Over the next days, Leo barely got any rest.
Multiple interrogations and interviews were held with him, but almost all led to one conclusion;
Leo would be the one to claim responsibility for the death of executive agent Moris.
However, he still had a good feeling that he wouldn't be found guilty in the end since his assistant would be able to testify for him as well, clearing him of suspicion.
However, he still hadn't found out how or why his voice could be heard on the audio input in bio lab alpha.
He had a feeling someone was framing him, but couldn't say anything with certainty, let alone who.
There were a lot of people who had access to the bio lab, Leo included.
In the end, Leo waited until the dreaded date came.
__
Leo had been broken mentally by all the accusations and the circumstances revolving around him, the constant interrogations and minimal amounts of sleep were finally getting to him.
He didn't have a clear sense of time anymore and didn't have any idea how late it was when he heard the door to his current holding cell open again.
In front of him stood two armed guards accompanied by what appeared to be a member of the ethics committee.
"Leo, your sentence will be held today, you have been granted an hour to discuss your plea with your appointed lawyer of the committee." spoke one of the guards.
Normally Leo would argue why he only had an hour, but his eyes were devoid of emotions as he stood up and followed the guards to a separate room.
Leo overheard one of the guards whispering something to the committee member.
"If he tries anything crazy, just press this button on the radio and we will come and get this crazy fuck for you..."
This only worsened Leo's mental state.
When he entered the room he took a seat as the committee member started speaking to him.
"Anyways, my name is Derenik, I've already read all about your case." said the man.
"And, do you think it is winnable?" asked Leo.
He expected a nice answer, but the world chose to surprise him once again.

"No.""W-what do you mean no?" stuttered Leo.
"If you don't know yet, the rumors are true. O5-3 will be overseeing this case on her own since it involves a high-ranking personnel member."
"Isn't that good?" countered Leo.
Derenik sighed.
"She is very, very strict when it comes to justice. the smallest of offenses get the heaviest sentences with her."
Derenik and Leo continued discussing their plea for a while before one of the guards knocked on the door again.
"It is time Derenik, the suspect will now be moved towards the courtroom."
Leo once again stood up and was escorted to another section of the facility, more specifically the civil sector.
Leo was handed a suit and such and ordered to get dressed properly in a separate room before entering the courtroom.
It couldn't really be called a courtroom since usually this kind of situation was dealt with differently, but since it was the death of an executive and an overseer themselves would be the judge, a courtroom was made on site.
Leo stood in front of his stand and waited.
Derenik appeared not long after and stood beside Leo.
At the other stand was Leo's original interrogator, he would be the one prosecuting him.
After about ten more minutes no judge had appeared.
Leo was wondering what was going on until the lights around the courtroom started dimming.
Behind the judge's seat a television turned on, displaying nothing except the image of lady justice.
Soon, a stern, female voice was heard over the intercoms around the courtroom.
"In today's trial doctor Leo, surgeon of the foundation is suspected of the assassination of Executive agent Moris. Let the trial start."
