I am curious why you referred to the shinobi that set the arena on fire as Anko-sama. I asked my dad and he didn’t have any explanation either. Are you indebted to her in some way? I will admit to enjoying her fighting style. I assumed she would simply be an aggressive brawling type fighter, and was pleasantly surprised to see her clever uses of snakes. Snakes are another misunderstood animal, just like many insects are.
As for enjoyment of the winter festival, I too enjoy watching the jonin bouts. We had an especially thrilling evening a few nights ago, as my father’s family insisted that they had sensed unknown kikaichu in the area, but we were unable to find any proof of this. We are currently trying to decide if my father interpreted their emotions correctly, as this can be difficult sometimes.
See you at school,
Shino
