“Let’s go greet the director,” Qin Ning prompted.
Bai Liang didn’t have any objection and followed her. The vast blue sea by his side was somewhat glittering from the sunlight. The weather itself wasn’t too hot or cloudy, a very pleasant day.
On this kind of day that felt just perfect, his master would definitely challenge him in a game of luck. Magically, his intuition really became 90% accurate in perfect weather.
And it was under this perfect weather did his worst premonition came true.
Qin Ning found the director already standing by near the shooting spot and approached him while readying her business card.
“Good morning, Director Luo. I’m Su Yan’s manager, Qin Ning,” she smiled in greeting. “Thank you very much for this valuable opportunity. Our Xiao Yan will certainly work hard.”
Luo Kang turned to her and looked at the youth behind her who also bowed politely at him. He wore a slightly baggy white shirt and a thin, pink sweater vest giving him an air of clean innocence despite his lack of expression. He found that the little idol was as he was rumoured to be and was satisfied by his attitude.
“Since I can’t follow the crew to the island, I hope I won’t trouble Director too much by entrusting Xiao Yang with the crew,” Qin Ning offered him her business card. “If there are any issues or emergencies, please don’t hesitate to contact me.”
He accepted it and looked at Qin Ning in reassurance, “Su Yan will be the youngest in our crew, so we’ll definitely take care of him well. None of us will reject having a sensible little brother for a few days.”
“I will be under your care, Director Luo,” Bai Liang lowered his head. He then looked at Luo Kang with firm eyes, “I will do my best to be scared.”
Qin Ning and Luo Kang were both stunned before Luo Kang laughed out loud. He patted Bai Liang encouragingly, “Yes, yes, do your best, Xiao Yan. Don’t let your older brothers and sisters hide behind your back later.”
Xue Liang: […Master, what are you doing?]
‘Since I am borrowing this body, it is my responsibility to not damage his career and future,’ Bai Liang answered.
Xue Liang: [Don’t worry, Master. Su Yan’s soul is currently living in an illusionary space where its sole purpose is to give Su Yan a regretless life until his death. This body is entirely Master’s now.]
‘Even still, I do not want to wrong him. This is proper conduct,’ Bai Liang looked up at the sky. ‘If I do not do this least, I will feel too ashamed to face my master.’
Xue Liang: [If this is what Master wishes, then Xiao Xue will respect it.]
After greeting the director, Bai Liang was told to wait anywhere comfortable since the shooting was still an hour away. Qin Ning suggested waiting in the van to not expose himself to the sun too much before the shooting, but Bai Liang refused.
He wanted to walk and look around. Qin Ning let him and went to get in touch with the other members about their own schedules.
Bai Liang walked along the platform as he enjoyed the gentle morning breeze carrying the scent of the sea. Ever since he knew that his master survived, all his grievances seemed to slowly fade.
Out of the 3 sects he massacred, in truth, only the first and second sects were responsible for his master’s death. After that, it was only him trying to destroy the world. He had avenged his master and now that his master was alive, he was content.
He then noticed a man crouching by the edge of the platform and thought for a while. Since Su Yan’s image was inwardly attentive and caring, he should try adjusting himself to it.
Approaching the man, he slowly crouched next to the man, “Are you alright?”
When the man turned to him and their eyes met, Bai Liang felt an inexplicable thump from his heart. He was briefly confused, but he didn’t think too much of it.
Han Yi-Shen saw that the young man didn’t recognize him and forced a smile with his pale face, “I’m alright. Just a little seasick.”
Bai Liang, “?”
But they were still on land right now?
Xue Liang: [Master, this man is highly likely to have a certain fear towards the sea.]
Hearing it, Bai Liang promptly grabbed Han Yi-Shen’s arm and pulled him up to his feet. Han Yi-Shen was slightly surprised by Bai Liang’s strength despite the significant difference in their frame. Bai Liang effortlessly supported his weight and he was dragged away in his daze.
