Slumbering deep within a beautiful, resplendent ocean happened to be a giant of a man with wavy blue hair and beard. His body surely massive but crafted perfectly with aesthetically bulky and pleasing muscles. He continued to silently float within the ocean with his eyes shut.
The figure would have been calm if not for one foreign invader.
"Say, God of Crabs," Ja Sun muttered, utterly bored. His body floated upside down as his legs were crossed in a meditative stance while his hands were behind his head. His dark hair swayed to the gentle currents of the ocean.
"Oh, you don't mind if I call you God of Crabs, right?" Ja Sun continued, "Come on, you're going to keep ignoring me? We're both divine intents. Let's be candid— divine intent to divine intent. On a scale of 1 to 10, how erotic do you find aquatic species?"
Poseidon's brows twitched but he kept his eyes closed.
"Let's see... sharks can be ferocious and hot when out for blood but sweet when they're satisfied... I would know. I jumped into the pool with one. Hmm, oh! Pufferfish! Eh? You know, because it gets anxious and shows it through its reactions...
I guess eels can be dangerous. Like top-tier kind. You have to work for it to get down with one...
Turtles and tortoises can be the nerds..."
Ja Sun continued to name all the aquatic species he knew of. His adjectives grew more depraved with each name and Poseidon's expression grew worse. It was already bad for Poseidon when Ja Sun used half his mental energy to bait the divine intent into getting captured within its own spirit item— The Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud, but Ja Sun would also regularly 'check' on the god. His actions were depraved and rotten to the core but the intent of the god was hard to budge. After having a rather distracting conversation with Ah Yin, Ja Sun realized that his threat lacked substance until he finds the weak point of the divine intent but the stoic Poseidon revealed no such weakness.
"Say, do you know what I want from you?" Ja Sun sighed softly, "It isn't information. That's based on my curiosity regarding how to become a god and who the Bringers of the Pain are. Well, I do know that these outsiders conspired against dragons."
Poseidon's expression shifted greatly, something that Ja Sun was quick to notice, of course.
"What I want from you is just your intent. To devour the energy seeping within you. See? I feel so close to you dude. I can just unload all my problems on you and you just listen... talk about being the perfect man," Ja Sun smiled and continued to float upside down.
"But I noticed something about this Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud. Are you interested in knowing what I found?" Ja Sun snickered when he found Poseidon as responsive as ever.
He really couldn't find any weak spots but that didn't mean he couldn't bluff. Unlike the common misconception, Gods in this world are made from stronger mortals themselves so there is a chance that a bluff might work against them.
"This is your intended place of stay, this spirit tool, I mean. It probably required a part of my body, possibly my blood, to connect. I understand that gods look for successors most of the time. Surely, there won't be someone as amazing as me out there... but I would rather not have someone connect with me like that. Feels awfully similar to getting fucked, if I have to guess."
"Oh, look at that. I got sidetracked. Hey, did you know? I finally slept with Bibi Dong. You know, I told you about her. A little uptight but sweet and shy? Kind of cute, really... on the surface, she and Ah Yin have the same impression but Ah Yin... is demonic. Karma. After all, I had hand in that, hehe, and you know, something more."
"Anyway, what I meant is that this spirit tool in the form of a prism would allow someone to probably gain your legacy or you would take over the poor bloke. But... bear with me since this is an idea at its birth... what if this wasn't all? I have an understanding that the Gods... pose tests. Challenges, to be precise, to find who is worthy and who isn't. Could you perhaps be thinking the same thing?
If yes... then I believe I can find this location using this Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud. In fact, I think I already have made contact with that particular location and they may have sold out a few things that should belong to you originally."
The vast ocean rumbled slightly and Poseidon slowly opened his eyes. His sapphire pupils glared in Ja Sun's direction, each pupil bigger than his head itself. Yet, the giant set of eyes failed to intimidate Ja Sun's divine intent.
"Be careful, little bastard. I may have been kept here but that situation will not last long enough."
"Oh, really?" Ja Sun chuckled and stretched his index finger. Divine intent seeped through his form and created a part of an array. The sight of it caused Poseidon's eyes to widen.
"How's my mastery of the Divine Grace Array, God of Crabs?" Ja Sun inquired.
The possibility that this array was related to Poseidon was great since the quest rewarded him once he tackled Poseidon. And seeing his reaction allowed Ja Sun to understand that his bluff passed without any issues.
