“It’s me.”
“Brother Zhai, how do you know that I have reached?” Qiao Nan was shocked. Zhai Sheng had the miracle of foresight. She had just reached and he called right then.
Zhai Sheng smiled softly. As the regiment commander, he would not be able to carry out his missions if he was not able to predict the time accurately. “Have you moved all the belongings to the house? Don’t tell me Shi Qing and you are doing the moving?”
Qiao Nan paused momentarily at the mention of that. “Someone is helping us move our belongings.” But it was better if said person did not help them. The person was unhappy at his task, and Qiao Nan was displeased as well.
“Did the people from the Feng family help you with it?”
“Yes.”
Zhai Sheng could roughly guess what was going on.
Zhai Sheng would have to be stationed at the capital in the future. But right now, he was not stationed there and Zhai Yaohui did not have any mission in the capital as well. It was beyond Zhai Sheng’s ability to help her.
If not, Zhai Sheng would not have gone to the trouble of arranging one of his army comrades to go to Peking University to take care of Qiao Nan, and Zhou Jun would not have been able to take advantage of it to see Qiao Nan secretly.
There was silence on the other end of the phone. Qiao Nan was reminded of what happened with Zhou Jun and rushed to pacify Zhai Sheng. “No matter what, this will not happen again. There is no need to come to the capital or to be troubled over this. I am here to study. The most important thing right now for me is to make full use of the four years here. I will try my best to avoid any other situations.”
Shi Qing was the maternal granddaughter of the Feng family, while she was not.
Shi Qing had many reasons to be in touch with the Feng family, but she did not.
She could choose not to participate in every activity that was related to the Feng family.
Of course, Qiao Nan was in her territory. She had no need to hide from the Feng family, but she would not take the initiative to be close to the Feng family. She would behave as her usual self.
Her biological mother hated her to the core and she died in her hands in the previous life. If it was someone else who was disliked by the Feng family, they might cry in grievances, as if they were bullied by their in-laws.
Now that this happened to Qiao Nan, she was very cool and indifferent about it. There was no need for Zhai Sheng to sacrifice his time and make a trip to the capital to show his support for her. “Brother Zhai, your injuries have not healed. You should make use of the time to rest well. Sister Zhai Hua and Wei De will not contact each other for the time being. However, you should find someone to keep a watch on Wei De. I feel that Wei De has a lot of chink in his armor. We must not allow Sister Zhai Hua to be bullied by him.”
Instead of worrying about her, Brother Zhai should work on tackling the problem between Sister Zhai Hua and Wei De.
Wei De wanted to be part of the Zhai family. He carried Wei Wei with him to the Zhai family’s residence and behaved as if they were very pitiful. Qiao Nan knew that Zhai Yaohui and Miao Jing must feel frustrated.
Qiao Nan did not hear this information from the Zhai family. She heard it from Qiao Dongliang.
Zhai Hua had gone to the army to carry out missions. Wei De would not be able to find her for the time being.

Wei De did not have any contacts. He was unable to send Wei Wei to study at the better-qualified kindergartens. He felt that other kindergartens were not as good. Those kindergartens simply took care of Wei Wei’s daily needs, and Wei Wei was not able to learn much in such kindergartens.
Wei De wanted to send Wei Wei to a good kindergarten, but he did not have any contacts. He ended up seeking help from Zhai Hua’s close childhood friends.
However, Zhai Hua’s childhood friends were not foolish. They would not help Zhai Hua raise someone else’s child. If things went wrong, it might affect their friendship with Zhai Hua and her family.
Wei Wei had been in Ping Cheng for more than a month, but he still behaved coarsely like when he was in the countryside. Whenever Wei De fetched Wei Wei home and asked him what he learned in kindergarten, Wei Wei could not answer his question.
Wei Wei would cry and throw tantrums when Wei De kept pushing him for answers. He would cry, wishing to go home and to look for his grandma and his mother. He did not want to be with his uncle.
Back then, Wei De seldom visited Wei Wei. He would bring delicious food and toys with him whenever he visited Wei Wei. Therefore, Wei Wei liked his uncle very much.
Right now, Wei De was fierce to Wei Wei and he was without his grandma and mother. He would be bombarded with questions and he could no longer play for as long as he liked.
Wei Wei was playful and mischievous and he was used to behaving as he pleased. Staying with his uncle was like being in prison. It was torture.
Wei Wei could not sit still in the kindergarten, and the teacher would scold him.
Back when he was in the countryside, his grandma and mother would not stop him from doing whatever he liked.
He felt scared and insecure at having to live in an unfamiliar environment. On top of that, Wei De kept scolding him and there was no one that he could seek comfort from. There was only Wei De and him at home.
In the two months that Wei Wei was in Ping Cheng, his temper had worsened and Wei De started to grow annoyed at him. Wei Wei used to be very well-behaved. Wei De never expected him to be mischievous and to have such atrocious behavior.
Wei De had no experience in raising kids. He could not handle and take care of Wei Wei. Whenever Wei De came back home and saw Wei Wei run about the house, jumping on the expensive genuine leather sofa, his expression would darken.
Wei De felt that women were better at disciplining children.
If Zhai Hua stayed with him in his house and was willing to take care of Wei Wei, he would not be as mischievous and naughty. The kindergarten that he took great lengths to choose only served to take care of Wei Wei’s daily needs.
What troubled Wei De the most was that the kindergarten that Wei Wei had been going to was a summer school. Usually, school would be on break during summer vacation and children would not go to school. For those that still conducted classes during summer vacation, the fees would be high regardless of the teaching standard.
If Wei De did not make money in his business, he would not have the money to pay for the school fee.
Wei Wei’s school fee was as much as the money that Wei De had to spend on networking with his business contacts.
In short, without Zhai Hua to help him, Wei De was having a hard time taking care of Wei Wei, who was here in Ping Cheng. He hoped fervently for Zhai Hua to come back. He would use all means and ways for Zhai Hua to accept Wei Wei, teaching him and guiding him to be a highly-educated and well-behaved child in the city.
This was what Wei De had been hoping for when he brought Wei Wei with him to Ping Cheng.
It was late August. School would reopen in September. Wei De did not want to send Wei Wei back to the kindergarten that had not been teaching Wei Wei anything but charged him a lot for it. He had to transfer Wei Wei to a better kindergarten before school reopened.
Since nobody was willing to help him, Wei De could only seek help from the Zhai family. He knew that they did not like him, but he was brazen and shameless enough to bring Wei Wei with him and stayed put outside the Zhai family’s residence, asking them to help him find a good kindergarten for Wei Wei.