After dragging Han Yi-Shen quite far from the sea, Bai Liang found a bench at the park connected to the harbour and seated the man down. He opened his backpack and took out the water bottle that Su Yan always brought every time he went outside.
He opened the cap and handed it to the man.

Han Yi-Shen studied Bai Liang’s eyes to find that the other really didn’t recognize him. He wanted to refuse the water but Bai Liang’s earnest eyes staring straight at him made him unable to utter a single refusal.
Bai Liang watched him drink only a little and wondered whether his stomach also had problems. But it could also be a mental issue, so he reached out and pressed his thumb onto the man’s forehead. He gently massaged it while transferring his qi to soothe his mind.
Han Yi-Shen wasn’t a person who liked to be randomly touched and he himself knew that best. That was why, when his body didn’t instinctively reject Bai Liang when he reached out his hand, he felt somewhat perplexed.
Still, out of all things, he didn’t expect the youth that he just met to suddenly massaged his head. He wanted to say something to the other but then gradually felt that the dizziness in his head was slowly receding with each kneading.
Bai Liang’s thumb was fair and soft. Contrary to his earlier strength, the pressure on his forehead was nowhere near forceful. Guessing that he was being gentle to him, it inexplicably tugged the strings in his heart.
Bai Liang saw that Han Yi-Shen’s complexion recovered and retrieved his hand, “Better?”
“Yes,” Han Yi-Shen returned Bai Liang’s bottle. “Thank you.”
As Bai Liang took the bottle from his hand, he couldn’t stop himself from brushing those slender fingers. He lowered his hand and grasped onto the soft sensation at the tip of his fingers.
Bai Liang placed the bottle back into his backpack after closing it. He nodded in farewell to Han Yi-Shen and wordlessly left.
Han Yi-Shen was dumbfounded and hurriedly caught his wrist. Once he had done it and Bai Liang looked at him in askance, he wanted to ask himself as well as to why he didn’t want him to leave.
“May I know your name?” he decided to ask.
Although it was impulsive, he really was curious as to who he was. This person who inexplicably made him put down all his guards.
“Su Yan,” Bai Liang used his current name.
“Su Yan…” Han Yi-Shen repeated his name in remembrance. “I’m Han Yi-Shen.”
“Han Yi-Shen…?” Bai Liang muttered, feeling that it sounded familiar.
Xue Liang: [Master, he is one of the guests who is going to shoot the horror survival program with you.]
Bai Liang then remembered and politely bowed to the other, “I will be under your care, Senior Han. Please take plenty of rest.”
Han Yi-Shen watched Bai Liang leave in a bit of a daze. What did he mean by that?
Bai Liang returned to the harbour and checked his message. He saw that Qin Ning was looking for him and Xue Liang helped direct him to her location.
Qin Ning quickly noticed him and went to him, “Xiao Yan, where did you go? I almost thought you got lost.”
Bai Liang shook his head, “There was a sick person.”
Qin Ning sighed helplessly, “You should’ve told me and I would’ve helped. Is that person already fine?”
Bai Liang nodded.
“That’s good then. The other guests have arrived and the director is gathering everyone for a short briefing. Let’s go,” Qin Ning led Bai Liang to where the others were.
When they arrived, they politely greeted the 4 other guests there which were 2 males and 2 females. Bai Liang’s eyes swept over 2 guests in particular.
Jiang Wei and Shen Qing-Mei. The foundation of this world and its pillar.
If this was a story, then they would be the male and female protagonists. The world revolved around them and would collapse if either of them suffered a miserable life. The trajectory of their life was what heaven particularly meant as the world’s trajectory of fate.
They were fated to reach their pinnacle of life, be together despite all odds, and granted stability to the world. This was supposed to be guaranteed by the wheel of fate’s careful weaving, but not anymore.
For his master’s sake, he would make sure they fulfilled their destiny.
