Those were the words I did not expect to here especially from a goddess.

"So what happens now?"

"There is a world that has just received magic and Some people are using it for evil. currently Thee aren't many people who can stop them and when they do they can't hold them anywhere. So I have chosen you to be a prison core of a Prison that specialises in magical prisoners. Any questions?"

"Hmm, what sort of world is it?"

"It will be similar to your last but with magic and a few other races. currently there aren't large numbers of non human races but given time they will expand. Now are you ready?"

"I am."

My surroundings turn a bright white and when it's gone the goddess is nowhere to be seen.

So I am a prison core now. Not how I expected reincarnation to be but its better than what it could have been worse. The room I am in is small at around twenty metres squared. All that is in the room is a simple stone throne a mirror and a large wooden door which I assume leads to the outside. Walking over to the mirror I see what my new appearance is.

I am a girl who looks to be in her twenties with dark skin, lion ears and tail, with Eagle like red and gold wings on my back, long black hair that fades to gold and red eyes. The clothes that I am wearing doesn't cover much just where needed with a bandage like design for my chest and a swimsuit style for the rest. Around my neck I have a black and gold usekh.

This is a very unique appearance that I didn't expect but I do like it. Now if this is an isekai there must be some sort of status.

This is interesting, so I'm a sphinx and I seem to be very powerful aswell. For my skills immortal and appraisal Should be simple enough. Can I use appraisal to look at my other skills? As I bring Up this question the screen changes.

Soul magic - you Can look into the souls of mortals to see their true desires and personality it also allows you to tell if they are lying.

Crystal magic - allows you to create and control crystals which can be used for a wide variety odlf things. Such as making weapons stronger and storing and transferring mana.

Riddle magic - As a guardian you are given a unique magic. As a sphinx yours is riddle magic. This allows you to create riddles that can either be written or spoken and if a mortal answers incorrectly you can decide what happens to them. This can be anything you desire. However, if a mortal is powerful enough they can use the riddle you created on others. The more complex the outcome the more mama it requires.

These are interesting and I will have to try them all later. However, how will these help me be a better prison and guardian? Also what am I supposed to be guarding?

Suddenly a blue box appears in front of me.

Tasks - your main task is to create and manage the best prison for magical prisoners as well as guard the world tree. The only entrance to the world tree is behind your throne so anyone wishing to get to it will have to get past you and the prison first.

The world tree is what is providing this world with magic and can provide mortals with an immense amount of power. If a mortal tries to take power from the tree they will likely end up dying in the process onky a divine being can transfer magic between the world tree and a mortal.

So I am a protector and a imprisoner. Definitely not what u expected. Now, I would try some magic but I'm not sure what I can do as there are no mortals here and I have no idea what Crystal magic does. Maybe, I can work on the prison?
