Teruhi observed the Shinobi send to guard them with increasing interest.

Tsukiko Hatake, the small black haired beauty, was no unknown at the capital. Her story, one raising wonder and doubt in many. An unknown prostitute's daughter, born into the slums, working her way up to Hokage Advisor and being a brilliant mind behind the scenes.

The next were the Uchiha cousins. Itachi Uchiha was the next Clan head, he was by nature silent and observant. His behavior like the perfect model Shinobi. His elder cousin, one of Konohas strongest during the last war, Shisui of the body flicker, barely grown out of teenage hood he already had a title and the skill to match his reputation.

The last was Gene, who was called that name due to her unpronounceable first and last name. White hair, pale skin, a little princess like pretty girl. Not as impactful as her commander, but her azure eyes and almost fragile figure in combination with the short Kimono like Tunic made her an exotic sight. The bow only added to that, he had never heard about a Shinobi using a bow before. But from how the others behaved she had to be more than the curious lightly foolish pretty bauble she pretended to be.

Even more so if the reports of his that she was not only a Jinchuuriki but also a main damage dealer during the Kyuubi attack were true, apparently she had also found a very advanced Lab during the cleanup and taken in the saved children as her own, even against the Hyuuga. She either had to be a mastermind or simply and purely was strong enough to garner so much profits despite being of forgain birth and being a Yuki, if reports were believed, a cursed clan from Kirigakure, the hidden mist, he would be most curious about her behavior once they stopped there.

Taking into account who his Shinobi guards were, he grew continuously curious about what to do with them. The most mysterious one was playing a fool and the other, Tsukiko, was the responsible elder.
Gene snooped around smiled at people and obviously used a screen of helpfulness, naive and carefully applied cheerful behavior to make his other guards smile as they started. If their goal had been to let his Samurai have their guards down against them, they were about to succeed brilliantly, after all most men weren't suspicious about curious children.

The Shinobi kept up effortlessly with the pace as they rode on horses. Shisui the oldest in the back, Tsukiko the leader up front, Gene and Itachi to their left and right, surrounding them. The formation formed without words, speaking of them being either used to work together or having a great amount of mutual trust, maybe bothe.

From how they moved, it was clear that Tsukiko was a close combatant, even if he wondered how she fought in a Kimono and five centimeters of Geta that made her share her size with Gene. She was the smallest of the lot. He knew Shisui to be a speed specialist, he assumed from her weapon Gene was more on the long distance track, following that logic the future Uchiha head had to be an all-rounder or the team would be terribly unbalanced.

The position of Itachi Uchiha was the most difficult to fill in if his partners were as extreme as he suspected, he and Shisui as well probably filled in for weaknesses making them versatile, dangerous and skilled, he truly had gotten a good Team from Konoha.

This was promising to be an interesting diplomatic mission, a very interesting one, a small smile formed on his face, he would enjoy playing with them if he got the chance. His guards eyed him with suspicion, and he smiled back at them, sweetly, good-natured. These Shinobi were not the only ones wearing a mask full of falsehoods and lies, politicians lied more, pretended more and put on more of a show than everyone else, even than Shinobi.

He looked at the black haired leader who smiled back equally sweet, shivers running down his spine. She was one that saw through him almost immediately, and it only made him more curious, it was almost daring him to do something about it.

Obsidian fangs, a snow princess and two bloody blades,

these are my companions...

He wrote into his notebook and closed it.

The relationship between the Daimyo and the Shinobi was currently not the best, the land of fire a torn one, this mission was more than mere diplomatics, it was a demonstration of strength towards other Shinobi and nations, the plan was to intimidate them while exchanging veiled threats and daggers hidden behind sweet, polite smiles and crossing swords of the mind.

He hoped they wouldn't need to cross the ones made of Iron, after all, he always fainted at the sight of blood.

"My lord.", one of the guards said, and he turned towards the unknown face.

"What is it?" he asked with a practiced smile, the one he always carried when he was upset, when someone interrupted his thoughts.

"Stop being unpleasant, he is just someone interrupting you in your musing, man that lose themselves in thoughts like you did live dangerously, Gene spotted something, be aware and stick to your guards." Tsukiko said smiled, and her black eyes seemed to glow darkly and, he gulped nervously.

"Incoming.", Itachi said and around him swords were gripped, and hand signs formed.

He shivered, it seemed this would be anything but peaceful travels, this was not even the first day, cold sweat broke out on his back.
