“Senior, aren’t you in your fourth year? You should be doing your internship. Why are you here in school?” Qiao Nan was surprised to see Xu Shengnan.
Xu Shengnan looked totally different from how she used to be in the past. Perhaps it was due to her internship. Now, she wore blouses and carried a blazer with her. “I am doing my internship, but I have some matters to attend to in school. By the way, I heard that you took leave. When did you come back to school? Why did you take leave? Are you into some trouble?”
Xu Shengnan did her internship at Gao Yan’s company.
After half a year of hard work, Gao Yan’s company was more widely known in the industry.
But it was, after all, a new company. At times, Gao Yan did not make any profits in his business deals. Nevertheless, they just had to work hard to make the company a success.
Once the company was on its tracks, things would be easier for them.
“Well, it was nothing serious. I was unwell and went to the hospital. I just came back to school.” Qiao Nan tried to come up with a logical explanation.
Xu Shengnan widened her eyes in shock. “Sick? Why didn’t you say so? I could have visited you. What are you suffering from? Is it serious? Have you recovered? You must not be too hard on yourself. The studies might be important, but so is your health. It is no wonder that when I saw you from the back, you seemed to have lost weight. I thought that I had seen it wrongly.”
Xu Shengnan was telling the truth. She could tell from one glance that Qiao Nan had lost weight.
In the past, she knew that Qiao Nan had a good figure and a slim waist.
She had not seen her for three to four months. She noticed that Qiao Nan was slimmer than before.
But when Xu Shengnan looked at her from the front, she noticed another change in Qiao Nan. “You seemed to have lost weight when I looked at you from the back, but why is it that you seem to have grown in that place? Did you take some tonics? Or have you done a breast implant?”
They were standing by the roadside in the school, and a few students would walk past them occasionally. Xu Shengnan was not being discrete. Instead, she reached out her hands to touch Qiao Nan’s chest. Qiao Nan, who was breastfeeding, blushed in embarrassment. “Vice President Xu, what are you up to!”
Qiao Nan slapped Xu Shengnan’s hands away from her chest angrily.
She was breastfeeding her babies. Apart from feeding them, the most embarrassing part was that she would experience engorgement every day.
She had taken the tonics that the auntie prepared for her in the morning. Qiao Nan felt particularly awkward right now.
She felt uncomfortable and wanted to hide in a corner despite nobody touching her. Now that Xu Shengnan touched her chest, she felt all the more embarrassed and painful.
“Vice President Xu, you are doing your internship and you must have important matters to attend to. I won’t hold you up. I have classes as well. Let’s chat next time.”
Qiao Nan was in a peculiar situation now. If possible, she wanted to keep a distance from other people.
Perhaps she had been feeding the triplets, but their smells seemed to have lingered on her. She might smell of milk as well.

Qiao Nan had the feeling that like the triplets, there was the smell of milk on her.
If people around her asked her about this, she had no idea how she should answer them.
It was now that Qiao Nan was glad that she did not make any friends when she was in her first year.
Otherwise, her friends might come looking for her during her two months of absence as well as during the National Day holiday. She would not be able to explain the existence of the triplets.
Nobody would come looking for her now that she was back at school and they would not notice that she smelled of milk.
Xu Shengnan pinched her nose, seeing how Qiao Nan sprinted off like a rabbit. “Why is there the smell of milk? Babies who are drinking milk will smell of milk. Is it just my hallucination?” But it smelled nice.
Qiao Nan chose to sit in a far corner of the classroom. She sat down quietly by herself, not interacting with other students. The professor was not in the classroom. She made use of the time to revise the lessons that she had missed in the past two months.
Previously, she felt heartbroken when she got into the car, leaving the triplets to go to school.
Now, she was finally able to put aside her longing for her babies and focus her full attention on the lessons and the knowledge points that her professor was teaching. She had a mind like a sponge and worked hard to take in all the information taught in class.
She sat in her seat, busy taking down notes for the entire morning.
The bell rang when it was time for lunch. Everyone walked toward the canteen when the professor stopped Qiao Nan. “Qiao Nan, remember to make a trip to the principal’s office after lunch before one o’clock.”
“Is anything the matter?” Qiao Nan blinked, confusion in her eyes. Her mother-in-law had given the principal a call before she came back to school to cancel her leave and stated that she would be back to school on time.
Qiao Nan wanted to keep it a secret that she was married and with children.
She had no wish to let others know about the man that she married or the fact that her mother-in-law knew the principal.
Therefore, she would never talk to the principal personally or go to the principal’s office. She would leave the task of communicating with the principal to her mother-in-law.
“There is no need to be so uptight. It is nothing serious. Didn’t you apply for two months of leave this semester? You have done very well in the last semester and were awarded a scholarship. Since you were not at school, the scholarship, as well as the certificate, was with the principal. You have to make a trip personally to collect them.” The professor smiled as he explained.
For students like Qiao Nan, who were well-behaved and smart, all the teachers from her elementary school, junior high, high school, and college would be particularly proud of her.
It came as a surprise to the professors that Qiao Nan would take half a semester off in her second year.
She made the request to the principal and the principal had approved her leave. Since the principal did not tell the professors of her reason for taking leave, the professors did not ask either.
“Alright. Thank you, professor. I understand.” She was glad that it was not something bad and her leave of absence from school did not affect the scholarship that was awarded to her in the last semester.
After clarifying with the professor, Qiao Nan went to the canteen to have her lunch. After lunch, she took out the thermos flask that was filled with soup and finished it.
An entire morning had passed since she went to the restroom to extract her milk. Now that she had so much food, she had to extract some milk.
Qiao Nan spent ages in the restroom. The people outside thought that she had constipation or that she had fallen into the toilet bowl. After finishing her business, Qiao Nan came out with a red face, feeling embarrassed.