"How dare—"
"I'm going to destroy your home, Poseidon," Ja Sun's casual expression finally shifted as the world of the blue ocean suddenly began to shift into a vast pool of crimson. His tone was ominous and Ja Sun's bloodlust strengthened by his divine intent was fully unleashed. His bloodlust had changed the view of the world before when he gained his Vajra Gauntlets and this time was the same, too.
Blood stuck to Poseidon's skin as his originally wavy hair stuck to his giant body but Ja Sun seemed as free as before as if he was still in a vast ocean and not a sea of viscous blood.
"And when I kill them all out of pure pleasure, I will destroy everything you've done in this world. If you are a legend, I will make sure that not even history is reminded of you."
"What do you want?" Poseidon finally inquired with a somber expression.
"Nothing." Ja Sun smiled, "My friend. Next time I return, pray that your men don't piss me off too much. After all, I hate to be the one bringing pieces of mournful news."
With that Ja Sun's divine intent merged with the ever-present blood, disappearing from Poseidon's view but the god in question continued to observe the sent of bloodlust around him.
'This bloodlust...' Poseidon muttered inwardly, his expression serious.
"Huff... talk about being edgy," Ja Sun opened his eyes and heaved a deep sigh. Ah Yin slept beside him with a peaceful expression. She had just gone through a round of mental acupuncture a few hours ago and sleeping the stress off is simply one of the best methods. Still, with their speed, it will take a long time to push her mental fortitude past titled douluo, something that the two didn't want to waste since Ah Yin also intended to collect her reward almost ripening in the far distance.
In front of Ja Sun was a sapphire tetrahedron. The Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud. With a soft sigh, he collected the item and stored it in his storage ring.
Then, he took out nine golden bracelets and began to silently etch various runes on them, connecting the marks to form an array but it was still quite incomplete. Ja Sun was silent throughout. Bored even, as he pondered. In fact, his mastery over spirit energy made sure that he didn't even need to focus on the array and simply work instinctively.
No, he mulled over something entirely different.
'This sucks...' Ja Sun realized his situation. Nine bracelets. This was an item he was crafting for the team.
Why?
That's the issue.
He felt he knew the answer to why he was doing it without any compensation but refused to acknowledge it.
'Maybe... I can ask gold... no. We already have plenty of it and with Giant's Fortress, our pockets are getting filled with money constantly... damn, they really have nothing that would interest me. Maybe I should just not... craft these bracelets but... the idea is too great to not form.
I can make it for myself only...'
"Mmhhh, how long was I out for?" Ja Sun heard Ah Yin's soft whisper as she sat up slowly and hugged him from behind with a cooing huff.
"5 hours," Ja Sun smiled.
"What are these?" Ah Yin glanced at the nine bracelets with white patterns all over their surface.
"Gifts," Ja Sun clicked his tongue and Ah Yin quickly leaned back.
"What?" He looked back with a questioning glance.
"You expect to say such gracious words and not burst into flames?" Ah Yin frowned and his lips pursed slightly, "Listen here," Ja Sun hissed, "I'm a gracious man."
Ah Yin scooched back a bit further, humming seriously, "Maybe the effects of the words are accumulating and you'll explode in an instant."
"Shove it," Ja Sun snorted.
"I remember you giving me hell for gifting a few immortal herbs from my share," Ah Yin smirked, "And now you're going to gift something selflessly?"
"It's not selfless," Ja Sun retorted.
"What are you planning on getting in return?" Ah Yin questioned and Ja Sun silently turned back to focus on his work. Ah Yin, too, silently stared at his back with her smirk turning gentler and her eyes revealing a sense of amazement.
"I don't think anyone will think low of you if you act a little kinder," she stated softly. Once again leaning against him and coiling her arms around his chest.
"It's not about that," Ja Sun muttered, "I just... didn't want to do it."
"Then don't," Ah Yin kissed the nape of his neck.
"But I also... don't want to not do it..."
"You can just say that you want to gift instead of speaking in such a complicated manner," Ah Yin giggled.
Ja Sun grew silent again before storing the bracelets and changing the topic, "Whatever. I did find a way to isolate some energy from the Spirit Soul but that will be siphoned off entirely. So, even if you get the full benefit for your physique and spirit energy, the effect will be slightly worse for your mental energy."
"Something that will be instantly covered when I form my spirit core," Ah Yin smiled, finally letting go of Ja Sun.
"Yes, but it's all going to be a risk. Especially the divine energy stored deep within the blessed land naturally sealed by arrays and the Yin-Yang Petals."
