Chapter 112: 4Months#10 Just Another Day

A few moments earlier

DRYAD QUEEN'S ALTER EGO'S POV:-

Every Dryad has an alter ego that helps them connect with nature. Not only is it necessary for us to connect the two halves of the forest, the living element and the spiritual element, but also it is our major power that helps our race survive in this harsh world.

'And he knows that too.' I think as I look at that monster right in front of us. He already knows about my existence, spirits told me. I don't know how, but somehow he already knew.

"Sure, why not?" He smiles as he looks at the Dryad Queen. 

'Huh?' He isn't looking at the Dryad Queen… but directly at me? 'Just what?!'

He then asks a few questions and the Dryad Queen asks me for confirmation if it is okay to tell him about it. 

'It's not like we have any other choice right now. The Devils have already infested our ranks, and with everything going on, I don't see anyone else who can help us out of this situation. If this monster even kills us, it won't really change anything for us at this point.' I think as I allow the Dryad Queen to answer about what is going on around our place. 

After explaining everything, he ponders about it as we walk into the forest.

'Wait! What?!!' I… can't seem to communicate with the Dryad Queen anymore.

I look at him, smiling at the Dryad Queen, then repeating everything that she told him. 

'Stop! He is dangerous! Run! Run!...' I kept shouting to the Dryad Queen in her consciousness, but my voice didn't reach her at all. 

"Is there anything you are hiding right now?" he asks as he looks at The Dryad Queen with a smile on his face. His eyes are piercing her and looking straight at me. He isn't even focusing on the Queen, right now.

"Obviously, I have told you everything. Is there anything you think I am missing?" The Dryad Queen asks as she hides her nervousness with a smile. Horror fills my mind as I look at that child sighing before smiling at her.

Both The Dryad Queen and I flinch at his smile. His eyes are filled with disappointment right now.

'Did we make a mistake?' I think as I observe his face and a tinge of regret enters my brain. I then make a determined face and look at him.

"There is something I think you are missing, though. Something very important," He smiles and the Dryad Queen flinches.

'If he is going to ask anything about me, I am going to explain everything to him. He is strong… strong enough to help us out of our situation. Nothing good will come out of going against him.' I brace myself as Dryad Queen asks,

"What could that be, Mr. Morpheus?" She is terrified right now, but she can't afford to show it to him, can she?

A wry smile forms on my face, as I realise that it's all over but…

"Hm. Let me guess, the Devils are involved in all this, aren't they?" He asks with a quiet smile as he observes us, then his expression turns tired before he sighs as if he has lost interest in us.

"What?" The Dryad Queen speaks with a shock on her face as she looks at Morpheus. 

'WHAT???!! HE KNOWS THAT TOO!!' I shout as I look at him. Didn't that Devil said, that only Gods can find out the truth about it? Anyone else can never even guess, even in their 7 lifetimes.

'Was he lying? Or….' Horror fills my eyes as I think about the second conclusion. We… shouldn't have gotten him involved in this situation. My eyes shake as I think,' did we end up making the wrong decision?'

'And why isn't she realising that I can't communicate with her yet? At least realise that something is wrong, idiot.' my eyes fills with despair and hopelessness as I wonder what would happen to the Dryads next.

He stretches his hand as he speaks, "So, let's go to your Kingdom for now. If there is someone who can create trouble for you, given your power level. I guess it should be interesting to see it too. You see, I haven't fought a King class enemy before, I wonder how powerful someone like that would be at their full potential."

".."

".."

'Just what… is he getting at?' My brain stops trying to analyse his words all together. Sigh… is he really going to fight one of the three Queens? A wry smile forms on my face as I realise it might as well be true.

After he signals Dryad Queen to Move, she moves forward. After that, he asks a few more questions about how things work with Dryad Kingdom.

After walking for a bit more while in that 'frozen world', we finally reach the designated place. He walks in front of the Queens as he observes both of them then…

"Who is this human? Are you this degraded to-"

-Boom

I hear the Queen being kicked into a distance as he lands against a tree then falls down on the ground. He then slowly stands up as his Devil form comes in front of us and looks at Morpheus with a glare. He cracks his neck before speaking," Human, you are dea-"

-Boom

Appearing above him, Morpheus kicks him down harder and stronger than before. The Queen, or he shouldn't be called a Queen because his alter ego might be already dead by now, due to the presence of the Devil energy. He hits the ground and the ground slowly starts shaking… I almost forgot that we are in 'frozen' time right now with our senses enhanced. 

He looks at me and then at the other Queen and looks back at me… no, he looks at the Dryad Queen and speaks with a bored expression,

"Well, Dryad Queen, can I kill him?"

".."

".."

It shocked those two in this exchange as their eyes turn wide open. Their expression looks like they are having a hard time believing all this. Reading the Dryad Queen's thoughts, I realise she believed him equal to King Level or maybe a bit stronger, but not this much.

'Well, I can't really blame her, can I?' I sigh as I observe that child standing there non-chal..lantly???????!!!!!!

'WHAAAAATTTT' I get shocked at what was happening.

"Why are there only this many Dryads?" He speaks and snaps the Dryad Queen out of her thoughts and she replies with a wry smile, "Ah? That… is because most of the Dryads moved from here after they dethroned me."

'You crazy idiot!! Can't you realise what he is doing right now?' I shout frustratingly, but since it was bloc-

'Hey! You scared me. Why weren't you answering until now? Do you realise how crazy he is..' she answers back with a horrified tone in her consciousness.

'My Queen… look' not wasting time I showed her the picture of the forest around us, all at once.

Everything in our vicinity, as close as the Elves forest to as far as the Dryad Kingdom's end, everything is filled with strange water mana… it's not normal, because… it's purifying?

'Purifying… my eyes are shocked as I observe my species getting healed from their disease, which we deemed incurable a few months before. Not just healing, even the Devils are getting converted back into their original species… Just… Just who is he?'

I look at him with my eyes wide open. I want to know… why? We even lied to him, and we were basically even trying to use him too… then why did he help us? And… What is he?

"Wait! Wait! Wait! How did you do that?" Dryad Queen blinks, stupefied as she understands what is happening around her.

He smiles and then speaks, "I just did something that will benefit both of us."

He then turns to the other Queen… or the Devil, who is unconscious right now, and touches his head with his finger, murmurs something with his hands on his chin. He then takes out his dagger and slashes his neck and… nothing happens. The cut is there… but no blood is coming out?

'No! There is something… Space magic? How can someone be this precise….' I think as I look at himdoing something before the Devil turns into ashes and then he moves towards the other Queen who is silent from the time we arrived here.

'Ah! She is here too' I think as I totally forgot about her existence. Wait, why didn't she do anything until now? 

As if Morpheus heard my question, he answers, "You are allowed to move now."

The Queen falls on the ground as a horrified expression forms on her face. She is terrified as she says," W-What do y-you want from me?"

".." Taken aback at her behaviour, both me and the Dryad Queen make an astonished expression. Just what.. did Morpheus do?

Morpheus smiles as he looks at her, sending a shiver down our spines before he says," Want to make a deal with me?"
