"It all happened so fast..."
____________________________________
Leo had been a surgeon in the foundation for the past couple of years.
He had treated numerous personnel members from numerous ailments.
He had seen minor things like a cut in the flesh all the way up to dismembered and maimed body parts.
However, through thick and thin he was loyal to the foundation.
And that loyalty eventually led to him getting close to a level three clearance.

However, his loyalty only lasted up to the last surgery he performed.
Leo had saved countless lives from agents who were returning from combat heavily wounded, heck, he even treated people affected by anomalies sometimes.
Because of his achievements, he was chosen to perform an operation on a high-ranking foundation member.

It wasn't a major operation, the executive had ruptured his Achilles tendon and Leo would be connecting it again.
The executive requested to be put under narcosis during the operation and Leo agreed.
"Lynn, hand me the scalpel, please." said Leo.

Lynn was Leo's assistant for as long as he could remember, he had been teaching her how to perform surgery as well as certain techniques so she would also be able to move up in ranks in the foundation.
At this point, she was just as well trained as a normal surgeon.
"Here, doctor." said Lynn as she handed Leo the scalpel.

Leo moved the blade of the scalpel across the lower calf of the executive, creating a smooth cut.
Leo laid the skin open and pinned it down slightly, taking a closer look at the muscle.
It had been ruptured entirely.

"Guess I could've expected that." thought Leo as he made an incision in the muscle.
Leo pulled a stitch through the tendon and connected it with the lower half.
"This should heal after a while, Gonna need him to not put any pressure on his leg, though."

"Guess that is another job well done, doctor!" said Lynn in a cheerful tone.
"Indeed it is, however it isn't time to celebrate yet, still gotta close the wound."
"Right, right."

Leo began stitching up the executive and quickly closed the wound.
Leo let out a sigh of relief when he closed the final stitch.

"Now we are done, Lynn." said Leo while taking a look at the time.

"Lynn, log this. The surgery finished at 11:00 AM, no errors were made. The patient will recover from narcosis in about thirty minutes."
"Will do, doctor." said Lynn in her usual calm voice.

Right as Leo was about to leave the room he heard something start shaking in the operation room.
Leo turned around and saw the executive convulsing on the bed.
"What the fuck..." thought Leo as he quickly rushed over.

Leo quickly tied down the executive as he called toward Lynn.
"Lynn! Get me an IV with lorazepam, the patient is having a seizure!" yelled out Leo.

Lynn quickly ran out of the operation room towards the medication storage.
In the meantime, Leo was stressing heavily.
"Why the fuck is he having a seizure? This doesn't make any sense, He should be out cold so it couldn't be the lighting, there isn't anything near the Achilles tendon that could cause this as well..."

Leo inserted the IV catheter into the executive's arm.
There wasn't anything else Leo could do until Lynn returned with the IV itself so he decided to quickly take the blood pressure.

"The fuck is this! This shouldn't be happening!" yelled out Leo in despair.
The patient's blood pressure was extremely low, Leo would need to treat him with midodrine in order to increase it.
Thing was, there wasn't another assistant on duty for Leo since it would be such a simple operation, Leo had to wait for Lynn to return.

"Where the fuck is she!" thought Leo.
Lynn had been gone for far longer than normal, Leo was freaking out.
He couldn't think clearly and took a second to clear his mind before noticing that the convulsing had stopped.

Leo first wanted to sigh in relief before the realization hit him when the heart monitor flatlined.
Leo quickly scrambled over to the patient holding a stethoscope to his heart, hoping it was a electrical error.

Unfortunately, it was true.
The executive flatlined.

"This can't be happening..."
