Chapter 1117: Ghost Substitute, The Talismans Are Useful

The group of people were panicking and only thinking about running away. At that moment, except for Xiao Ningjin, a few of them finally reacted. Wei Panyang was still half-dead from his head being pressed into the water by that ghost thing.

They looked at the washroom and saw the warped, blotchy, ugly face grinning maliciously at them. They then looked at Wei Panyang’s half-dead face, and their hearts turned cold. They panicked and trembled all over.

“What should we do? What about Old Wei?”

“Yeah, what about Old Wei? Are we really going to watch him die?”

They were all friends, so they couldn’t really watch Wei Panyang die. If it was some criminal who had captured Wei Panyang, they still had a chance.

But no one had the guts to rush in and face such an ugly ghost. One look and their legs turned to jelly.

Seeing how “Fang Yinglong” had turned into such a ghost thing, their hearts trembled. They were afraid the same thing would happen to them. How on earth did they provoke this thing?

Thinking of how they had probably provoked this thing when they went out on a trip, they all regretted it. Why did they have to go on a trip back then?

Thinking back to Wang Yu and Shen Zhihua’s sudden and inexplicable deaths, Chang Hao’s lips trembled in horror. He looked at the door and saw that it wasn’t open yet. Chang Hao couldn’t help but say with a pale face, “Can’t the door be opened yet? We won’t be the ones to die after Wei Panyang, right? I don’t want to die!”

With that last sentence, Chang Hao, a big man, cried a little as he hurriedly kicked the door, but it was like iron and couldn’t be pulled open.

“I don’t want to die either!” someone suddenly shouted.

The others were also anxious. Since they couldn’t open the door, they kicked it, but it was useless. Some even took out their phones to call for a server to open the door, but not only was the screen black, there was no signal even if they could turn on their phones.

Xiong Luoying was lucky. Not only did his phone turn on, it also had a signal. He was a bit excited, and just as he called out in a low voice, a woman’s sharp laugh rang out on the other end of the line. “What’s the matter?”

Xiong Luoying was so scared that he smashed his phone on the spot.

The others were also scared out of their wits.

Shi Ran’s face suddenly changed and he shouted, “He’s out! He’s out!”

The thing in the bathroom threw Wei Panyang to the floor and staggered out stiffly – who knew if Wei Panyang was still alive. As the sound of a woman’s laughter and opera dirge filled the air, the ceiling lights flashed from time to time as the thing walked stiffly toward them.

A strong putrid smell of water wafted over.

Xiao Ningjin, who was the bravest among them, was scared out of his wits by the ghost thing. His face turned pale, his limbs turned to jelly and his mind went blank.

“Holy sh*t! Run!” Chang Hao and Xiong Luoying screamed, and the two of them along with Shi Ran took off at once. As soon as they ran, Jiang Duo and Xiao Ningjin could only follow.

But this private room was only so big. Unless they opened the door, where could they run to?

As they ran, the thing chased after them, laughing and singing. They were so scared that they were practically ready to jump off the balcony from the 20th floor. They were so high up, however, so no one dared to do so. As they ran, they cried bitterly and shouted for help on the balcony. They screamed themselves hoarse, but there was no response at all. Seeing that the ghost thing was catching up, they didn’t dare waste their strength and ran desperately.

“Shi Ran!” Jiang Duo suddenly screamed. Everyone looked over and saw that the thing had forced Shi Ran into one corner of the balcony. He was dead for sure.

Obviously, the group realized that the ghost thing seemed to be very vengeful and had been chasing Shi Ran most of the time.

Xiao Ningjin wanted to lure the ghost thing into chasing him, but the thing gave him a creepy look before its gaze rested on a deathly pale Shi Ran, who was about to collapse on the floor. It smiled broadly. “I caught you!”

Shi Ran was cold and horrified at the sight of the bloated, ugly ghost thing. He pressed up against the wall and trembled in horror. “No! No! No…”

“I caught you! I caught you!”

Shi Ran’s legs trembled. Seeing the thing walk toward him, the blood rushed into his head. Without thinking, he turned around and wanted to jump off the hotel balcony.

