Chapter 233: How Many Badges Can One Person Have?

Su Huiqing had her hand on her cap. She didn’t have enough time to conceal the surprise in her eyes as she stared at the person standing before her.

Anyway, the person’s face was right in front of her the moment she looked up.

Standing in the doorway, his eyes were a harsh black, but tinged with tiredness. It was like it had been a long time since he last got a good rest.

She raised her brows. “Why are you here?”

Yu Shijin looked at that lovely face. He narrowed his eyes. Instead of answering, he asked, “Where did you go?”

Those four words again.

Su Huiqing didn’t care that he didn’t answer. She just turned sideways and entered the house. Heading toward the fridge, she took off her cap as she answered, “Morning exercise.”

She always had the habit of exercising in the morning. There was absolutely nothing unusual in that.

Yu Shijin closed the door and stared at her back profile for a moment. His dark eyes showed traces of doubt.

Uncle Chen came downstairs and saw Su Huiqing coming in from the outside. He was shocked.

He immediately asked, “Ms. Su, when did you leave the house?!”

Su Huiqing was reaching for a carton of milk when she paused.

Sometimes, your friend could end up being your worst enemy.

“You guys were still asleep when I went out.” Su Huiqing took out the milk and closed the door to the fridge. She turned and smiled at Uncle Chen.

She acted very naturally.

Uncle Chen nodded. If this was a year ago, he would never have believed Su Huiqing’s words.

But Su Huiqing had truly changed a lot. Going out early in the morning to exercise was something she was currently capable of.

“Let me go make breakfast.” Uncle Chen headed to the kitchen. As if he suddenly thought of something, he halted and looked at Yu Shijin. “Mr. Yu, have you eaten?”

“No, I will have to trouble Uncle Chen.” Yu Shijin smiled very politely.

Su Huiqing sipped on her milk as she turned on the television in the living room.

Upstairs in the guest room, Gideon opened his eyes to see a red bundle in front of him.

He gave a casual yawn, stretching his arms into the air. But then he suddenly paused and turned to look at that red fox!

Its fur was a pure red, its eyes pitch-black.

This…

Gideon immediately opened his cell phone and called Bai Yi. Holding his own head to try to calm himself down, he cried out, “Damn it Bai Yi! Number One. I saw Number One!”

As he spoke into the phone, Empress Su just stood there elegantly on the table. It gazed at Gideon imperiously.

“Calm down.” Bai Yi was standing by the window, looking down. His voice was very serene. “Don’t you know that Number One now belongs to Ms. Su?”

“Huh?” Gideon couldn’t help tightening his grip on his scalpel. “No way. Did you say it belongs to her?”

The corners of his lips twitched.

“That’s right. You better not have any designs on Number One. Otherwise, Ms. Su will be the first to go after your head. The second will be Yu Shijin.” Bai Yi narrowed his eyes.

He already knew about Empress Su’s existence and had experienced the initial shock. Although he didn’t know then that Empress Su belonged to Su Huiqing.

But he had been stopped by Yu Shijin.

Now that he was thinking about it again, even if Yu Shijin hadn’t interfered, it was still impossible for him to snatch Empress Su from Su Huiqing.

Bai Yi sighed. “Previously I wanted to bring it away, but was stopped by Yu Shijin. Do you remember how one of my teams was transferred away last year? It was his doing.”

“Wait a minute. Who is this Yu Shijin?” A flash of inspiration sparked in Gideon’s mind. “Is it that person who appeared before Song San yesterday?”

Bai Yi didn’t answer directly but just chuckled. “It has been a long time since you returned to the International Association. It’s understandable that you don’t know. You will know who he is when you meet him.”

He hung up the phone.

Gideon stared at his cell phone for a moment longer, before going to take a shower. By then, Empress Su was no longer in his room.

He dried his hair and went downstairs.

He turned and saw a person sitting on the sofa.

That person was leaning against the sofa at a slanted angle, his legs crossed lightly in front of him. Eyes lowered, he was holding a cell phone and appeared to be talking to someone. He looked very elegant and regal.

He did not possess Gu Li’s cool manner or Yu Xiangyang’s sunny aura.

But he exuded a completely natural grace and aristocracy.

Gideon paused. His eyes narrowed. Such a person was a rare sight.

He immediately recalled that person whom Bai Yi was talking about. Yu Shijin.

He looked somewhat different from that person from the live broadcast last night.

This person before him looked more dangerous.

Yu Shijin also lifted his head slowly, revealing his pitch-black eyes.

He turned away and spoke into the phone. “I’ll talk to you later.”

Without giving the other party any time to react, he hung up the phone. He then glanced toward Su Huiqing and pointed at the man on the stairs. “Who is that?”

His tone was clearly dangerous.

Su Huiqing was still sipping on her milk. Glancing sideways, she smiled casually. “Gideon. Dugu called him over yesterday to save me.”

“Save you?” At this point, Yu Shijin no longer cared about Gideon. His eyes turned grave. “What happened?”

The moment he came out yesterday, he was immediately led by the captain to seek out Song San.

He then had a short chat with Yu Hongchang on the way back.

With his mind full of that red color, he had immediately come to the Su Family.

Su Huiqing crushed the milk carton and tossed it into a nearby dustbin. She sounded very indifferent. “Just a small matter.”

Yu Shijin stared at her for a second longer. Knowing that she would refuse to say, he didn’t force her. Anyway, he would investigate the matter himself.

Uncle Chen called them over for breakfast.

Su Ruohua remained in her room. Su Huiqing knew she would need some time to gather her own thoughts, and so didn’t go bother her.

During this period, Gideon kept wanting to ask about Empress Su, but suppressed by Yu Shijin’s chilly aura, he didn’t dare to utter a single word.

