Chapter 121: What A War Means#6

BLUENO'S POV:-

I am Blueno, one of the direct disciples of the King of Beastmen. Born in an instinct driven race that has attained some ability to think. We thrive and survive in the world of Visca, by the rule of 'Survival of the fittest'. It not only applies to those of the other races against which we should be careful with but also among ourselves. 

Though we are all Beastmen, which animal we have originated from, also distinguished us among ourselves. At least, that is what happened until a few centuries ago. After the emergence of the Lion King, who defeated the previous King on his own, all the beastmen slowly united as one. To be able to join the divided beastmen, both by power and charisma, and create a powerful race that could go toe to toe with other races as equals, he became the most respected beastman ever present in the history of beastmens. 

One of the disciples he took under his wing looked up to him as an idol. He is someone I want to become like, and someday I want to defeat him as well.

But…

A FEW MONTHS EARLIER:-

The King of Beasts called me and others on urgent notice in his chamber. Reaching the chamber, we found something ridiculous. The Beast King whom we all looked up to looked so old, as if he had aged to his last days. He looked at us with a weak smile before speaking,

"Haha...Blueno, Mare, Marle, Poie...We are going to war...prepare for war."

Hearing his voice, we felt as if the ground had vanished, and the sky broke upon us. It was too sudden, too heavy, that voice was too weak...it's as if he was crying. We saw hopelessness in his expression and smile that was filled with sorrow enough to drown the happiest person in this world.

Then he looked at us as he tried to stand up but then he fell as his balance gave away. Watching the scene, we all ran towards him without wasting a single moment and helped him up.

Panic and worry surrounded the atmosphere as our eyes looked for answers. We looked at each other and nodded before I asked,"What happened to you, your Majesty?"

My voice was low, as if I was trying not to hurt him by speaking out loud. He then looked at me and spoke a single sentence:

"A God...wants us to be his pawns in a war, as he feels like the war won't be exciting enough for him to see."

BACK TO PRESENT:-

Looking at the person in front of me, my blood boiled...the servants of the 'Gods'...an Angel came in front of me. I want to kill her, I know I can't touch a God but her...it shouldn't be that difficult. If I ever get such a chance, I will make sure to kill her as brutally as possible. For all the humiliations that those beings have given to our King, our race, she will pay in the worst way possible.

I then look at her, looking at me with a glare. Her hair, which was brown, has turned white, and white wings have surrounded her back with a trident in her hands that radiated out an unknown energy. Her eyes have turned azure with a shine in them.

My instincts are telling me to run. I want to escape; I want to run away...but I can't...I won't….not from this fight...if I am going to die today...it will be in this fight.

I then stare at her with a similar glare as I point my double-edged axe at her.

"Let's begin, you filthy being," I say as I look at her with my life on line.

LILITH'S POV:-

His eyes are glaring at me. His way of looking at me changed once he knew I was an angel. So, one of the Gods really is interfering in this war, eh? Looks like it is going to get more complicated. 

'Depending upon which God is involved in this war, it could either be messy or totally ridiculous.'

I wonder what plans Aether has for it. Honestly, I am looking forward to the surprises he will present to me.

" 'Even the highest Gods should be careful of my husband' was it? I wonder where your confidence stemmed from, Elaine. I really am looking forward to it," I think as I see the bull faced beastman attacking me.

Raising my hands, I look at him. Since you have seen my face, you must die, "[Hell Fire]" I speak in a low voice. His eyes widen at me, his expression seems really confused before he starts burning along with the surrounding space. I look at him, shouting as loud as he could, before he turns into ashes. I then turned towards the direction where I threw Phantasos. I change back from that of an Angel back to a human. Then observe Phantasos carefully.

I observe him for a few moments, as he is along with Icelos there. I then turn to the other side as I see the others fighting among themselves before I see the clear picture of everyone in this battle field...well, everyone except Morpehus.

'I wonder where he is right now.'

My eyes then turn to my darling, Lucifer, who seems to be trying to enjoy the war. Watching him trying his best, he seems really cute. Then…

He stops as his expression changes, and he starts looking in every direction. His eyes seem to be searching for something. My expression changes as I look at him, getting slightly agitated before his expression turns serious and he looks in the direction where Icelos and Phantasos are fighting. Then...I see him running towards that direction as fast as he can...no, that's not the only thing….he is using his [Devil Transformation] as well. 

'Just what could have…' my eyes then turn in the direction where he was running as I calculate what could have happened. Ladros shouldn't be someone on whom Lucifer needs to use his transformation, given the presence of Morpheus' Circles and Phantasos and Icelos presence.

'Then wha...no, it can't be…' my eyes get horrified at the possible answer to it as I look in the direction.

"[Angel Transformation]" I use my transformation as I, too, run in that direction.. If what I am thinking is right, then… Either Phantasos or Icelos is surely going to die here.
