Are light novels canon?
Though each book is illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto, they are written by different authors. And yes, they are part of the canon continuity. All books in the Hiden series have been moved to separate pages.
What are Japanese light novels written in?
Most light novels use more hiragana and katakana, kanjis make up about 30% of a Light Novel. And about 5% of these kanji have furigana. Light Novel are not like mangas, where the genre “shounen” always has furigana.
Is it worth learning Japanese to read light novels?
