Chapter 106: It Was Clearly You Who Chased Me First!

As soon as Zheng Zhigang got out of the police station, he rushed to the hospital. It wasn’t until he got to the hospital that he learned of his daughter’s condition. She had only suffered some superficial injuries and nothing else. It was a false alarm, and she would be fine after some rest. Zheng Zhigang heaved a sigh of relief and was secretly glad that they found her in time. Otherwise, if anything bad happened, he would definitely regret it for the rest of his life.

Seeing that Zheng Shujun’s neck was bare, she probably lost the talisman which Chi Shuyan had given to her during the college entrance exam. Before Chi Shuyan left, she gave Zheng Shujun another talisman, along with one for Zheng Zhigang, and reminded him not to take it off.

Zheng Zhigang naturally thanked her profusely and was filled with gratitude. When he thought of how he had once stupidly questioned this Master’s words, he felt extremely ashamed and decided to pay her a visit someday.

“Uncle Zheng, there’s no need to send us off. Shujun still needs someone to take care of her here.” Chi Shuyan noticed that Zheng Zhigang seemed to want to send them to the hospital entrance.

Zheng Zhigang hesitated before nodding. Although his daughter wasn’t injured, she was also badly frightened. If he didn’t keep watch here, he was afraid that Zheng Shujun wouldn’t be able to find him when she woke up.

“Shuyan, you have no idea how cool you were when you beat up that bunch of scumbags. It’s a pity I didn’t take a video.” Li Xiaoting looked at Chi Shuyan in adoration and suddenly thought of something. “We just left them alone. What if they scam other people online again?”

Chi Shuyan smiled. “They probably won’t get the chance.”

Those three people had a lot of lives on their hands, which could easily see them sentenced to death.

Hearing Chi Shuyan’s answer, Li Xiaoting was relieved. She was about to curiously ask another question, when she saw, out of the corner of her eye, a car not far away that was following them at an unhurried pace.

“How dare that pervert stalk someone in broad daylight? Watch me send him to the police station in a few minutes.” Li Xiaoting rolled up her sleeves and rushed at the car. She knocked on the window and opened her mouth to curse: “Hey, you…”

But when the window rolled down and Li Xiaoting got a good look at the person sitting in the car, her curses came to a screeching halt. The flames were instantly extinguished and she stared stupidly at the man sitting inside.

The man in the car was wearing a well-pressed silver-gray suit and had meticulously styled hair and a well-defined side profile. His thick eyebrows slanted upward and he had deep eyes, a high nose, and thin lips. He was a picture perfect handsome man.

Qi Zhenbai’s thick eyebrows furrowed slightly and he looked somewhat displeased. His pair of obsidian-like phoenix eyes looked coldly at Li Xiaoting. Stabbed by this man’s cold, blade-like gaze, Li Xiaoting immediately snapped back to her senses and apologized with a flushed face. “Sorry, sorry, I thought you were a pervert stalking us.”

As soon as Li Xiaoting said that, she really wanted to bite her tongue. What nonsense was she spouting? What pervert? This gentleman had a classy, elegant hairstyle, looked better than a celebrity, and had an imposing aura. He clearly wasn’t an ordinary person.

Rather than stalk her, it was more believable if she was the one coming forward to feign being hit.

Qi Zhenbai glanced coldly at Li Xiaoting, then shifted his gaze to a spot not far behind her, and said in a deep and pleasant voice, “Shuyan, get in the car!”

When Qi Zhenbai saw that Chi Shuyan didn’t move, he tutted softly, not quite understanding what this woman was throwing a tantrum about again. He opened the car door and strode out on his lean, long legs toward Chi Shuyan.

Chi Shuyan had long been aware that someone was following her, but she didn’t expect it to be Qi Zhenbai. The moment she thought of how this man had forcefully taken advantage of her last night, she was filled with fury. She took a deep breath and tried to sound as calm and distant as possible. “Young Master Qi, thank you for your kindness, but there’s no need. Xiaoting, let’s go.”

Li Xiaoting was stunned and dumbstruck. Her mind raced with thoughts of how Shuyan knew this classy man. It wasn’t until Chi Shuyan called her a few times that she reacted.

“Young Master Qi? Hmm?” Qi Zhenbai’s handsome face sank a bit, looking displeased. He raised his thick eyebrows, put a hand on Chi Shuyan’s shoulder, and whispered softly and dangerously close in her ear, “Shuyan, if you call me by the wrong name again, I can only do my best to let others know what our relationship is.”

