As the car drove further and further away and almost reached the mountains, Luna was getting somewhat nervous. “Won’t it be somewhat dangerous for us to get on the mountains at this time?”

Alexander shook his head and said, “No, we’re almost there.”

About five minutes later, the black car had stopped when they were halfway on the mountain.

Alexander and Luna exited the car, and he walked over and put his coat over her shoulders. He then pulled his hand and said, “We need to walk a bit. Be careful where you’re walking on.”

Luna answered with an okay then held Alexander’s hand.

His hand was warmer than others, and she didn’t mind if she had to continue walking down this path forever.

After walking for a while, a pagoda appeared in front of them.

Alexander led her up the stairs and then helped her stand in front of the railings.

From here, the lights under the mountains looked very small and dim. However, the moon in the sky was so large that it looked like they were nearby.

“This place is so beautiful!” Although Luna had seen plenty of scenery in the past, her heart somehow calmed down at this moment.

“I’d come here when I am alone to look at the scenery. Sometimes, I would stay here for one whole day,” Alexander wrapped his arm around her shoulders. “From here, I can see the entire Auburn, but it makes me feel like I’m far away from all their bustles. This place is quite close to the night sky as well, and I like this place a lot.”

Luna looked at the moon hanging in the night sky. She could feel herself being bathed in the light of the moon. “I like it a lot, thank you,” She said.

“As long as you like it,” Alexander patted her head and then grabbed his phone and made a call. “We’re ready. You can begin!”

In less than three seconds, countless fireworks began to streak across the night and exploded in the sky.

Luna could only cover her mouth in surprise and exclaim, “Wow!”

The fireworks were so dense as if they would never end, and they kept on firing into the night sky. The cold, lonely night sky had become a painting of bright, vivid flowers.

She held her head up high, and her smile was so beautiful that nothing could compare to it.

The fireworks and her beauty, were like paintings.

Suddenly, there was a kiss on her lips. It was deep and affectionate.

Luna was shocked at first but instantly drowned in his embrace.

She seemed to hear a low, hoarse voice rang in her ears. “You like me now? Hm?”

Alexander had his hand around her waist. While there was no answer, her head buried deeper into his caress.

He was not in a rush. He waited until the fireworks had stopped, then stood in the silence under the moonlight for a while, before guiding her down the mountain by holding her hand.

The two of them didn’t say anything, but she didn’t feel that awkward anymore.

While they were on their way back, Luna looked at all the lights from the lamp posts zipping by. She suddenly began to speak, “Although my dad doesn’t care that much, he knew what was going on. Flora and his other two children only had a small amount of wealth despite staying with us for so long.”

Alexander then said, “But he didn’t protect you, and that means he’s still unforgivable.”

He could not tolerate a man who couldn’t even protect his own daughter from being abused and condemned for so many years no matter how he thought about it.

Luna then smiled and said, “True. While he knew all this, he was still quite emotionally distant.”

The original had a father like that and then came a stepmother and the children of hers. There was no doubt that she had a tough life.

Alexander then said, “Don’t worry. From now on, you only need me.”

He said it with a serious tone, and warmth raised in Luna’s heart.

She originally didn’t want to depend on anyone else, but for some reason, as soon as Alexander appeared, she would feel at ease.

It was a very strange feeling. She couldn’t help but suspect that she had really fallen in love with Alexander some moment ago.

When it was night, Luna immediately jumped into bed after she said good night to Alexander.

Melody had sent her a few text messages, asking her what she had been doing.

Luna thought for a while and then told her what had happened tonight.

After she had sent it out, Melody then directly gave her a call.

“Luna, your moment is really here at last! When are you going to get the marriage certificate? I want to be your bridesmaid, you hear me?!”

“Not so soon! I still have something that I need to deal with first. But seriously, after what Alexander did, I really can’t grow to dislike him.”

“Who would? If it were me, I would be so happy that I could fly, alright?”

“That exaggerated? I don’t even know if I like him right now.”

“What? Do you know if the girls from Auburn heard what you said, they would cut you into pieces?”

“But I seriously don’t know! He’s a good man, but I’m not sure what will happen after this. I’m scared of falling for him. What if… What if he only wants us to be husband and wife in name only?”

“How is that even possible? If that’s the case, he wouldn’t have brought you to see the moon and arranged for the fireworks, right? Seriously, even the servants from my family were asking who could be so rich to arrange for such a long firework show! What are you afraid of?”

“Afraid? I’m afraid?”

“Right! I think you’re feeling afraid! You’re afraid to know if he really likes you or if he’s just toying with you.”

Luna lay on her bed and browsed Facebook through the night.

Could Melody be right?

When Luna woke up the next day, Alexander was still in the mansion.

The two of them had breakfast together and only after then was he prepared to go to his company.

After wearing his coat, Alexander looked at Luna standing there, and asked, “You’re not going to see me off?”

“To your company?” Looking at Alexander’s burning eyes, Luna pretended that she didn’t know what he meant. “I don’t think that’s appropriate.”

Alexander, “…”

Alexander said, “I mean seeing me off to the door.”

Luna, “…”

Alexander then said, “Fine. Bye.”

He was thinking of getting a kiss, but it didn’t seem possible today.

He had time, however. There was always next time.

Looking at Alexander’s slight disappointment, Luna pursed her lips and said, “Take care.”

Alexander answered with a stuffy “right” as he walked out of the mansion.

Mrs. Niles walked over with a cup of warm milk and asked, “Madam, Mr. White only looked cold on the outside. You don’t have to be afraid of him.”

Luna took the cup of milk and asked in confusion, “Did I look like I was afraid of him?”

Mrs. Niles nodded and said, “Not in the past. But lately, you look like you are avoiding Mr. White. If this goes on for too long, Mr. White would be sad.”

Luna didn’t move as she held the cup of milk. Her eyes had a torn look in them.

When Mrs. Niles saw this, she then said, “Mr. White loves drinking hand-ground coffee. I can teach you. Do you want to learn it?”

Luna gave it a thought, and nodded. “Sure.”

Mrs. Niles let out a pleased smile and said, “You have just started to stay together. You’ll get used to it eventually. Mr. White is a really good man.”

Luna said yes to her but couldn’t really tell what she was feeling.

She, Zenthia’s top assassin, was afraid?

If this spread, everyone would be laughing about it!
