Chapter 9: Chapter 7: Prisoner Becomes a Teacher

Hello me, or anyone else reading this. I am going to inform you that the new heroes are terrible at magic. What’s more is that they don’t seem to be picking up any skills at all, so on because the princess gave me a pleading look, we are going to hold a magic class in my cell. My cell is quite large after all.

“Um, teacher? Why is the prisoner going to teach us magic?” One of the male students suddenly piped up. “Well, it is a long story, but basically this person was the original hero that was summoned here. Her name is Saori, and she will be teaching you magic.”

“Oh, is she a Japanese person?” Hey, that is rude! I am right here, but they are acting like I don’t exist. “Ahem! None of that is important. I am here to teach you magic. Don’t ask why I am a prisoner, and don’t give me those strange looks.” The students had a face that said they didn’t know why they were learning from a prisoner, even if that prisoner was a hero.

For the rest of the day, I taught the heroes the basics of magic using the first grimoire that I read. We went over affinities and how to feel the surrounding mana. Then we went over the easiest spells I knew. Several of them had a natural talent for casting, but there were some who couldn’t cast a single spell. I told them that they would be better off learning how to use a sword, or they could be like me and become prisoners. Obviously they didn’t choose to become prisoners.

As the day winded to a close, and they went back to their rooms, I spent more time with the princess. “I will only do this a few times. They are not my responsibility.” She was sitting in my lap, but I had to make it clear that I was not a babysitter or a teacher.

“That is fine, Saori. You are a much better teacher than the court wizards. I feel like this will take some of the load off of my father too.” We talked the night away after that, and she asked me many questions about Earth. I responded to all of them while watching her cute expressions the whole time. I was actually glad that I came to this world. I just wish there wasn’t this whole demon king invasion going on. Apparently, they have recently started invading the towns on the border.