Chi Shuyan’s face stiffened as she recalled what happened last night. She glared at him and tried to take his hand off her shoulder, but failed. She smiled insincerely and said, “We never had any sort of relationship to begin with.”

“Never?” Qi Zhenbai’s handsome face was so dark that ink was about to drip from it. He stared fixedly at Chi Shuyan, exuding a cold, low pressure from head to toe. He gnashed his teeth and said coldly, word for word, “Do you dare say it again?”

Chi Shuyan was startled. Looking at the way Qi Zhenbai was suppressing his fury with a murderous look between his eyebrows, she felt his grip on her shoulder tighten, as if he would crush her bones if she said another word that displeased him.

Chi Shuyan had never seen Qi Zhenbai so angry before. She opened her mouth halfway.

She wanted to say that the two of them had nothing to do with each other, but even she didn’t have the confidence to say it. She was the one who had kissed him first and provoked him in the first place, which made her look like a scumbag.

Chi Shuyan swallowed her saliva and further recalled how she had heard of Qi Zhenbai’s hard and ruthless methods on the streets in her previous life. She didn’t want to be enemies with this kind of person, so she tactfully said, “Actually, the incident at Sandalwood Garden was just an accident. I really didn’t mean to…” Forcefully kiss you. She didn’t say the last few words.

When Qi Zhenbai saw that Chi Shuyan didn’t say the words, his taut handsome face relaxed slightly, and he didn’t hesitate to fill in the blanks for her. With a cold snort, he snapped, “I thought you forgot. It was you who shamelessly pursued me first; now that you’ve caught me, it’s no longer a novelty? Every time you open your mouth, you talk about breaking up. Why are you so fickle?”

Chi Shuyan was rendered speechless by Qi Zhenbai’s remarks. Who was fickle? This man was too narcissistic; his imagination was a disease that had to be cured. Who chased him?

“No, I already said that what happened last time was an accident, an accident!” Chi Shuyan pursed her lips, her head aching terribly, and she said gingerly, “Getting together after just one kiss is too hasty.”

Qi Zhenbai nodded like it was a serious matter. His face was earnest and solemn as his eyes roving teasingly over her soft lips. “Wasn’t it more than one kiss? Isn’t that official enough?” He suddenly changed the topic and curled his lip. “If I hadn’t stopped you at that time, you probably would have forced yourself on me. Do you still want to deny it?”

“I didn’t!” Chi Shuyan fell backward in anger. Why couldn’t she make it clear to this man? She suddenly remembered that Li Xiaoting was still standing on the side, and her face stiffened. She turned her head and looked at Li Xiaoting, who was covering her flushed face and letting her imagination run wild. Although she knew it was futile and that she might make things worse the more she tried to explain, Chi Shuyan still couldn’t help but squeeze out a smile. “He’s kidding.”

“I’m sorry, I suddenly remembered that I have something on at home, so I won’t disturb you guys anymore. I’ll be going first.” Li Xiaoting ran off with her blushing little face in her hands at top speed.

Seeing her like this, Chi Shuyan knew that she had definitely understood. She slapped her forehead. She always felt that trying to explain things further would shorten her lifespan by ten years, so she might as well drop the pot the whole way and couldn’t be bothered to say more.

“Don’t you have to explain to me what’s going on with that man?” Qi Zhenbai asked abruptly.

“What man?”

Qi Zhenbai didn’t speak for a long time, his dark eyes staring straight at her as he gripped her shoulder forcefully. It was only when her scalp crawled and her hair stood on end that he slowly spoke, his tone as cold as ice and dangerous. “I don’t care what kind of man it is; behave yourself and don’t challenge my bottom line, otherwise…” I can’t guarantee I won’t do anything. He didn’t say the rest.

Chi Shuyan was dumbfounded. Qi Zhenbai was jealous, but who was he jealous of?

“Get in the car, I’ll take you back!” Seeing that Chi Shuyan wasn’t talking back anymore, Qi Zhenbai finally felt a little better. But seeing that she was stiff and unmoving, he turned around and raised an eyebrow. “Do you want me to carry you into the car?”

Chi Shuyan hurriedly shook her head like a rattle drum and got into the car, feeling mentally tired.

Chi Shuyan didn’t notice that when she got into the car, someone was snapping photos from not far away.
