Pei Ge whiled away the rest of the afternoon lazily lying on that soft grass patch.
She watched the sky outside the window slowly turned dark as the sun set in the west. This was when she sat up and picked up the book beside her.
“Huuu!” Stretching lazily, she observed the small stream flow gently. Her mood improved considerably at the sight.
“Time to head home.” She giggled to herself as she made her way to the living room.
Packing her things, she did not call her chauffeur or the man and just decided to leave the villa by herself.
Once she was done locking the main door to villa, she leisurely strolled out of the place while admiring the lush greenery along the way.
Although she had to walk quite a distance from the villa to the main gate on foot, she did not feel that it was tiring at all. This was because she had literally done nothing the whole day.
However, when she arrived at the taxi stand, she did not find any passing cabs.
Even worse was that no public bus available at this time of the day.
Her mouth could not stop twitching at this.
How unlucky was she not to be able to catch a transport out of such an accessible place?
She was about to call for a cab when a black Maybach parked itself before her.
Sans the need to look inside, she was sure that the driver was the annoying fellow.
“Get in.” The dark-tinted window was wounded down, and the man’s flawless face indeed greeted her eyes.
“Oh.” She pursed her lips and quickly sat in the passenger’s seat.
The moment she got into the car, she felt the oppressive atmosphere inside.
She shifted uncomfortably as she put on her seatbelt.
“Why didn’t you wait for me?” The man’s low and grave voice suddenly cut through the silence in the car.
“Ah?” His question caught her off guard. “You didn’t say you’re coming.”
“…” The man did not expect her reply and, for a moment, stayed silent.
When the man did not speak, she lightly coughed and mumbled, “The transportation here is also quite convenient, so I thought of going home on my own.”
Who knew that he would not even bother with her explanation, though?
“What do you want to eat tonight?” he asked, instead.
“…” Her mouth twitched at his abrupt change of topic. “I want to go home and eat my mom’s homecooked food.”
“Oh.” He merely nodded at that and then wordlessly stepped on the gas to reach her home fast.
Seeing the familiar view outside, she finally relaxed.
This annoying person is really strange today. Usually, he won’t let me off this easily when I mention about wanting to go home and eat. Why didn’t he disagree today?

It feels that his purpose here is to bring me home.
The car soon rolled into her block’s carpark.
“Thank you, Ziming. I’ll be going now. Drive slowly on your…” she trailed off. Her hand, which was releasing the seatbelt, stopped mid-action.
She blinkingly watched the man release his seatbelt as well and then asked, “What are you doing?”
“Getting down.” He shrugged his shoulders.
“Why are you getting down?” Your house is not here .
“To have dinner,” he replied succinctly. He made it sound as if he was about to have dinner at a hotel and not at her house.
Her brain froze at that.
E-Eat dinner?! Did he mean that he’s coming to my house for dinner?!
“Why aren’t you not getting out?” he asked coldly. Done unbuckling his seatbelt, he reached for the door when he saw her still sitting there without moving.
His question brought her back to reality.
“Ziming, do you mean that you’re coming to my house to have dinner?” She widened her eyes in shock at him.
“What else if not that?” he countered.
“…” Her mouth twitched at his nonchalance. Oh, please. This is my house we are talking about! Don’t just go around inviting yourself to have dinner at my place, all right?! How thick-skinned can you get?!
“Get down.” He seemed oblivious to the incredulity written on her face as he hopped out of the car.
Seeing him alight, she could only follow suit.
Peng! She closed the car door and then walked to his side.
“Why do you want to have dinner at my place?” This annoying person has so many places to have dinner; why does he have to do so at my place?
Plus, there are rumors of this great CEO being a picky eater. Why would he choose now not to be picky and come to my small apartment to have dinner?
He’s not running a fever, is he?
“I’m hungry,” he replied plainly. This answer reeked of falsehood.
“…” She rolled her eyes. Hungry, my foot! You are a big CEO; how can you starve to death?
This answer is clearly an excuse! Hmph!
Although it was with reluctance, she eventually still brought him home.
Pak!
“Mom, I’m back.”
The moment she opened the door, the heady aroma of sweet potato porridge wafted into her nostrils.
She instantly guessed that her mother did not cook any fresh dishes today. Instead, the latter just boiled sweet potato porridge and heated some leftovers for dinner.
Hei hei! Let’s see if this ‘hungry’ man still wants to eat! Hmph, hmph, hmph!
