Before starting reading, I would also like to invite you to familiarize yourself with my author's work "The Path of Omniscience", where the main character is not a person, he is cold and insensitive to everything.

============================================

Defiantly taking a deep breath, Samato sighed. Reaching into the pouch and feeling for the kunai, he took it out. Grabbing the handle, the scientist carefully picked up the edge of Kuzu's torn clothes with the blade and quickly cut it.

With his free hand, removing the bloody cloth of clothing from the wound, Samato directly saw the damage. The laceration on Kuzu's pile was quite large for his small body. Due to the fact that Romero's chakra was unstable, the wind blade lost most of its power and instead of cutting cleanly through the skin, it tore it.

To look indifferently at the mess of torn skin tissues and the flowing abundance of blood, Samato folded several seals, activating the mystical palm. Immediately, a green healing chakra embraced his hands and applying them to the wound, the scientist tried to stop the bleeding.

Hiko, who was watching this from the side, sighed, praying to himself, he focused on carefully observing the two Hyugas who had not fulfilled their duties. But even so, the man occasionally looked hopefully at the progress of the operation.

Sitting in front of the boy, from whose chest less and less blood was flowing out every moment, Samato felt that the attention to his person was significantly reduced, this immediately caused the corners of his lips to lift a little.

After waiting a bit and stopping the external bleeding, Samato deactivated the mystical palm. These actions immediately attracted the attention of Hiko, who looked and saw that the bleeding from the wound had stopped, but instead of relaxing a little, he frowned on the contrary.

Although the external bleeding stopped, but the internal, due to the weak beating of the heart, became more serious every moment. Opening his mouth, Hiko was about to tell Samato about it, but looking at the boy, he saw how he reached for a rag and soaked it with water from a flask.

Right after that, he gently wiped the blood from Kuzu's body and washed the wound itself a little. Putting the bloody cloth aside, Samato once again folded the seals into a mystical palm.

The green light enveloped his right arm and, spreading the wound with his free hand, the boy gently pushed part of his palm inside. Seeing this, Hiko breathed a sigh of relief and after observing the treatment for a few seconds, turned his attention back to the two Hyugas.

As soon as this happened, Samato whose hand was right next to Kuzu's heart focused. Slowly, from the tip of the finger of his free hand, a barely noticeable thread of chakra came out, which immediately rushed to the wound.

When the thread entered Kuzu's body, Samato directed it directly into the small hole on the heart. Passing inside athrough the mitral valve, the thread reached the interventricular septum, which separated the left and right ventricles in the heart. When this happened, Samato made sure that Hiko was not focusing her attention on him, manipulating the chakra thread sharply pierced the partition.

The chakra thread, passing through the slowly shrinking partition with little resistance, created a hole in it. But without stopping there, Samato released the thread and hit the wall again. After doing this a few dozen more times, he stopped and directed the chakra thread into the pulmonary trunk  moved to the lungs.

Having reached his second goal, Samato again made several holes in his lungs and deactivated the chakra thread, as if nothing had happened, he focused on treating external damage to the heart.

Watching Hiko's surroundings,  felt a chill run down his back and looking around, he found nothing to his misunderstanding. But as a man who lived to a "respectable age" and managed to become a captain, he would not have believed for anything that this feeling was wrong.

Realizing that there was nothing in the environment for tens of kilometers, he focused on the nearest surveillance targets. After looking at his team and making sure that they were properly performing their duties, he looked at Satoshi, who was sitting quietly nearby,  looking in front of him in confusion.

Realizing that each of the positions he viewed was quite calm and did not portend trouble, the man, with inner fear, focused on the last possible option.

With an inner experience, he turned his attention to the two children behind him. Surprisingly, after first examining the concentrated and tired Samato, who had a meager amount of chakra left and Kuzu lying on the bloody grass, whose vital energy, although greatly reduced, remained at a sufficient level, he again did not see danger.

Although the situation looked quite positive from the outside, but something was bothering Hiko. Just at this moment, his thoughts were interrupted by a tired child's voice.

- Hiko-san, I did my best. If nothing serious happens, then Kuzu will be able to hold out until we arrive at the clan.

As the words left his lips, Samato gently pulled his hand out of the wound. Hiko on the other hand, seeing his actions, focused on the previously visible wound on heart, which by now was barely noticeable. Turning to the boy, he asked expectantly with emerging hope.

- Can the wound on the heart open?

- If nothing serious happens, then no. But if something happens, then I will be powerless.

Samato replied with a sigh, taking and wiping his hands on the bloody cloth. Suddenly, when Hiko was about to say something, a wheezing sound rang out in the neighborhood, making his hair stand on end. Looking sharply at Kuzu, the man's heart jumped. He saw gusts of blood start to come out of the boy's mouth. Immediately after that, due to the jerks caused by coughing, an abundance of blood escaped from the wound on the boy's chest again.

Samato, who was sitting next to Kuzu, depicted surprise and panic on his face, through which fear peeked through. Quickly approaching and folding the seals into a mystical palm,  applied them to the wound, trying to do at least something.

Hiko, who was watching this, finally lost his complexion. He already understood that in this situation, only a miracle would help Kuzu recover, and he did not believe in a miracle. Watching the vital energy in the child's body go away at a fast pace, the man looked at Samato, who was trying to stop the blood, with a strange expression on his face.

After thinking about something, he looked at Kuzu again. After carefully examining the damage, Hiko realized that Samato could not cope here. Kuzu's vital energy left him in a rapid flow and only thanks to the influence of the medical chakra, he still remained alive.

With a sigh and sadness, looking at his sweating comrades patrolling the neighborhood, Hiko sat down and stretched out his hand, put it on Samato's shoulder, whose chakra was soon to reach a critical minimum.

- That's enough, you can stop, there's no help for him here.

Hiko spoke in a sad tone, with the presence of a limp. Samato, in turn, froze for a moment. By that time, his hands and part of his clothes were covered in blood.

Looking at Hiko with a sad expression on his face and glistening eyes, ready to cry at any moment, he spoke softly.

- B-but me...

For a moment, glancing at Satoshi, who was sitting on the side, who was deeply immersed in himself with an empty face, the man interrupted Samato.

- It's all right, it's not your fault, the injury turned out to be more serious than I previously thought. - Having been silent for a second, Hiko squinted into Samato's tear-stained eyes and, seeing a flash of alarm, continued. - Don't worry, I'll inform the elders that the enemy's technique turned out to be more dangerous than we originally thought … When we get back, tell your uncle that I am very grateful that he took care of me in my youth and... oh, okay, that's it.

Samato, whose eyes were flickering with anxiety, quickly nodded, answering.

- I'll let him know.