"And? Why would I have wanted your help if I could deal with it myself?" Ah Yin inquired matter of factly and shrugged, "But didn't you say that you can find uses for divine energy? Although, I'm still not sure what the higher form of energy feels like since I'm not even able to sense it."

Ja Sun groaned, standing up, "Fine then, no point in waiting any longer."
The duo walked out of the tent made from the blue silver vines and gazed into the pool of water divided into two equal halves of red and blue.
Ja Sun once again compressed his voice and began setting up the mission for himself. Since he now understood after a week of observation what kind of beings were suppressed by Yin-Yang Petals out of sheer luck, the mission could naturally be formed since his course of action was set and the target was identified.
[Objective: Form Yin-Yang Petals Spirit Soul and find an enclosed space privately to pump your fist in.
Optional Objectives:
1) Devour the formidable fire and yang attributed divine energy suppressed by Yin-Yang Petals.
2) Devour the formidable water and yin attributed divine energy suppressed by Yin-Yang Petals.
Mission Rank: A-S-S
Mission Rewards: 300000-year-old Yin-Yang Apple— Fire Dragon King Core— Water Dragon King Core.
Time Limit: 1 hour]
'1 hour?' Ja Sun's eyes brightened. Finally! Something exciting.
"Yin, if I ask you to take a little more risk for me... what would you say?" Ja Sun inquired and Ah Yin's reply was a quick and natural one, "I would say, sure. Anyway, I'm the one who has to heal you most of the time. Oh, and of course, what would I get in return?"
"A divine lover?" Ja Sun smirked.
"Hmm," Ah Yin narrowed her eyes, "Sure, if you're saying that person is divine then I don't mind."
"Woah! You sly bitch!" Ja Sun's lips gaped as he cursed, causing Ah Yin to chuckle while she leaned forward, "Of course, you can be divine as long as you don't start questioning yourself. Lack of confidence is something even I didn't have and I have been a tree for multiple centuries."
Ja Sun scoffed, "Fine, oh, the water is going to be dangerous. Although, not as dangerous as what I'm about to do but we both knew it's a package deal."
Ah Yin nodded. While the atmosphere didn't affect her, she tried dipping into the pond and the sheer concentration of opposing attributes caused her feet to boil and freeze before lacerating them bloody. It was clear that she needed to go all out and use her spirit energy to negate the effects of the pond for the time being.
Ja Sun had also already dove into the pond to communicate with the Yin-Yang Petals. Of course, the poor bush of flowers was scared to her wits and excited to finally leave this location. But her description of the things she sealed didn't make Ja Sun fearful but only excited and if the rewards are to be believed S-ranked... then he would surely try to find a way and make use of it.
Ja Sun began to undress and Ah Yin pursed her lips. She didn't want to admit it but wearing any jewelry, especially something given to her as a gift by Ja Sun would be a waste since they will be destroyed by the pond. Once the duo undressed, Ah Yin confronted Ja Sun's leer with a scoff, "Make a move already, limp bastard!"
"You'd rather have me hard, I know that," Ja Sun nodded sagely and she scoffed. Still, Ah Yin took off her storage ring and handed it to Ja Sun who stored it within his own storage ring and covered his hands with his Vajra Gauntlets. These gauntlets proved effective against the corrosion of the pond.
"Ready?" Ja Sun inquired.
Ah Yin nodded.
While Ja Sun took the skinny dive, Ah Yin took a deep breath. Her spirit energy seeped from her body and covered her before she jumped into the pond.
'Damn!'
Ah Yin gritted her teeth.
The corrosion was much more severe than she had expected as her spirit energy was already showing signs of being severely depleted.
"Oh, come on. Why such a face?" Ah Yin heard Ja Sun's voice as he used the Yin-Yang True Illusion to project his lower body to that of a beautiful fish. Proclaiming to be a merman, Ja Sun continued to swim around Ah Yin, "How about you finally show me your sixth spirit ring? You've never used it but did say that it's your only and the strongest attack for the time being."
Ah Yin glared at the youth. She admitted... Ja Sun looked enticing with such a carefree manner but she couldn't afford such recklessness.
"Fine!"
Growling, Ah Yin's sixth spirit ring appeared for the first time.
The divided water of the pond was instantly dyed crimson as a beautiful crimson spirit ring rotated around Ah Yin akin to a bloody halo.
