Chapter 10: 9. Self improvement time!

The footsteps of these two lizards were getting louder and louder, there isn't any time to prepare or anything, so I'll have to best them here and now. The two of them had finally come in sight, one of them was on the wall to my left and the other was on the upper part of the wall to my right. I am 100% sure that they were preparing for a double attack, I let them get closer to me and the instant they jump towards me, I dash forward and dodge their attack. The two lizards had landed without injury but they had been staggered, which allowed me to go in for an attack. I go in on the closer one of them and dig my claws into it, then I pull myself to jump above it and then start riding it. I bite it in its neck then start shaking my head to kill it quick. The lizard was running all around and was moving towards the roof to drop me from on top of it, but it was about to die any second now. Although it's neck was pretty tough, I had finally managed to do it and heard a cracking sound, then the lizard falls from the wall and I fall down with it.

Another level up, that is really good, and should help me in this battle, especially the health restoration. But now the lizard was on top of me and I needed some time to remove it, but then the other lizard comes and bites me in my neck. I felt it's teeth getting to ripping out my throat, I then looked over at it and blew fire on it. The lizard then moves away from me due to the fire, phew, narrowly saved myself there. I finally push the lizard off of me and stand up, we face off against each other and our eyes meet for an instant, then the lizard turns away from me and starts running! Hey, you! You can't run from a trainer battle! I chase after it and then blow more fire on it, I was feeling pretty light headed now after using it again. The lizard wasn't affected much by the fire, damn these lizards and their stupid fire resistance. The lizard was quicker than me and I realized that there was no way I could catch and kill it, so I just give up and return to the other ones I had already killed.

I see the two dead lizards, they were in quite a rough shape right now, pretty unappetizing, but it could offer some good evolutionary points, after all they weren't that bad compared to the worms, so I decided to maybe eat them. Is it cannibalism for a drake to eat a lizard you ask? Maybe. Well, I think some people ate lizards or geckos, maybe?

Chomp.

Ugh, they certainly are chewy, the taste is pretty bitter and gross, but at least it was better than the frogs, I shudder everytime I think of those nasty frogs.

Oh my, 3 points for a lizard huh, that means I should end up with six if I eat the other, curse that one that managed to escape... welp, doesn't matter. Now I should eat the other one, I'm not looking forward to it, but at least discomfort resistance blocks it out decently.

Huh, this one had lower points, even though it was the stronger of the two, very strange indeed. But that's okay 5 is better than 3 after all. Ok, after this meal, it's time to reveal my own status now that Appraisal leveled up again, my heart was feeling pretty fluttery about it, like when you're about to see your marks in school. [Appraise!]

Huh, neat, I guess it might've been quite obvious actually, so for now let me just think for any alternative to magic, uhh oh right fire techniques, can't believe I forgot its name. Can you give me fire techniques?

Uuuuu, come on! Devs please nerf the points needed, I can't get anything! Well, maybe I should start saving? But I could die if I don't use them, fine can you at least level Appraisal up.

Alright alright we get it! Stupid freaking system, do you think I am made of skill points?! Whatever I am gonna level up so much I won't know what to do with all my skill points, for now I want to save up on skill points to get better skills. Ok now it is time for evolutionary points, what can I do with them? Uh, strengthen my scales?

Hmm, that's a third of my points, but that'll increase my defense right? So sure I guess, knock yourself out.

A feeling of numbness spread all over my body. It kind of reminds me when the fridge shocked me after reaching behind it... what kind of memory is that?!

Oooo, nice. This one is pretty good, although I wonder why didn't I recieve it earlier after getting beat up quite a lot? Well, what is important now is that I have it. Now, where should I put the rest of these points? Should I put them on the regeneration organ? Or maybe power up my teeth or claws? Fire breathing? Man so many possibilities and so few points, let's think about what is important now, I can also put them towards developing some new useful thing, oh yeah by the way, can I have some wings? That hole is way too scary after all.

Argh! I should have gotten the wings before the scales, well I don't even know how much wings cost. So fair enough, uff, you really like breaking my hopes Mr. System, maybe I should rename you to Mr. Idiot or something.

Should I save up my points for something better though? I could save up for wings or whatever. And I think that I am doing pretty good currently... Yeah, I think I'll save them for now, well then, now that the check up is done, how about some more skill grinding, I should try to get some more skills while using Appraisal to level it up, maybe think of several things at once to get parallel thought or whatever that skill will be called, alright let's begin!

I begin reciting a song in my mind and then try to think about cheesecake at the same time, it was intensely difficult, and I couldn't do it, but it doesn't matter, because if I keep trying, I'll get the skill eventually. Argh all this multi tasking was driving me nuts! Heh that kinda remindes me of a pirate joke but that one is for later.

And there it is ladies and gentlemen, I finally got one of the thinking skills, I could already see its effects on my thoughts, welp, maybe I should try to meditate to alleviate this headache that I have, or maybe sleep, wait wasn't I in this situation already? I'll just ignore that and try to meditate once more, uh is this how you do it? You sit down and close your eyes right? Then what the hell are you supposed to do? Remove all thought from your mind or something? Well, that would be hard since I never shut up.

I try to not think of anything and sit down and meditate, but everytime I try to do that I remember something that kind of makes me laugh, alright I'm sorry I'm sorry, come on Lisa be serious. I continue trying to meditate, I still got no skill but my headache sort of went away, which is nice. But now I realized how tired I was feeling myself, god so much stuff to do, but is this place even safe? Dunno, maybe, I guess something could come from the hole that is next to me, like lizards or any flying thing. And from the other side, something or that lizard from before could come, so maybe I should find somewhere safe or something? I decide to go further into the cave to find someplace to sleep, because I'd rather not wake up in heaven or hell.
