Chapter 129: Jailbreak (2)

The situation was kind of funny in Leo's eyes since almost the same exact situation played out when Leo originally killed Garett.

Leo wondered how the security captain opened the door but soon found his answer when he saw a crowbar lying next to Haiden on the ground.

Leo slowly approached Haiden with his hands in the air and stopped a couple of meters away from him.

Haiden finally got a proper look at Leo and realized he indeed was a normal researcher.

Or at least, so he thought.

Haiden lowered his weapon into a low ready position.

"So, you said you failed to get to the breach shelter within time?"

"Yes, I did."

"Have you encountered any anomalies during the blackout?"

"No, I haven't."

Haiden took out his radio.

"Hotel Foxtrot to all deployed troops, researcher Garett Lester has been located, escorting him back to the breach shelter, over."

"Copy Hotel Foxtrot, proceed. Over."

Leo faked a sigh of relief before looking towards the security captain.

"Alright, follow me and stay behind me, most of the hallways around here have been cleared already but not all of them."

Leo nodded and started following the security captain.

"Captain, if I may ask, do you have any idea who the unidentified assailants are?"

"Fucking insurgents, the main generator was sabotaged and a big group of them infiltrated the site and managed to get to the backup generator and destroy it, most of them have been killed and we are rounding up the rest of them now; won't be long before a generator is back up and we can execute containment procedures."

Leo nodded, this was a big info bomb for him.

"Any idea why they attacked the site, captain?" asked Leo.

"Honestly no idea, they destroyed both generators and just caused mayhem, they didn't try to reach any specific SCP."

"Ah, alright." responded Leo.

Silence remained for a while as Leo was in thought.

He didn't complain about the insurgency raiding the site since it gave him an opportunity to escape but still couldn't help but think about what their motives would be.

Leo and Haiden continued walking for a while until Leo asked another question.

"Hey, captain. Do you have a map of the site on you perhaps?"

"Of course I do."

Leo saw an open office door to his side.

"Mind if I have it?", asked Leo in a serious tone.

"The fuck is up with you and all these useless questions? Of course you can't have it, it is part of my standard-issue gear"

"Oh, sorry. I worded it incorrectly, I will be taking that map."

Haiden turned around to confront Leo but felt a sharp pain in his jaw.

The pain didn't last for long though.

Before Haiden turned around Leo had shapeshifted his arm into a blade form and penetrated Haiden's lower jaw, continuing until the arm pierced his brain.

Haiden collapsed but Leo made sure to catch his body before it hit the ground.

He quickly dragged the body into the open office and undressed Haiden.

Leo aimed for the jaw for a reason, he didn't want to damage the uniform or the helmet since he would have to wear them.

After undressing Haiden, Leo saved the body to a shapeshifting slot and transformed into Haiden before getting dressed.

Leo opened a storage locker in the office and put Haiden's body inside.

Obviously, the body would be found at some point, but it would take several hours.

Containment procedures would first have to be enacted and by the time they were complete a couple of hours would've passed.

Haiden had a P90 with a flashlight mount attached to it.

Leo was happy that he found it since now he would be able to properly see his surroundings.

After searching around in Haiden's pockets for a while Leo pulled out a clearance card and some kind of phone along with some other things.

When Leo booted on the phone a 3D layout was seen of site Phobos.

There were numerous tactical markings and points of interest highlighted on the map that would usually be useful to the security brigade.

However, this time they would be of use for Leo.
