Chapter 154: IV Chapter 1 – Jungly backyards business ideas

"Head, Head, HEAD! GENE!" Someone blasted right into her ear and Gene was short on freezing said person with a flick of her hand, or pierce them with a Kunai, preferably the one she kept clutching underneath her pillow if it hadn't been for recognizing the voice shouting at her. Cracking open an eye, she looked at the auburn hair and the dark eyes of Izayoi, as usual with some kind of parchment in his arms. 

"What?" she creaked her throat dry and already eyeing the papers with suspicion, leading a clan was a damn lot of work, more than she had ever guessed, no matter how small it was.

"We have a problem?" he said. "In the backyard." 

"We have a problem .... in the backyard? There is nothing but Soras garden in the backyard....what problem?" she noted and rose up, her hair having become fairly long by now tumbling down her face as she more or less moved on all fours to her closet and pulled out a long tunica she could just throw over herself. 
More or less dressed and yawing, she followed Izayoi who was not the least bit bothered by her sloppy appearance as he showed her their backyard, and she stopped in her tracks. 

Oh, great now that explains it....somehow.

"Holy Crap, by Jesus and the Mother Maria, what happened here?" she asked, staring at their backyard that couldn't exactly call itself a backyard anymore. It was more like a Jungle, a fully grown out mini sized forestal zone untouched by the hands of man and in the middle of it was Sora, on a branch, with teary eyes not making a sound as she stared at Gene with despair clutching to the bark of the outermost tree.

"Wait, I am coming." Gene said hastily noticing her panic and jumped towards the most mentally fragile member of their clan as she could see from the corner of her eye Seiyu rolling towards them in his wheelchair. He looked like he was on the way upwards ever since Tsunade was caring for him. Carefully, she took slender and fragile Sora from the tree branch into her arms and jumped back down, placing her naked feet on the ground with equal care. 

"Here you go." she muttered and patted the head of the small girl as it clung to her. Gene was by no means tall, rather one would describe her as petite, but Sora was smaller than her by almost a head and the effect enhanced by the fact that she was timid as a mouse and build frail, frail enough one had the impression a gust of wind to string would blow her over. "What happened?" she asked Izayoi, knowing Sora wouldn't breathe a word of it. 

"I..." he hesitated a moment. "I believe Soras abilities to use the Mokuton have awakened." he finished his sentence, and Gene blinked. "It was apparently the goal of the one who experimented on us....now that our physical stated stabilized we knew it a possibility ....but....."

There had been only two children that survived the experiments done on them in the end, three if one counted Seiyu who had been there only for a few days, unlike the others. Sora had been the miracle itself to have made it this far with her state but for her to also have reached the final intention of experiment, revive the Senju Mokuton was an entirely different house number. 

"Are you sure?" Gene asked just to make certain and Izayoi nodded. 

"I saw it with my own eyes." he said, and Gene signed. 

"The Kage is going to have kittens, Tsukiko will flay my hide...and I do not even want to imagine the Hyuga and their usual drama once they find out about this....where is Shisui?"

Their Vice-Head and Gene's Proxy in all offical matters had proven himself to be not only the more intelligent and patient politician, but also the better one when it came to thinking of well...conventional ideas. Genes methods consisted of the principle to steamroll them without regrets. The downside of it was that one made a fair share of enemies that way. 

She was after all not Tuskiko. 

"A....A-am I g-going t-to be t-thrown awa-away?" Soras faint voice asked behind them, and her deep blue eyes were staring that them with a genuine fear that made Gene want to crush those damn labs all over again. For once, she even felt the agreement of the Kyuubi inside her. As much as she and the Nine-Tailed, who still refused to share his name with her, were at odds with each other, she knew him to be a genuine aide in when they happened to agree. 

Both of them liked Sora so for once they did. 

"No one is ever going to throw you away Sora, no way in hell I will do that do you understand, and whoever has something against it will end up as an ice stature alright." she kissed the small girl's temple and Sora who was visibly relaxing nodded at her. "In any case, that makes one problem less for this winter." Gene noted looking at the forest. "We will have sufficient wood to for heating." 

"Mhh, you are not wrong." Izayoi noted and took out a calculator from god knows where in his sleeves, "That means we are saving a hundred and fifty Ryo, and expecting it to happen a few times more until Sora has it under control we could even make a business out of it." 

"I know, like ice-cubes from my Kekkei Genkai in summer are a business idea. We really are poor as church mice, no?" she asked him, and he signed. 

"We are barely keeping ourselves afloat with the salary from your last mission, you might want to go on another one soon. But since that is currently our only source of income and Tsunade is....." he said and signed again, the headache in the back of her head starting to bother Gene again. 

"A perfect way to spend money like water. "Gene noted deadpan. " Seiyu can you get Sora to her. I want her checked up on, so we can be sure the awakening of her Kekkei Genkai did not harm her, and then I need to speak with the Hokage, but first Coffee, and where is Shisui?" 

Seiyu nodded as he took Sora with him. 

The firewood Idea might be the better business idea than the Ice Cubes, though, thinking about it. If we buy that mountain next to the Nara we could maybe make a skiing park using my Kekkei Genkai.....