"My sixth spirit ring is a 100000-year-old spirit ring. It has two spirit skills," Ah Yin breathed softly as the blue silver phantom of a giant tree began to materialize around her.
"While one of the skills has the strongest attack... the second skill is my life-saving trump card... although, it feels redundant since I won't die under normal circumstances.
This is called Blue Silver Divine Invincibility. When I was a Blue Silver Empress, this skill was the same and provided me with absolute protection against any kind of attack no matter what for 5 seconds and can be used only once per day. What changed after my evolution to Blue Silver Goddess is the time limit of this skill.
Instead of 5 seconds, this skill lasts for 1 minute and can be used only once every 12 hours."
Ja Sun swam around the phantom of the tree and suddenly struck it with his fist.
*Bang*
His figure was launched deeper into the pond while Ah Yin began to descend naturally since the space within the phantom wasn't filled with water but spirit energy. She could move but even without swimming, she would sink in regardless so he didn't waste her energy in excess.
"Oh," she smiled as Ja Sun swam up with a frown, "The second skill is dubbed as my strongest attack since it only works with Blue Silver Divine Invincibility. It's called Invincible Counter. Any form of attack that lands against the phantom will be repelled to the user with the added force of five times the original attack. It's a causal skill so no matter where you are, once I'm attacked, the skill or attack will backfire without a doubt."
Ja Sun looked at his fist and then turned to look at his bloodied right arm which was healing naturally.
"Hmm, seems neat but I also get why you didn't use it."
Ja Sun replied with a nod, not minding such an injury. A wry expression appeared once Ah Yin heard Ja Sun. This skill was the literal personification of her being a tree. She could only counterattack in this form and once this skill ends, she'd be a weak target to be devoured. Even if the crimson spirit skill doesn't take too much spirit energy... it can only be used once every 12 hours. So, even if such skills are miraculous, they have greater limits, too.
The duo soon reached the bottom of the pond and Ah Yin finally came face-to-face with the Yin-Yang Petals.
"So... beautiful. That tree, can I grow like this tree, too?" Ah Yin heard a sweet, child-like female voice and she blinked.
"We are having her most definitely," Ah Yin's head snapped in Ja Sun's direction who merely shrugged as he plucked the apple that was the external collection of Yin-Yang energy.
"What was that?" Ah Yin questioned.
"Nothing," Ja Sun gave her a 'really?' look. Why would he tell her about treasures? Even if he would be getting another Yin-Yang Apple wouldn't change the fact that this much-concentrated energy can help him in various manners.
"Oh, that's the external focus of energy that I couldn't keep within myself. If I did, I'd have to breakthrough and face a terrible tribulation which would end my life."
Ah Yin glared in his direction as Ja Sun pouted, "Hey, you're getting the spirit bone, right? Give me a break."
"You're despicable..." Ah Yin snorted, "Hello," she turned to face the bush of flowers, "I'm a spirit beast that turned human, too. In fact, this tree that you see is what I looked like before... would you like to help me grow? I will make sure not to abuse you like this fellow." She pointed at Ja Sun.
"He didn't abuse me... he just plucked my fruit and made me happy..." Petals whine, defending Ja Sun this time but... her wording...
Ja Sun gagged on pond water while Ah Yin's eyes glowed. She saw great potential in this one. Truly, she was thoroughly corrupted by Ja Sun already.
"Let's start the process then. Don't you dare cheat me regarding the spirit bone," Ah Yin glared at Ja Sun.
"What do you think of me?" Ja Sun scoffed but he knew well that he just might steal it. So, he began the process since Ah Yin's skill was fading. Yin-Yang Petals cooperation made it easier for Ja Sun and while he formed the array to assist Ah Yin and Petals in finally fusing, he used his divine intent to siphon off Petals' mental energy which would have been impossible if the sweet spirit plant wasn't willing to do so. But Yin-Yang Petals' thirst for escaping this location and Ah Yin's promise to have her recovered again was all it took for the process to finally begin as blue, silver, white, and black threads of energy covered Ah Yin in a cocoon.
"This again?" Ja Sun sighed. The cocoon simply wandered within the pool while Ja Sun already felt the removal of petals affecting the blessed land. The blessed land wouldn't disappear since it had become a part of nature but the two forces lying underneath were slowly awakening.
Smirking, Ja Sun unrooted the plant's physical body since it would definitely contain a spirit bone and he stood on the bed of the pond. The forces were awakening which meant that if he wanted to strike, this would be the best opportunity.
