"Are we even in the right place?" Asked a female, annoyed.

"The map sucks... We should be close, but there's nothing here." Said another woman.

"What did you expect? We're in the middle of a huge forest and we're supposed to find a small tribe.... That's insane."

"Lea... Say something too! You bought the map!"

"I just bought it. The Adventurers Guild recommended it, so it shouldn't be completely useless." Said a tall woman while polishing her broadsword. Lea was a noblewoman. Well, that's in the past. After circumstances she didn't talk about with anyone, she had sold all her possessions many years ago. And for the money, she bought a broadsword. It was as big as she was. It had taken years of training for her to even swing it properly. But after these years of training she had unnaturally big shoulders for a woman, her body was a palace of muscle and her arms wider than the thighs of a grown man. Only her long blonde hair and feminine expression showed that she was a woman. By now, she could wield her sword as if it were part of her body.

"Can you at least put your sword away? You do nothing but take care of your beloved sword, sleep, and devour all of our food!" Said a woman with black hair. She looked much more feminine. However, it was immediately clear to everyone that she should not be underestimated. With her jet black leather armor, she looked even more dangerous than Lea. She had a bow in front of her and several knives in her armor. However, those were only the knives that were visible.

"Andrea... I killed the fucking acid beast. I need to make sure the sword is okay." Said Lea, without taking her eyes off the sword for even a second. Not only was the sword large, but the blade was incredibly sharp.

"You've been polishing that sword for hours now! How long are you going to keep doing that before you're finally sure!" Said Andrea angrily.

The third person in the group sighed. "Every night the same conversation. Andrea, she loves her sword. Why don't you just let her do it? And Lea, it's important to take care of your weapons. But some conversations are important. So don't let your sword distract you. We have to find the rabbit tribe. Tomorrow we'll keep searching. We will have problems if those bastards are still here." The third woman had no armor. She wore a robe that almost looked like a dress, making her look the most feminine. Only when you looked closer you could see that it was a battle robe. Every part of her robe was enchanted with magical resistances, and even the finest steel weapons would have a problem hurting her. Little was known about her. Even her comrades did not know much about her. But that was true for everyone in the round, they had one rule. Don't talk about the past. The only thing known about her was that she came from the Sorcerer's Dynasty Sarion. Although she wasnt an elf she lived there most of her life. There were rumors, but none of them could be confirmed and for her two comrades, it didn't matter.

The three women were known as the Valkyrs of the Adventurers Guild. Though next to nothing was known about their past, they were known. They were... infamous. Only known for doing the dirty work of the Adventurers Guild. The group that took on jobs that weren't public. And also their strength. Only their appearance frightened most groups.

"Yes, madam Vice." Said Andrea and shrugged. She was rewarded with a nasty look. Everyone knew that Vice was not her real name, yet she was known by it and no one dared to ask her for more.

"Do you really think that Hydra and the Adventurers Guild are working together?" Lea asked as she continued to polish her sword. "I've never heard of a criminal organization and the guild doing anything together. They hate each other."

"I think if you have a common goal, you forget about such hatred. With all the information we've gotten, I'd be surprised if Hydra didn't have a hand in it." Vice said.

"But still.... Hydra sends bandits and other trash into the forest to hunt down rabbit people. After the Jura Forest was taken over by a demon king, the bastards were ordered back. And now it's the Adventurers Guild's job to see if they're really gone?"

"Seems like it." Replied Vice and leaned back. It was already dark and they had set up their night camp. Now they were sitting around a campfire. They had spent the last few days trying to find the rabbit tribe. They were ordered to report any activity by other humans. But... They could not find the rabbit tribe. Simply because the maps they had were trash. "Hydra definitely has something to do with it. There are few organizations that could gather so many bandits at once. And we don't know what this new demonlord is like. Maybe he doesn't even care that the rabbit tribe is under attack. Or maybe he would only interfere with Hydra if he found out. In the worst case he attacks other countries because they invaded his territory. And that would be bad for all of us. After all, demonlords are unpredictable."

"Man... I feel bad that we have to clean up their trash..." Andrea said and sighed.

"What if we find them and they don't want to leave?" Asked Lea.

