Chapter 73: The return

Leo started walking back to HQ, there weren't a lot of things that he was interested in.

Surprisingly, after he turned into an SCP his human desires started to lessen.

He quickly made his way back to HQ and entered the complex.

 

 

 

After his promotion to special agent, he received a lot more respect from other combatives, receiving a special agent status either meant that you were an excellent combative, or that you had some specialized ability.

Leo opened the door to the dormitory.

And it was empty.

"Guess they are out enjoying their free time." thought Leo.

He was kind of conflicted now, he didn't have anything to do.

He could go to sleep, but he didn't really feel tired.

 

 

 

"Might as well pay Christopher a visit." thought Leo.

Leo entered the armory and requested for Christopher, after waiting for five minutes he was taken to a seperate room with him.

"Long time no see Leo, how are the weapons so far?" questioned Christopher.

"They are fine, but if I may know what was the reason for giving me a sickle?" retorted Leo.

 

 

 

"Ah, I assumed it would work out best for you figuring your anomaly, if you are on a stealth mission and you walk around with torn clothing due to continuously shapeshifting your arm you would be quite suspicious."

"Well, I am not gonna deny it. The weapon did work quite well on my most recent mission."

"I am glad to hear that, did the MAC-10 also fulfill its purpose?"

"Indeed it did, I am actually quite fond of the weapon."

"Ah, I actually have something for you."

 

 

 

Christopher quickly left the room and came back shortly after that with a box of ammo.

"Iris informed me about your predicament with a certain mobile task force, these have been freshly restocked and should be usable for your weapon."

Christopher handed the box to Leo and he opened it.

The ammo was still the same caliber, but it had a sharp tip at the top.

 

 

 

"Specialised armor-piercing .45 rounds, you see." said Christopher.

"I am not sure if they can fully penetrate the armor, but in case they can not they will at least send a heavy shock through the operative's body, enough for them to collapse."

Leo was actually quite happy with this, now he at least had a somewhat valid means of defending himself.

However, he knew that if he would be caught off guard he would still be fucked, since there would be no way for him to fight off 4-10 combatives at the same time.

 

 

 

He talked with Christopher for a while longer, informing him about any important he needed to know

Afterward, he made his way back to the dormitory.

When Leo opened the door he was instantly greeted by Emilia.

"Leo! You're back! I was getting worried about you!"

"No worries, I won't die that easily."

 

 

 

Leo started walking towards his bed but he fell a hand land on his shoulder.

When he turned around he saw Alex standing in front of him.

"Listen, I want to apologize for what I said when you left, I shouldn't have been so harsh, especially since it can drag you down mentally during your mission."

Leo was quick to respond.

 

 

 

"Let me be quite blunt with you, I really don't care what you say about me. I am different than you guys, in multiple aspects. Has there been any information regarding our next mission?"

Alex looked at Leo with shock, he expected the exact opposite response from Leo.

He quickly regained his composure and answered Leo's question.

 

 

 

"Well, there has been nothing yet, but HQ instructed us to remain contactable for emergency missions."

"Alright, that would be all."

Leo started walking towards his bed once again but felt another hand on his shoulder.

"What is it now Ale-"

 

 

 

Behind Leo stood Emilia, looking him straight in the eyes.

"Listen, how about we go out in town tomorrow? I feel like you haven't really been able to enjoy yourself after you got placed into this unit due to all of us being busy constantly."

Leo was quick to retort.

 

 

 

"Preferably not, as Alex said we should remain on guard and ready to deploy on the spot."

Emilia kept insisting and Leo shot a pleading look at Kevin.

Kevin raised his shoulders and shrugged towards Leo, leaving him on the spot.

After five minutes of continuous nagging, Leo finally agreed to Emilia's request.
