After the panel shifted, a European-style door appeared. Ji Ziming walked over and opened it. A beautiful room appeared. On the table was a set of porcelain cups; they were masterpieces of the highly acclaimed French artist, Amusa. The man won them in an auction for three million.
“Wow! Your office’s furnishing is great!” The changing walls felt like a huge construction project.
He walked up to Pei Ge as a triumph flashed across his eyes before princess-carrying the woman. “Aren’t you afraid that people will see us? Then, I’ll bring you to where others can’t see.”
“Huh? What are you doing?! It’s still daytime!”
“What’s wrong with it being daytime? Who made it a rule that people can only do at nighttime?”
“Nobody, but we’re set to visit Red Star this afternoon.”
“Since nobody made it a rule, what are you scared of? We’re going this afternoon—not now, so why are you scared?” Ji Ziming placed the woman gently on the soft, big bed. It was obvious that this room had been cleaned and even the silky pillowcases, with matching colors, were newly bought.
“Aiya! Don’t press down on me!” She wanted to push the man away but realized that she could not. He was like a stone. As he explored her body with ease, she had no strength to resist at all.
The CEO’s office was soon charged with romance, while in the Ji mansion, Qu Jingwan was racking her brains on how to reveal Pei Ge’s secret to the man’s mother.
“Auntie, Ziming brought Pei Ge out, but what to do if something happens?” She poured rose essence from French and rubbed it between her hands until it became warm. She then gently laddered it on Madam Ji’s elbow.
Lying on the bed, the older woman closed her eyes as the corners of her lips curled. This lady’s hand strength hit the spot, and she enjoyed it while the fragrance of the rose made her mood even better. Her worry about her son bringing Pei Ge out dissipated as well.
At the lady’s reminder, though, she quickly opened her eyes. “Nothing should happen; he’s always been dependable, so he’ll definitely protect her.”
“He is the boss of the company and is so busy. If his time is divided between Pei Ge and word, something can happen; what to do then? Her tummy is still so small, so what if a careless person knocks into her.”
The young lady sounded anxious and worried, and this made the older woman begin to feel concerned as well.
“What you’ve just said makes sense. They’re out for almost a day; I need to rush my son in bringing Pei Ge back home.”
“Auntie, since he has to bring her back sooner or later, why don’t you get him to bring her back now. There’re so many people out there; what if something happens to her, then our family’s…”
“Bring my phone here.” The older woman sat up and, after giving it a thought, felt that what this young lady had said truly made sense. She should not have allowed her son to bring Pei Ge out in the first place.
“Alright, auntie; wait a while.” Qu Jingwan got up and handed the phone on the wooden table to the anxious woman. Alas, nobody picked up when the latter dialed her son’s number.
It was still the same after several calls, so Madam Ji truly started getting anxious. Her facial mask also started falling because of the surfacing furrow in her brows, and it seemed like dangling skin the way it covered only half of her forehead.
“Still couldn’t get through?” Standing beside the older woman, Qu Jingwan frowned. The worry in her eyes made the former more nervous.
“I couldn’t get through; nobody’s picking up.”
“Don’t be nervous; try calling Pei Ge’s phone.”
“Oh, right. There’s still her; I forgot her number.”
The older woman looked for Pei Ge’s number in her contacts and finally found it at the end of the list. She became flustered when nobody picked up, too.
“What to do? Both of them aren’t picking up. Where do you think they are for them to be unable to answer my calls?”
“Don’t worry, auntie. They probably left their phones in the car and didn’t bring them along.”
Qu Jingwan consoled the older woman, but she kept thinking of where the couple went. From the man’s habit, his phone would not leave his side due to the company’s matters, so he had a dedicated line in case of emergency.

“Is it really like this?” Madam Ji completely removed her face mask, and the crystal water beads on her face looked like twisted routes.
