Chapter 84: MORTUIS LUNA

Leo lowered Banshee to the ground upon hearing Artemis's command.

Leo took a seat on the ground as well before continuing their conversation.

"So, do you feel comfortable explaining to me how you got that scar? Or not?"

Silverie shook her head, signaling that she didn't want to talk about it.

 

 

 

 

"Your codename... is familiar." said Silverie in a soft voice.

"Really? Well it might be because I am a special agent, other than that I have no idea." spoke Leo.

Surprisingly Silverie wasn't shocked upon hearing that Leo was a special agent, even though they were rare.

Right after Leo answered her question the sound of a helicopter could be heard.

 

 

 

Crawler stood up and took out a small red gun out of his pocket and put a shotgun slug-like round in it.

He pointed the gun up in the air and pulled the trigger, a red flare shot up in the air.

Right after shooting the flaregun he ejected the round and put it back in his pocket before taking a seat again.

 

 

 

"Heli arrives in one minute, it will depart in 5 minutes after that so you all better hurry up." spoke Artemis

"One last thing, the helicopter won't be able to properly land here, harnesses are bolted to the floor of the helicopter securely, and you are expected to each strap in one member before strapping in yourself. So technically we won't be getting in the helicopter."

"And you couldn't have told us sooner?" responded Pirate sassy.

 

 

 

Artemis shrugged.

"I only just heard it aswell, blame HQ."

Right as Artemis finished his sentence the helicopter arrived.

The helicopter hovered above the group for a while before eight harnesses dropped down.

 

 

Four of the harnesses were full body and the other four were normal.

Leo picked up Banshee and strapped her in one of the full body harnesses, making sure that she was properly secured before walking over to the other side of the helicopter to strap himself in.

He secured the straps around his arms and legs tightly before nodding to Artemis.

"Leo, how did you get that girl to speak to you?" asked Artemis.

Leo shrugged instead of responding.

 

 

 

"You know that she doesn't even speak to her superiors unless she gets ordered to, right?"

Leo nodded, but he was still quite surprised.

He knew that it was bad, but not this bad.

Artemis took one final look around the helicopter before strapping himself in and giving the pilot a signal.

 

 

 

Shortly after Artemis gave the pilot the signal Leo felt his feet lifting off the ground.

After a while, they were fully in the air and Leo only had two words to describe it.

It did not take all too long for them to arrive back at HQ where heavily armed guards were waiting for the four rescued agents.

Artemis and his squad were instructed to head back to their dorms and get a good night of sleep and that is exactly what they did.

Everyone except Leo, that is.

 

 

 

After everything that happened Leo couldn't sleep properly, he kept twisting and turning in bed until finally deciding that he was just gonna stay awake, it wouldn't be long until dawn anyways.

He put on some clothes and opened the door out of the room just to be stopped by a heavily armed guard.

 

 

 

"Special agent Nightmare, right?" asked the guard in a heavy monotone voice.

"That's me, what's it?" responded Leo.

"A client by the name of Alyona requested a private phone conversation with you. We tried setting up a conference room for you to call in but she refused, she insisted that you know what number to call. Usually, we wouldn't consider this but a forward payment has been made. That is all."

 

 

 

Leo didn't get a chance to respond as the guard already started walking away.

Leo rushed off to the nearest 24/7 shop and quickly bought a shitty phone and a SIM card before calling Noah's private number.

He didn't pick up the first time so Leo called again.

The phone kept beeping but no one picked up. Right as Leo was about to hang up an electronic voice was heard.
