At the military training today, Chi Shuyan saw Counselor Zhang again. She saw the dense cadaveric qi which covered his face. She almost couldn’t see his face clearly, and her expression quickly changed.
It seemed that the Safety Talisman wasn’t of much use.
That afternoon, Chi Shuyan heard that Counselor Zhang’s child had broken his leg and had been sent to the hospital. She asked someone for the hospital’s address. Leaving the university, she specially bought some fruits before she went to the hospital.
At the hospital, only Counselor Zhang’s wife and child were around. His wife’s surname was Huang, and she was a primary school teacher. She was quite delicate and pretty, but at a glance, one could tell that she was the classic example of a gentle, virtuous, and kind-hearted wife and mother.
The first thing Chi Shuyan saw was the thick cadaveric qi on the forehead of this Counselor Zhang’s wife. It was even more serious than the one on Counselor Zhang, and the black cadaveric qi even glowed red.
Generally speaking, this sort of person was destined to die without a doubt, and it would be an extremely tragic death. There was a high chance that the grievance after death would be so big that the soul would turn into a malicious spirit. Yang Mingwei, whom she had seen in Lu Chengfu’s dormitory, had been like this.
So, Chi Shuyan had advised Lu Chengfu to stay as far away from Yang Mingwei as possible. There was no benefit in getting involved with such a person.
But this Counselor Zhang’s wife was clearly different from Yang Mingwei. Apart from the cadaveric qi, Chi Shuyan actually saw a faint golden light on her.
This kind of golden light was rare, and naturally represented merit. Usually, those with golden light on them were good people who had never done anything wrong in their lives and who were conscientious and whole-hearted.
There really weren’t many such people.
Chi Shuyan had a very good first impression of Counselor Zhang’s wife and didn’t want such a person to not only die an unnatural death, but also such a tragic one. She restrained her expression and took the initiative to bring the fruit over as she said, “Ma’am, I’m a language major student under Counselor Zhang’s care. I heard that his son fell and injured his leg, so I’m representing the entire class to come and see the little guy.”

When Counselor Zhang’s wife, Teacher Huang, learned that Chi Shuyan was her husband’s student, and that she had brought a few bags of fruits to visit the child, Teacher Huang was grateful, and kindly invited Chi Shuyan to sit. She poured her a cup of warm water and said, “Child, you didn’t have to come or bring fruit with you. Come and sit down!”
Teacher Huang touched the bed and stared curiously at her son’s guest as she called for him.
Counselor Zhang’s son was called Zhang Xiaoyang, and his nickname was Yangyang. He was five years old this year and had been taught by the two teachers to be polite. After looking curiously at Chi Shuyan for a while, he obediently said in a childish voice, “Sister!”
Chi Shuyan had always liked children, especially obedient ones. Moreover, combining Counselor Zhang and Teacher Huang’s strong points, this little guy was very good-looking. It seemed that he would be a handsome guy in the future.
Chi Shuyan stroked the little guy’s head and took the initiative to say, “My surname is Chi!”
The little guy quickly understood. “Sister Chi!”
After a pause, the little guy quickly opened his big round eyes and asked curiously, “Sister Chi, are you really my father’s student?”
“Mm!” Chi Shuyan nodded and observed the little guy. The cadaveric qi on his forehead had dissipated because of this fall, so he should be fine.
On the side, Teacher Huang asked Chi Shuyan what fruits she liked to eat, and planned to wash them in the washroom.
Chi Shuyan stopped her. Teacher Huang was seven or eight months old, and her belly was huge. It was quite an alarming sight. How could Chi Shuyan dare let her get up to wash the fruit?
She expressed that she didn’t want to eat fruits, and would leave after sitting for a while.
How could Teacher Huang not know that her husband’s student was worried about her? She simply gave her a lot of oranges and told her not to be polite and to peel them herself if she wanted to eat them.
“Thank you, ma’am!” Chi Shuyan was grateful.
