My head nearly split apart from the information overdose, but it finally ended, and with this, it's confirmed that they are dead now.

When their body fully decayed away, countless papers fly all over the place, as the buildings fall and collapse. The moment one of those papers touch the ground, they caught fire.

I towards as many of them as I could catch, my speed was faster than any speed I've ever went at. Fast enough that I actually burst into flames from the speed. Unfortunately, that made any paper I would hold onto completely useless.

A piece that's remaining? Could it just be a piece of the sword that got broken off? No, I've never seen synthetic crystals glow like this. This must be something else.

I flapped my wings, and launched myself at a far greater speed than I ever had. I nearly lost control, but I stopped myself above the crystal, and landed next to it.

I approached the crystal until I was close enough to touch it, and as I was about to appraise it. I heard a voice.

"Ah, those scales. Yes, I have seen them countless times before. That same brilliant glisten, and perplexing functions."

It was him, so he lived after all? I gave you a grave damn it! Don't make me fill that grave. But, what are you talking about? We've literally just met.

"You understand what I say, don't you? Those eyes of yours aren't that of a wild beast. They carry intelligence, and understanding of my words."

"Now, you likely want to explore the buildings around here. These... were the finest facilities mankind had to offer. You may leave me here. Do whatever you please."

... After all of this... suffocating loneliness, I don't want to return to being alone. When you suffer for so long, you just... forget what it's like to be at peace. It eats away at you, no matter how much you try to ignore it. I don't trust him, but I'd rather be with an untrustworthy person than to suffocate once more.