“Shi Ran!” Xiao Ningjin choked with sobs and roared.

The ghost thing, on the other hand, was a step faster. Before Shi Ran could jump, it suddenly grabbed his neck, and it opened its mouth wide in extreme delight and malevolence. “I caught you! I finally caught you!”

Xiao Ningjin and the others heaved sighs of relief when they saw that Shi Ran hadn’t jumped. In the blink of an eye, a sharp dagger appeared in the thing’s hand at some point, and it suddenly stabbed Shi Ran. “Who said you could run? Who said you could run?!”

Shi Ran screamed, but the ghost thing didn’t stop. It stabbed the same spot more than a dozen times in a row.

Bright red blood splattered all over its face.

The ghost thing licked the blood, and blood flowed like a river on the floor. Smelling the blood, the thing went crazy with malevolence and excitement. It continued to stab a few more times until Shi Ran’s screams grew weaker and weaker, and he finally stopped making any sound.

When Xiao Ningjin and the others saw Shi Ran lying in a pool of blood with his eyes wide open, their eyes turned red with disbelief and horror. They then saw the thing walk toward them with the sharp, bloody dagger.

The group finally realized how savage this thing was. They panicked and staggered back, their faces incomparably terrified.

Xiong Luoying and Chang Hao swallowed their saliva and couldn’t even speak. Their fingers twitched. Xiong Luoying pulled at his hair and cried, “What should we do? What should we do? Ningjin, Ah Duo, are we going to die? Are we going to die here tonight?! No one can escape?”

These proud “sons of heaven” usually led sheltered lives and had never seen such a cruel and hair-raising scene. As long as they looked at the lifeless Shi Ran in the pool of blood on the floor, their bodies would turn cold from head to toe.

Xiong Luoying looked at Xiao Ningjin, who was the calmest, and reached out to ask him what to do. When he touched him, he felt Xiao Ningjin trembling violently. He then touched Ah Duo, who was trembling even more violently.

Xiong Luoying couldn’t help but feel even more despair.

“I don’t want to die. My parents are still waiting for me to go home!” Chang Hao suddenly said.

Jiang Duo was usually brave, but now that Shi Ran was really dead and that thing was walking over, he was so scared that his whole body trembled. Not only did his limbs turn to jelly, he almost pissed himself.

Xiao Ningjin reacted first and told everyone to scatter. Only then could they die slower. No one wanted to die. Now, it was up to fate.

Before the three of them split up and ran, Jiang Duo suddenly thought of the talismans which Master Chi had given to him. He quickly grabbed Chang Hao and Xiong Luoying, who were running slower.

Chang Hao and Xiong Luoying, who were suddenly grabbed, were scared out of their wits. They screamed sharply, afraid that the ghost thing had caught them.

Jiang Duo gritted his teeth and said, “Where are the talismans from Master Chi? Give me one!”

Chang Hao and Xiong Luoying were scared out of their wits. Without thinking, they hurriedly said, “Ah Duo, run! Those talismans are useless!”

What use was that thin piece of paper against a ghost thing like that?

“Rubbish, give me one!” Jiang Duo firmly believed in the talismans which Master Chi had given him.

As soon as Jiang Duo said that, Xiao Ningjin also remembered the talismans which the self-proclaimed “Master Chi” had given to him. He was calmer than the others and knew that unless that talisman was really useful today, everyone here would die. They might as well take a gamble.

So, when the ghost thing caught up with him first, he gritted his teeth and took out a talisman from his pocket.

Xiao Ningjin didn’t have much hope after throwing the talisman out. After throwing it, he hurriedly ran away, only to hear a mournful scream behind him. Xiao Ningjin turned his head and saw black smoke suddenly rise from Fang Yinglong’s body. His face flickered to reveal the bloated face of a woman with long hair as he staggered and fell to the floor.

“Useful! Useful!” Jiang Duo watched Ningjin throw a talisman at that thing, and he was extremely excited.

Xiong Luoying and Chang Hao didn’t expect this yellow paper talisman to really be useful. They were stunned for a moment, then suddenly wept bitter tears and howled, “Useful! Useful!”
