Chapter 79: Sister, How About We Jump Together?

Chi Shuyan had just finished drawing a few high-level Fiend Suppression Talismans and a few Flying Shield Talismans. She was stretching, when she heard the latter half of Zhu Bocheng’s words on the phone. She was puzzled. “What ‘have a kid soon’? Godfather? Does he have a friend who’s getting married?”

Qi Zhenbai’s black phoenix eyes narrowed and fixed on Chi Shuyan, as if hinting at something. “Not yet, but soon.” Hm, now that the two of them had confirmed their relationship, he had to take this woman back to see his parents as soon as possible!

Chi Shuyan nodded. It was someone else’s business, so she didn’t ask more, and went back to drawing her talismans.

The next day, Chi Shuyan called Yang Xinde and took Qi Zhenbai’s car to the Sandalwood building.

Chi Shuyan had already produced a high-level Fiend Suppression Talisman that could ensure that the spiritual energy in her body wasn’t sucked away by an inexplicable array formation. The two didn’t sleep the entire night. Chi Shuyan wanted to leave Qi Zhenbai to rest in the hotel for a while, but unfortunately, the man stubbornly disagreed and wanted to follow her out. Chi Shuyan also felt embarrassed to tear down the bridge after crossing the river, so she could only let him do as he pleased.

As soon as Chi Shuyan got out of the car, she saw Yang Xinde, Father Zhu, and Zhu Bocheng. Zhu Bocheng gave the two of them an ambiguous look. Chi Shuyan was confused and ignored him. She looked at the chaotic construction site behind them and frowned slightly. “Director Yang, there are too many people. Too many cooks spoil the soup.”

Yang Xinde immediately understood Chi Shuyan’s meaning and instructed the assistant beside him, “Hurry and send everyone away!”

Soon, only a few people were left on the construction site. Gasping for breath and full of questions, the assistant ran back to Yang Xinde’s side.

“Master Chi, what are we going to do now?” Yang Xinde asked curiously and fearfully.

Chi Shuyan glanced at him and didn’t answer. She bit her index finger and dabbed her brow with a drop of blood. The blood quickly condensed into the shape of a flickering flame. As she chanted, she formed seals with both hands. “This land, most spiritual of the gods, ascending to the heavens and touching the earth, exiting the underworld, identifying all directions…

“The array is underground, and this is where the family’s bones are buried.” Chi Shuyan finished her incantation and stood in an open space. She took out eight folded 100-yuan notes, and they flew out to create eight points that were equally distributed in a circle.

Yang Xinde’s assistant, who watched this young and beautiful girl perform a ritual incantation and hand seals like a Daoist priest, already found this bizarre, and his eyes were filled with doubts.

He stifled his laughter until his face flushed red. In his heart, he wondered what strange medicine his shrewd and miserly boss had taken, or if he had knocked his head on something. How could he be swindled by such a young and beautiful girl? One look and the assistant could tell that she was a swindler. Moreover, her act was too unprofessional. If it were him, he wouldn’t believe it. Besides, were there really ghosts in this world?

However, there was a cold gust of wind, and the eight 100-yuan notes stuck to the ground and didn’t move at all.

Assistant Dong Ziming looked at the eight unmoving banknotes in surprise, and glanced at the serious, pretty girl in the distance. It seemed that she still had some tricks up her sleeve to fool his boss. Just as Assistant Dong Ziming was thinking how good this young girl’s ruse was, this girl who was as pretty as a peach suddenly waved her right hand… and a flagpole appeared out of thin air!

Dong Ziming’s eyes almost popped out. Was this girl a magician? Where the hell did this flagpole come from? Then, when a ghostly shadow appeared out of thin air, Dong Ziming’s entire OS crashed. He had to still be asleep; he secretly pinched his arm.

But he was wide awake. When he realized what had appeared out of thin air, he almost pissed his pants in fright. His mind went blank and he panicked. He wanted to run, but his legs wouldn’t obey him at all due to his fright. He wanted to cry but had no tears to shed, and the more he wanted to run, the more he couldn’t walk.

Chi Shuyan took out the Yin Ghost Gonfalon and yin energy constantly gathered around it as it spun in the air. A moment later, a child who was seven or eight years old suddenly appeared in front of her in a little dress and a doll in her arms. The child looked at Chi Shuyan and blinked her big eyes like little stars.

