Chapter 26: Chapter 26 – A Portal?

Now that I have my new cell phone, I have configured it and bought a number to make calls. Not only that, but I also contracted an internet service.

Now I can use the Internet on my cell phone.

"It will be difficult to carry this laptop on the bike. If it falls off, I will be in a tough situation." Will they accept a refund if something happens?

"Don't say that. I want you two to be friends from now on. You are going to live together, after all."

"I'll try..." She didn't sound very convincing, but I couldn't do anything but believe her. I'll be fine if the two of you don't get into a physical fight.

I don't want Bulma to be turned into dust by Rias... I need her, and I don't know if I can summon her again if she dies. It's true! What happens if a character I summoned dies? I never thought about that.

Will the character disappear, or can I summon it again in the future? I don't want to find out.

"Rias, I'm going upstairs to read for a bit. If the man who will install the Internet comes, call me."

"Okay, I'll do that. In the meantime, I'll keep taking a better look at that laptop."

"Well, there's not much you can do since we don't have Internet at home yet. Oh, and I forgot to show you this." I pulled my cell phone from my pocket.

"A cell phone. That's right... You didn't have one before."

"I had one in the past, but I had to get rid of it. But it couldn't compare to this one."

"I see... You are spending a lot of money, aren't you?"

"Don't judge me. It's been a long time since I've had money to buy things. We couldn't afford these things even when I lived with my mom and dad."

"I don't judge you."

"Okay, I will start reading a new manga upstairs."

"New manga? You like manga that much?"

"Yes, a bit."

"I like it too. Which one are you going to read?"

"Fate/Stay Night"

"Never heard of it."

"Huh? It seems to be pretty famous."

"Seriously?"

"Yes."

"You could let me read it later."

"Sure. Now I'm going upstairs. Try to get along with Bulma."

"Yeah, I got it." Rias sighed and went back to using the laptop.

I walked up the stairs and made my way to my bedroom. Once I got there, I opened the system and selected the first Fate/Stay Night volume to start reading. "It's strange that Rias doesn't know that manga. It seems pretty famous." That may not exist in her world.

She is from an alternate world, after all...

A few hours passed, and I finished reading two volumes. It was a quick read and very enjoyable. It is not a fantastic work, but it entertains a lot. I only stopped reading because I had to go downstairs.

The man who was going to install the Internet had arrived.

The man had brought the documents, and I signed them. After that, the man installed the Internet. He put in a modem and a router to make the wifi work.

It was quick. The Internet was a little expensive, $120 a month, but the speed was very high, about 1000Mb/s. I don't even need all this Internet, but I still chose the best one possible.

And now, with the Internet installed, I can use my laptop and do online shopping. I didn't need to visit an internet cafe to do this anymore. Even from my cell phone, I could shop.

Shopping, in this case, is new manga and novels.

After testing the Internet, I left the laptop with Rias and returned to the second floor. I lay down on my bed and removed volume 3 of Fate from my "bookshelf." But I was a little lazy to read.

"I can leave it for later. I'll get some sleep now. I haven't received a new mission, and I don't need to worry about anything now."

I turned on the air conditioner and closed my eyes to sleep.
