The meal that evening was equally depressing, seeing how few of the children were still alive, as Tsunade brought forth her various results.
"I have to say it is depressing, I am only understanding half about what this is about. The beginning is about integrating Senju cells into bodies to recreate their mokuten, the wood Style Kekkei Genkai. The research is extensive and nothing short but impressive but nowhere near a level where human experiments are even a possibility, still they were being made by trial and error fashion. That is what killed most of the kids, their bodies rejected the forgain cells. I was unable to stabilize them in their bodies, they were in part also too weak, when I finally figured out how to stabilize them only four were left including Izayoi and Sora." Tsunade rubbed her Temples. "Then the data suddenly takes a turn I don't really understand, nor get why, someone tried to integrate a Dojutsu, that far I understood, they were using the Senju cells as a catalisator and then included something that makes no sense. They call it Nanite Dojustu, and I have no idea what it is."
Gene looked at Tsunade like stuck by thunder.
"Nanite, did they use that word, exactly that word?"
Rumbling though a few papers, Tsunade took out one and showed it to her. "Nanite, exactly that, thing is I have no idea what that word is supposed to mean, and I found utterly nothing about it either, I scourged those papers from what was recovered after the destruction of the lab."
"But Nanites are not biological." Gene said and suddenly Tsunade bowed over the Table staring at her.
"You know what the hell Nanites are because that is where things started to make absolutely no sense to me, like it seemed to become gibberish that is either too advanced for me or, it truly is gibberish."
"It is not gibberish, you are simply approaching it from the wrong angle. You assume something biological like the integration of Senju cells correctly?" Gene asked and Tsunade nodded. "Nanites are not biological, not entirely at least, they are technological, for the most part. How should I explain. Nanites are mini machines, so small the naked eye cannot see them, they get controlled by electrical impulses."
"Electrical Impulses?"
"Thought waves, they create a frequency, an impulse similar to energy, they transport knowledge and information through our brains, now Nanites use that system in our brain for energy and as a source of information, adapting to what suits the individual user best. The waves of the Nanites have to be adapted perfectly to a specific user, meaning they have to be compatible, if not they kill their user." Gene moved her hands trying to explain, but what she said made no sense, she only understood half of it herself. "Basically, Nanites are Bio-Tech, a mix between technology and biology."
Tsunade suddenly relaxed in front of her and let out a shout.
"I GOT IT!" She shouted and stormed off. "I will be back, Shizune, I need paper, mountains of paper. These calculations will be the greatest thing I ever did."
Gene looked after her and smiled faintly. "Well, I sure hope she is going to succeed."
Izayoi looked up from his documents, not caring about Tsunades outburst, and shoved them to her. "These are for you head." he said, and she looked at them.
"For me, isn't that a bit...much?" she asked, and he shot her a noncommental look.
"It is the bare minimum of things to solve."
"Is this the electricity bill?" Gene asked, reading the topmost paper, and Izayoi nodded.

"Why is that so high?" she asked hesitatingly. "That is two C Rank mission salaries."
"It is mainly Tsunade-donos Lab." Izayoi said and hesitated, "And some of us ... cannot sleep if it is dark." his voice was a mere whisper and looking at it, Gene felt a sting of what she was trying to put in some deep dark corner.
There is no use in mourning the death, rather it is important to care for the living, for Sora and for Izayoi, and if paying Tsunade Senjus electricity bill for the Lab, and lights on all night are the price then so be it.
"Oh well." she signed the paper. "Luckily I am already Chuunin and allowed to take Jonin missions and above or this would hurt."
Although, my Bank account is already crying.
"What else is there?"
Izayoi placed a mountain of papers in front of her, and she gulped.
"That is all?" she asked with hesitation, and he blinked at her.
"That is what needs to be signed and filled by you for the official inauguration of the Clan." He explained, taking another stack from the ground and placing it on the table. "And those are all what needs your signature and approval, I tried to minimize it, but I have to admit that the only one who was willing to help was of little help."
"Whom did you ask?" she peeked from behind the paper.
"Hatake-san, the older Hatake." (Izayoi)
"You mean Kakashi?" (Gene)
"Indeed, Madame Hatake made cookies for us. He was of surprisingly little help, for a clan head, and more investing time into the Icha-Icha series." Izayoi explained deadpan. "The cookies were rather delicious."
"I believe that." Gene looked at the papers and signed. "You cannot get me Shisui here, no?"
"Shisui-san's signature is sadly not able to authorize those things...at least not until he has been made vice head officially which he is not up so far, the application forms for that are here." Izayoi took out an only slightly thinner stack of papers. "They are obligatory."
I want to run.
