Chapter 1: Death

'Well hello there,nice to meet you.
As you can tell, im about to die.

So before I die let me give you an autobiography of my life as the grim reaper is approaching me...menacingly..hehe fucking jojo reference anywho lets get this over with..

I was born on...you wont remember it so no need for these so let me just keep it short.

I was pretty average for teens my age, good enough grades, good athletic score, pretty good looking or pretty for a girl. And as any teen i like watching anime,movies,T.V. shows etc and reading manga and novels. And i liked a lot of them except for those chinese cultivation bullshit. I also read a lot of fanfics and enjoyed a lot of them.

Ok enough of that, so when I was still in high school, my family got some financial crisis  so I had to quit.

I was kinda stressed out because I have a dream of becoming a professor or at least had a dream of becoming a professor. 

So continued studying  at home the best i could so I could at least have a decent job, or at least tried to because you see..I fell into a rabbit hole..that rabbit hole being underground fighting.

Now you may be wondering what I was thinking to have this shitty idea but hear me out first. When I was still in school or since middle school I went to a dojo for self defence because I'm a girl and self defence is a must have for me.

So back to the fighting I had a or almost have a black belt because you know we had a financial crisis so I had to also quit the dojo. 

Anyway so I had this idea of going to minor underground fighting clubs to earn some extra bucks. 

I searched the place where a fight will take place on my phone on the..kinda illegal net and found it.

I then went to the place which looks an abandoned underground parking lot.

When I reached the place the fight is going to take place and looked around for a place to sign up and found it.

The recruitment was nothing complicated as they asked for the name or stage name and a contract that states that whatever happens in the fight is none of their business.

For the name I just choose the first thing that came to my mind which was 'Mask' because I was wearing a lower face mask. Not really creative but It works so it works.

And just like that I was in a fight against a guy who looked the same age as me.

I struggled at first but as the fight went on I began adapting and started enjoying the fight.

There is something addicting about the sensation of my blood boiling and adrenaline rushing in my body. 

I lost the first fight because free style fighting and fighting with katas in totally different  as the opponent can do anything to win. I didn't get injuried much as the guy I was fighting was surprisingly nice as after the fight as I got my pay (however small it may be) he invited me to a drink. At first I thought he was kinda suspicious and thought he was gonna drug me and sell me or something but no he was genuinely nice.

We got to know each other better and surprisingly he was kinda like me as he was also fighting for the money to support his family, he also showed me the pictures of his two cute daughters. I got surprised that he was married as he looked young but he told me that it was kinda genitic so that's that I guess.

After that talk I asked him if he could teach how to fight but also told him I would pay and he agreed.

After that night my days were quite enjoyable to say the least. During the day I worked in different part time jobs and at night Alex(yes that's his name I forgot to tell you that) would teach me how to fight.

On weekends there would be fights and I signed up almost all the time. I also got my first win so that night me and Alex went to party in a barbecue shop. And also my parents have no idea im in underground fights and im not planning to tell them as they would 100% be against it .

I feel kinda bad about but I now thoroughly enjoy fighting so I can't just quit when I have finally found my passion. Anyways when I get some free time I visit Alex's family as he told me his address, I really enjoy visiting them as their daughters are so cute, you have no idea how happy I was when they called me sis.
It was..*sniffle*..beautiful.

They are only 9 so they don't know their dad is an underground fighter but they don't need to know anyway. When I visit them I also bring my collection of anime and we watch them together, they really like naruto and I get to rewatch so it's a win win.

But you may be wondering what this has to do with my death and you are right it doesn't. But bear with me were almost there. 

The following months I made a name for myself in the underground as I was slowly winning my matches and my pay also went up so you could say my quality of life also went up. My family was also out of crisis and stable now.

But there was also some downs as there are ups. During one of my fights I killed my opponent. After the fight the cheering of the crowd could not reach my ears as I was thinking about my actions and if he really deserved that death, I didn't know if he was fighting for the money or just enjoyment or if he had a family or not. I felt really guilty so I turned to the only people I could talk to about this.

When I got to Alex's house and knocked on the door his wife came and opened it and was about to greet me but stopped, I guess she could see the guilty look on my face . 

She called her husband and after making sure the girls were asleep I had a talk with them and told them everything. 

After I poured all my doubt and guilt out his wife told me that although it is sad and kind of inhumane to think like this but it comes with the job and that she was always prepared to face a day or night where she would get news of her husband's death.

I really look up to her, she is realy strong mentally compared to me. After that therapy ish session I was feeling kinda better so I said goodbye to them and went on my way.

Okay this is where it starts so get some popcorn and enjoy as I well DIE.

As I was walking to my house while listening to some..uhh..K-pop, from a corner of my eye I could see a mother with her two children crossing the road, nothing serious there but as they were about to completely cross it, one of the children dropped what looks like a keychain and she quickly went back to get it. Nothing serious there too if it wasn't for truck kun who was speeding to his next target i.e. the little girl. And just as he was about to hit her a girl pushed the child away and got to be the victim instead.

And THAT GIRL WAS ME DAMN IT. I don't know why I did that really, maybe redemption for the guy I killed or because the woman and her children remind me of Alex's wife and children. 

Well doesn't matter now that my consciousness is slowly fading. After what felt like an hour of screaming and the sound of an ambulance, the grim reaper was like ok enough of this shit goodbye.

And just like that I was gone from this world. Kinda ironic really, I kill a guy one day and die on that same day. Well I'm dead anyway so no need to feel bad about it I don't want to turn into a ghost with regrets after all. But I wonder how my family and Alex's family will react to news of my death. I just hope they all live happily.

But i guess fate or whatever that shit had other plans as I could some light again after what felt like hours of darkness...
