Chapter 101: Ion

"Wait, what?" questioned Leo.

"The creature is controlling the surrounding area like a hivemind and your body is the core, it is the very reason for this flesh growth, however, something is off."

"What do you mean?"

"The creature hasn't killed anyone except people that struggled, those who accepted their fate were left alone and are currently just trapped against the walls, if I had to guess he is establishing his sovereignty."

 

 

 

Oh, right. Sogrith. I have something to tell you."

"And that is?"

"I recently switched paths to a path named Grand karcist Leo, I got a mission to regain control over my body and I would receive one eighth of Nadox's seal, do you know what that means?"

Sogrith's eyes widened as Leo spoke.

 

 

 

"Did you just say Nadox?"

"Yeah."

"And the path is known as Grand karcist Leo?"

"Yeah, that's right."

"Fuck! How do you even manage to do things like this!" yelled out Sogrith in anger.

 

 

 

 

Leo was confused.

"What are you talking about?"

"Figuring the path you got and that the name Nadox popped up I can point out who we are dealing with and I can tell you that what you have accomplished is certainly something, but you royally screwed me up with this one!"

"Who am I dealing with then?"

"If the path system is giving away pieces of Nadox's seal then it is quite easy to know since there is only one person above him and that would be grand karcist Ion, the founder of the sarkic believes."

 

 

 

Leo was surprised upon hearing this.

Sogrith continued.

"I already had a feeling that it would be Ion when you showed me the symbol that got carved into your head, but I was not sure by then. Now that the path is giving you the option to collect the seals of the klavigars I can pretty much confirm it is him."

 

 

 

 

"Can you tell me some more Sogrith?" questioned Leo.

Sogrith shook his head sideways before responding.

"No, I personally don't know a lot about sarkicism except some of their symbols and their command, you are better off asking Ion himself once your regain control over your body."

"And how do I achieve that?"

"Well, figuring that Ion is also using a proxy he should not be able to maintain control for long, you can accelerate the progress by focussing on your breathing and emotions, you basically want to zero everything out."

"Alright, are you able to change the surrounding area to something calm? I personally can't really concentrate here."

"As you wish."

 

 

 

 

Sogrith snapped his figure and the area around Leo started collapsing onto itself.

Leo was startled for a second but quickly calmed down.

Sogrith disappeared and Leo returned back to the dark void.

 

 

 

"Alright, time to do this." thought Leo.

Leo put all of his thoughts to the side and focussed on calming down his emotions.

They were not as intense as before but they were still pretty significant.

After sitting in utter concentration for five minutes Leo heard the void around him crumble once more.

 

 

 

When Leo opened his eyes a familiar deformed figure was just inches away from his face.

Leo was once again in the red void but this time he was not surrounded by the other flesh monsters.

Leo didn't budge an inch when he saw the figure infront of him and decided to stare him down instead.

 

 

 

The staredown didn't last long since Leo was quite curious.

"Ion I asume?" questioned Leo.

The figure backed up a bit before responding in a hoarse voice.

"Yes, that is me."

 

 

 

"I have several questions for you but I assume we have very limited time right now since I just kicked you out of my body, if it is possible try contacting me at night when I am asleep so we can have a proper chat, for now I just want to know what you want me to do now that you attacked the outpost."

"We are indeed on limited time, I want you to establish dominance over this sarkic colony, you are to rule it like a monarch. That is all for now."

 

 

 

The red void and the figure disappeared as quickly as they appeared as Leo regained control over his body.
