There were going to be 100,000 players participating in the first round from the East Coast Training Center, and a total of 10 million from all over the world. Having the knowledge that could potentially help save that many lives from dying subconsciously burdened Alan.

Alan had been giving this matter a great deal of consideration for a while now.

At first, Alan thought now that he was basically living a second life, he should do his best not to create any major alteration to the history. By doing things in this manner, he would still be able to utilize the knowledge about the future for his benefit in the upcoming Apocalypse Game.

After all, there was actually no guarantee that spilling the game details would prove to be of any help to the players in any way. It might even lead to chaos.

With the fact that the life of his little girl was literally on the line, Alan understood that he needed to make this selfish decision to raise his chance of success as high as possible.

His resolve only strengthened when he came to visit his daughter in the hospital the next day. He already knew the stage of his daughter's health at this period of time, but seeing her pitiful condition directly again inadvertently brought out the memory of her death.

-

Alan entered the hospital room and saw the little girl was half asleep. The sight in front of him broke his heart once again. After merely 3 months of separation, she had become much thinner. Her face was pale while her beautiful hair had been shaved clean.

In that instant, the memory of what happened to his little girl in his previous life flashed vividly. Just like now, this sight was what ultimately persuaded him to decide to take part in the game in his previous life.

Sensing someone coming beside her bed, the girl's eyelashes trembled as she slowly opened her eyes. A frail smile made its way on her face when she saw it was him, and then she spoke in a weak voice.

"Daddy.. you are back…"

Alan quickly grabbed the hand of the girl who was reaching out to him, forced a smile on his face, and said, "Yes, sweetheart. Daddy is here..."

Again, with a voice barely containing any strength she spoke, "You must be surprised, aren't you, Daddy? I look hideous."

"Me? No no... I am not surprised at all… you always look hideous," said the father jokingly, in an attempt to lighten the gloomy atmosphere. And fortunately, it worked.

"What! You are meanie!"

Alan chuckled, then he hugged the little girl immediately and whispered,

"You're not hideous, sweetheart. You are a beautiful girl, and when you get better you will be even more beautiful; Daddy will make sure of that."

After that, he took out a gift from his back, a white and blue figure doll of the Himalayan folklore monster – Yeti. It was posing with its two large furred arms raised to the air, its legs wide open, and mouth opened wide as if it was roaring.

"Oh my.. this is so ugly, Daddy…but I love it!" exclaimed the little girl which made Alan let out a small laugh.

-

After he visited his baby girl, Alan changed his mind . It was only after seeing her once again that he came to a realization.

What happened with him was currently happening with 10 million other people, and he knew that deep down he wouldn't be able to go on if he actually turned his head away from this. But still, he needed to make a hard decision. He needed to draw a line.

That was when he decided to input the information he thought would be helpful in a USB drive and then sneaked at night to give it to someone he trusted, which was Colonel Weeber.

There was actually not that much information, but it should be enough to save more lives if used properly. Either way, the thing was already in the colonel's hand now.

If history changed because of him, so be it. After all, that is why he is here.

To change history.

Now that history might deviate from what he knew from this point, Alan just had to make do with more flexible plans.

During the next few days, between visiting his daughter, Alan basically turned his flat upside down as he filled it with his plan for the game. At the same time, the letter confirming Nims' eligibility to participate in the upcoming Apocalypse Game finally arrived.

There were only a few days remaining before the Apocalypse Game finally began, so he had to make the most of the time he had left.

He wrote down all possible quests, items, and plots of the Year 5 of Apocalypse Games that he could remember from his previous life, and then briefed as well as thoroughly ran down Nims about them all.

"Nims, for the first round, I need you to memorize this map. It's very important!" Alan said as his finger ran across a handmade sketch of a map. "Also, keep it in mind for the second and third games."

With all the talk about the past and future, Nims was one step away from declaring that Alan had gone cuckoo, but because of his oath, the monk decided to give Alan the benefit of the doubt.

After ensuring that all the plans and preparations were set, Alan went to visit the hospital one more time. This time, he told his daughter that he would be leaving again for yet another important matter.

"There is something that Daddy has to do…"

The girl looked at him with much concern, and said, "You.. got drafted, didn't you Daddy?"

Alan heaved a sigh. In a moment like this, he regretted why his little one was too smart for her age. He looked at his daughter who was about to cry, he rubbed the back of her hand and said in a reassuring voice,

"Hey, it's ok, sweetheart. Don't you worry... Daddy will be back, I promise"

The girl was silent despite the reassurance Alan gave her. Seeing this, Alan inwardly sighed. Alas, this was something that he had to do. Afterward, he gave her a kiss on the forehead, and said,

"I love you."

Day - 5 until the advent of the Apocalypse Game.

A ring came from his mobile phone as Alan received a message. Without further ado, he took the phone out of his pocket and checked it.

[Priority One Alert]

[Please report to your local MEPS office to confirm your draft status]

To ensure all 100,000 players were accounted for, on Day minus 5, all players were sent a message containing official warning, forcing them to go and enlist into the training center. As for those who ignored the messages and were detected trying to escape, they were swiftly tracked down and taken away by force.

Just like what he had done in his previous life, this was the same time Alan came to the training center.