After breakfast, Yu Shijin didn’t stay but left after having a few words with Uncle Chen.

Su Huiqing also put on her cap and left with Gideon.

That black car was still parked downstairs.

Purple-tinted gold orchid.

Walking behind Su Huiqing, Gideon was completely stunned when he saw that car.

After a long while, he finally tore his eyes away from that purple-tinted gold orchid.

He then numbly took out his cell phone and messaged Bai Yi: Yu Shijin is… someone from there?

A second later, Bai Yi replied: Yes.

After several minutes.

Bai Yi messaged again: You managed to tell from just one glance. We just received the information two days ago. We only knew after those people came to the International Association to find Yu Shijin.

Gideon remained silent for a moment, cell phone still in his hand.

He lit a cigarette and put it between his lips. He fell into deep thought.

“Remember, I don’t really care what you do.” Yu Shijin didn’t immediately board the car but gazed at Su Huiqing with lowered eyes. His tone was rather placid. “But if you treat your life as recklessly as you did last time, I will kill every single person that you managed to rescue.”

Su Huiqing was taken aback.

She put her cell phone back in her pocket and lifted her eyes. The sun was not too bright now, and her eyes reflected the warm glow of the rays. “Don’t worry. This time, I will treasure my life more than anyone else.”

Her voice was low and not as carefree as before.

Yu Shijin glanced up in surprise at that familiar tone.

But Su Huiqing just bent over and opened the car door. She tilted her head with a dazzling smile. “Prince Yu, please get in the car.”

Yu Shijin’s lips twisted. Giving her another look, he boarded the car in silence.

The black car slowly merged into the traffic.

Su Huiqing straightened her body and watched the car leave. She then turned to look at Gideon.

Gideon was just blowing out a puff of smoke. He shifted his eyes away from the car to look at Su Huiqing. “Where are we going?”

Su Huiqing stared at the cigarette between his fingers for a moment, not speaking. She reached out and snatched it out of his hand.

Extinguishing it, she tossed it in the dustbin.

Her movements were fluid as water.

Gideon’s hands were still frozen in posture, as he stared at Su Huiqing in a daze.

Su Huiqing pressed her cap and didn’t offer an explanation. She went over to the parking lot and got into one of the cars.

Swish!

The car came to a perfect stop in front of Gideon.

The car window was wound down, revealing that devilish face.

Seeing that Gideon was still in a daze, Su Huiqing rapped the steering wheel and said impatiently, “What are you still standing there for? Get in.”

“Ah? Oh!” Gideon immediately got into the car.

The scenery flashed by but Gideon remained in a daze. He also forgot about Yu Shijin. All he could think about was that fishtail movement she made with the car. That manner of driving, that style. It was familiar, too familiar.

Any racing fan would never forget it.

Gideon’s hand trembled. He wanted to light another cigarette.

But recalling how Su Huiqing extinguished his earlier cigarette, he didn’t dare to smoke now. He just lowered his eyes and was lost in his thoughts.

The car came to a stop in front of Monster University’s administrative office.

Su Huiqing led Gideon into the principal’s office.

Principal Dien was sitting at his office chair, holding a tablet. He saw Su Huiqing dragging out a chair and sitting opposite him. “Have you recovered?”

“I was never ill.” Su Huiqing placed her hands on the table and smirked. “Principal, where is the thing I asked you to safeguard for me?”

Principal Dien was stunned by her manner.

Her attitude, her tone and the way she just barged into his office.

And that live broadcast from last night.

As well that extremely similar name.

He narrowed his eyes, feeling very disturbed.

Su Huiqing raised her brows and knocked on the table. She lowered her voice. “Principal, where is it?”

Principal Dien snapped out of his trance and took out a safe deposit box from his drawer. He held it out toward Su Huiqing.

Su Huiqing handed it to Gideon.

Only then did Principal Dien notice Gideon. His eyes widened. “Why are you here?!”

“Hahaha, hello, granddad.” Gideon shook the box but couldn’t guess what it contained. He just lifted his head with a smile.

Principal Dien frowned. “Don’t go creating trouble. Don’t make me have to clean up your mess!”

“I am not that kind of guy.” Gideon waved his concerns away.

Su Huiqing stood up and kicked a chair over. She looked at Gideon coolly. “You overestimate yourself.”

Gideon, “…”

He changed the subject. “What is inside here?”

“Something you have been looking for.” Su Huiqing spoke very calmly. “The virus.”

“What!” Gideon jumped up, his hands trembling. “The super… virus?”

“Unbelievable. This is a nearly extinct thing. How did you manage to find it? I had Dugu help me find out information about this for a long time, but he couldn’t…”

Su Huiqing took out a form and pressed it onto his face. “Shut up.”

Meanwhile.

In Yu Shijin’s car.

He had just finished flipping through the documents that the chief detective gave him. It contained the details of Su Huiqing being sent to the hospital.

Yu Shijin lowered his eyes, his fingers nearly piercing through the paper. His voice was cold and vicious. “Is the Ye Family collecting herbs at the southern island?”

Chief detective knew what Yu Shijin wanted to do. “Didn’t you promise the Old City Lord that you won’t interfere with the Ye Family’s business?”

Yu Shijin placed his hand on the car window, a cold smirk spread across his face. “I intended to, but they provoked someone whom they shouldn’t have.”

Provoked someone whom they shouldn’t have?

Chief detective more or less knew what had happened. Boss only had one trigger.

“Chief detective.” Yu Shijin gazed out the window. The sunlight lit up his side profile, making him look like a work of art. His voice was very low. “Tell me, how many badges can one person have?”