The ghost child who appeared very clear to Chi Shuyan looked like a shadow to the others.

Even though they knew what Chi Shuyan was capable of, when Yang Xinde and the rest who were standing not far away saw a ghostly shadow appear out of thin air, they still got a fright and had to restrain the impulse to run away.

The air around them was biting cold, as if blown in from Siberia, and they shivered at the sudden drop in temperature.

Zhu Bocheng was a little scared, but he had never seen a ghost before, so he craned his neck to look at the indistinct shadow. He didn’t know if it was his illusion, but it felt like the ghost shadow looked in his direction. Uneasy, he turned his face away. No matter how gutsy he was, he couldn’t help but be moved when he saw a real ghost.

Qi Zhenbai stood tall and jade-like on the side. When he saw the ghostly shadow appear out of nowhere in the open space, he took a few quick glances, his deep and calm eyes flashing with a hint of surprise. He remained expressionless and just clenched his fists tightly. His sharp hawk-like eyes were fixed on the girl standing in the open space, all the muscles in his body taut as if he would swoop in like an eagle at any time if something wasn’t right.

“Sister, are you here to play with me?” The ghost child raised her little face in pleasant surprise.

“I won’t play with you. You guys are bound here and are all bored. Can I send you to be reincarnated?” Chi Shuyan squatted down and asked nicely.

“No, I don’t want to be reincarnated. Sister, let’s go and play jumping off a building together, okay?” The ghost child giggled and suddenly turned to look and point at Zhu Bocheng. “That brother also seems interested. Does he like jumping off buildings too?”

Although Zhu Bocheng couldn’t make out the ghost child’s face, he could roughly make out a silhouette and a voice, which was eerie in the plummeting temperature. Hearing the ghost child’s suggestion and seeing how she especially pointed him out scared the hell out of him. He didn’t dare look directly at the ghost child again; he didn’t want to die young.

“Brother won’t accompany you; I’ll accompany you. How about this? I’ll watch you jump off the building. Once you’re tired of playing, tell me, and I’ll send you to be reincarnated.” Chi Shuyan pursed her lips and negotiated with the ghost child with a smile.

The ghost child hugged the doll tightly, blinked her big eyes and grinned. “Sister, will you jump off the building with me?”

“I won’t jump with you, but I’ll watch you jump, okay?”

When the ghost child heard this, she threw down the doll in her hands, stomped her foot, pulled a long face and screamed unhappily, “No, no, Sister won’t jump with me. I’m not happy, I’m not happy!”

“Okay! I’ll jump with you, don’t be angry.” Chi Shuyan walked over, picked up the beaten doll that had a strange gaze, and handed it to the ghost child.

“Master Chi!” Yang Xinde and Father Zhu shouted in horror. Qi Zhenbai also frowned and took a few steps forward, as if wanting to pull Chi Shuyan away.

Chi Shuyan shook her head at Qi Zhenbai, who paused. Zhu Bocheng and Dong Ziming stood stupidly on the side. She couldn’t be saying what they thought she was saying, right? Could it be that Sister Shuyan, this genuine Master, really was going to jump off a building?

“Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.” When Chi Shuyan said that, the others heaved sighs of relief. Master Chi was probably just coaxing this ghost child and wouldn’t really jump off the building. Everyone was immediately relieved.

Chi Shuyan soon led the ghost child to the top of a building which had a covering over half of it. It was also where the ghost child had pushed the little boy before. Without the slightest warning to the people below, the girl and ghost jumped down from the top.

“Master Chi!” Father Zhu and Yang Xinde, who had just heaved sighs of relief, had yet to relax, when they saw Chi Shuyan jump down from the eighth floor in front of them. The two were so scared that they almost had heart attacks and turned pale with fright as they yelled.

“Sister Shuyan!” Zhu Bocheng cried out at the same time and stared incredulously at the falling figure. She really jumped!

Dong Ziming, who had long been stupefied on the side, let out a high-pitched shriek. His hands trembled as he pulled out his phone, unsure whether to call 120. A bungee jump wasn’t as thrilling as this scene.

Qi Zhenbai knitted his eyebrows. There was no hint of emotion on his handsome face, but his clenched fists revealed traces of worry.