“Take a seat first, auntie; your mask is gone. Let me apply a fresh one on your face. As for those two, I’ll contact them, so don’t think about them anymore.” Seeing that worry had crept up the older woman’s face, she quickly comforted her. Her voice acted like soothing balm. “Lie down quickly. This rose essence is best for women’s skin care. It protects and nourishes the skin, as well as helps us relax.”
“I’ll lie down; I’ll lie down. Still, you need to call those two until you get through. I don’t want anything else to happen to my unborn grandson.”
“I got it, auntie. Don’t worry about it anymore and just I’ll lie down fast.”
“Alright, alright, alright. If they still don’t pick up, I can’t be at ease, too.”
“No worries. I’ll apply a fresh face mask on your face now, and then I’ll call them until I get through, alright?”
“Mhm. That’ll be the best. Do you think that I should get people in the company to check what those two are up to?” Madam Ji suddenly thought of something as she turned to look at her.
Qu Jingwan took another Chanel mask and applied it on the older woman’s face. The latter did not speak clearly because of the mask on her face but still reiterated for the former to call the couple.
Once she was done applying the mask on the older woman, she dialed the man’s number, but nobody picked up, and the suspicion in her heart intensified. Could those two be doing something. The alarm in her heart rang at the thought of it.
If she could not get the man, she would rather break them up.
“Auntie, Pei Ge’s pregnancy is an important matter to the family. Nothing should happen to her as a result of Ziming bringing her out. I was probably too anxious earlier, but thinking about it now, who is your son? He’s someone nobody dares to offend in the capital. Whoever offends him doesn’t want to stay here anymore.”
“What you said makes sense, too, but I’m scared of those ignorant people. Pei Ge has just gotten pregnant, and what’s important right now is not to let my son’s arbitrariness lose me my grandchild.”
“It won’t. Still, I heard Auntie Zhang making groundless claims the other day.”
“What groundless claims?” Madam Ji closed her eyes, and the delight on her face returned to before.
“Nothing much. It’s just that she and others were being thoughtless.”
“Tell me what they talked about.”
“It’s about Pei Ge, but when I think about it now, she’s pregnant, so how could those things happen?”
“Tell me what is it? Such that you’re hesitating to speak about it.”
“I heard them saying that they discovered a suspicious stain on Pei Ge’s pants.”
“Stain?” The older woman turned to stare at her confusedly. “What stain? Period?”
“That’s right; isn’t Pei Ge pregnant right now, so do you think that they’re making groundless claims and spouting nonsense? How could a pregnant person have her period?”
There was mirth in her eyes as her scarlet lips opened and closed. “That’s why I told Auntie Zhang and the rest to stop talking about it. That’s not a funny joke. Anyway, I’m this old already, and I haven’t heard such a joke before.”
“Joke.” The older woman trusted that elderly helper of hers. Since Zhang spoke about it, it was likely true, but Pei Ge’s pregnancy was real; how could it be a lie?
However, after giving it some thought, she realized that she had not brought Pei Ge to see any other doctor. What if Dr. Duanmu’s words were false?
All of a sudden, there were many points of doubt in her mind, and since the woman in mention was not back yet, she could only stifle them.
Looking at the change in the older woman’s demeanor, Qu Jingwan was satisfied. Her red lips curled as a vicious glint surfaced in her eyes. Pei Ge might have silenced her with the threat of revealing her act of drugging Ji Ziming, but did that woman not consider that she could make use of Auntie Zhang to reveal the truth?
“Auntie, don’t take it to heart. We all know what kind of person Pei Ge is, and she respects you the most. How could she lie to you? Anyway, I don’t believe that she would lie to you.”
“She’ll know best whether she lied to me or not. She isn’t like you who understands me so well and is so filial to me. It’s still the best that you’re accompanying me. As for that woman, who knows how she has interacted with those men abroad all those years. She has her company and interacts with people from all walks of life. We don’t know her well enough, so who knows what kind of tricks she has up her sleeves.”
Listening to the older woman slandering Pei Ge, the smile on her crimson red lips deepened. “Auntie, don’t worry; we’ve seen how capable she is.”