"We will kill them." Andrea simply said. Lea showed no reaction but Vice nodded.

That's their job. In the Adventurer's Guild, there was a term for groups like the Valkyrs. Black Squads. Missions that involved killing humans were actually taboo for the guild. But sometimes, it was necessary. And that is when they came into play.

"Let's beat them up first." Suggested Lea. It worked before. If they really did something stupid, there was nothing more effective than being beaten. But... If the bandits were still not ready to leave the forest after that, then they had no choice.

Andrea hit her fist in her palm. "This is the best part of our job." And smiled.

Vice giggled. They weren't thugs. But beating up a couple of bandits... was satisfying. And they wouldn't have any problems. If they were an official group, they'd be on the top without a doubt. But they enjoyed being more in the background. Doing dirty work was.... something they could do without feeling bad. But they were strong. Individually, there were few who could compete with them. But as a team, they were confident that they could beat anyone. Well, almost everyone, they weren’t disillusioned enough to think that there were some entities in this world against them even though they as a team have no chance.

"But we should definitely avoid the rabbit tribe..." Vice said. "We are on their side, but I have no doubt that they will be pretty mad at humans."

"Their sense of hearing is pretty good, they'll probably notice us before we notice them." Remarked Lea.

"That's indeed troublesome. If we meet them, we should just run. Everything else would make the situation even worse." Vice said and sighed again. "The whole mission is troublesome."

"Well, maybe we should just take it as a compliment that we got this mission. It means we're trusted." Lea said, while still polishing her sword without taking an eye from it.

Andrea and Vice nodded in agreement. If this was going to be an easy mission, the Adventurers Guild would have sent someone else. Of course, the payment was also outstanding.

That they were probably being paid indirectly by a criminal organization.... They shouldn't talk about it, in the end it would only frustrate them. That was something they always wanted to avoid. There was a border that shouldn't be crossed in the Adventurers Guild, and that was killing other people, however, this situation happened all the time. Mercenaries or bandits... Adventurers always had problems with them. And it often ended in a fight. Assassinations were strictly forbidden, of course. But the Valkyries had done something like that before. For the Adventurers Guild. It was necessary and they did it for the greater good. Not for greed, but to help other people with it. Like this mission. But as soon as a mission was about something personal or a greedy client, they would discard that mission immediately. They needed very good reasons to accept such a mission. Fortunately, the Adventurer Guild had the same opinion. The Valkyries would make a lot more money in a criminal organization without question. But these organizations had a rule, "No question about it." The Valkyries, on the other hand, had a different rule. "Answer every question we ask or we're gone."

"I think we should get some sleep. Tomorrow will surely be another long day and the forest... is not good for my ankles. Whose turn is it to stand guard today?" Said Andrea and gently touched her ankles.

"It's your turn today, and you know that very well..." Lea and Vice sighed. Always the same.

"I'm pretty sure today is Vice's turn." Andrea tried to save herself. And was rewarded with rolling eyes.

"It was my turn yesterday and...." But Vice was interrupted.

"Wait!" Andrea said and looked into the forest.

"You're not going to get out of here like that..." Lea started to talk.

It didn't even take a second for Andrea to get her bow in hand and shoot an arrow into the forest.

Now they knew it was getting serious. Having fun is one thing, but faking danger was unacceptable for a team. After all, you have to be able to trust each other.

"What..." Andrea said confused and with wide eyes.

"Didn't you create your magic barrier?" Lea asked. She had her sword in her hand. The question went to Vice, who created a barrier every time and could predict any intruders. Why did they put a guard anyway? Because they were no amateurs.

"Are you sure there's something? I didn't feel anything." For Vice, this has never happened before. Someone who could get past their barrier?

"There is someone. I'm sure. The arrow I shot. It didn't hit anything... It disappeared...." Said Andrea, she already had the next arrow strung on her bow and the string behind her ear, looking into the dark forest.

"Disappeared? How is that possible?" Vice asked, confused. She had already created a magical barrier around the group and with a wand she summoned in her hand.

"I don't kn..." Andrea started to promise, but was interrupted by a voice from the forest.

"Stop shooting at me! I am not an enemy!" A voice came from the forest.
