Chapter 133: Twists And Turns

ICELOS' POV:-

-Clang

I hear the voice of a sword and a chained ball clashing as I observe a Lion Beastman and a Demon fighting against each other in front of me. Observing them for a few moments as they exchange their moves, I take a few steps back to hold my footing. 

"What's the meaning of this Demon King...no, it won't be right at this point to ask this, so let me get to the correct question. Why are you protecting that monster?" The Lion Beastman asks the Demon King as he glares at him with a terrified and desperate look. His eyes seem to be in a hurry as he observes my brother, Morpheus, lying down unconscious behind the Demon King.

Then a Fairy wielding flying chains in the air comes towards them laviating in the air as she looks at the Devil King before gulping and looking at brother.

Elf King, Geralt, also joins behind Demon King with a smile on his face.

Tension almost rises to the maximum before all of us, including me, get in between brother and the duo of Fairy and Lion Beastman. This is getting more and more odd-looking. I observe the faces of the people as they are turning back at my brother with fear in their eyes. 

'Was he really, brother?' I think as I look at him with a smile on my face. It seems to be quite odd in so many ways. 

First, his anger was totally unexpected...then the way he did things felt like he had lost control over his emotions...and then that name...Aether Somnus Rodriguez. Where did that come from? Who was he? Was he really our brother?

As if that wasn't enough, then another God came and kidnapped Corey...what is happening? If he wanted to kill us, then he could have done so. It's as if he came here to get Corey specifically.

My eyes get tired as my brain stops wondering what is right or wrong at this point. All I know is that my brother will return and he will solve everything. For now, we just have to keep him alive, even if some of us die in the process.

The duo of the fairy and the beast look at each other before looking at us. The Beastman once again asks, 

"Why? Can't you see what he is capable of? He is dangerous and you know it. I…used to think I could conquer this world someday...even if I can't, at least my clan can do it, but….if he is alive...I can't even be sure whether this world will be able to survive his anger. All of you know it, then why?" He asks with terrified and desperate eyes. 

People kept quiet about it and nobody spoke for the next few moments before.

"Because he is still dangerous," a voice comes from the other side as we both look in a certain direction.

'Who is he?' I think as I observe the muscular man with dark wings on his back and dark horns. His upper body was naked with tight muscles while he was wearing jeans on his lower body.

"You are late," I hear the Elf King moving forward and observe everyone else getting skeptical with the presence of the new guy. The other guy smiles and speaks. 

"If it wasn't this ugly, I wouldn't have even interfered. Can I see Aether?" 

The Elf King nods and the Devil guy moves toward brother before all the party members of Grim Verdict block his way.

"What are you doing here, the Devil King Damian?" I hear Kaneto speaking with an extremely angry expression as he looks at the Devil King.

Leaving a few people, everyone else, including me, was shocked to no end. 

'That guy is the Devil King? Just how many monsters have been collected in a single place today? ' my eyes widen in shock as I try to understand the situation.

"Lilith and Lucifer move aside," he says, and those two glare at him before moving away.

"Kaneto. It has been a while. Don't worry, I am here to help him. Can you please step aside?" He speaks again, and he too moves away, but his eyesight seems to be fixated on him.

"The others move out too," he again speaks and our body automatically starts moving aside. I tried my best to not to move but failed to do so.

'This is…just like that God from before…' my eyes widen as I look at the Devil King slowly moving towards brother then looking at him for a few moments as he sighs.

"He is okay. He will get back to normal in a few weeks, or maybe a few months, depending upon how fast he finishes 'that'. Looks like Zitherer finally met Aether. This is going to get messy from here on, huh? Well, I should get prepared for it too…" he speaks loudly before sighing and looking at the Elf King with a slightly sympathetic look.

"Looks like you got yourself in a rough situation," the Devil King speaks to the Elf King with the same look as before. 

The Elf King smiles a bit before speaking, 

"There are only a few things I can do about that. Sigh, to think a God would die this easily in front of him. It still is unbelievable to me."

The Demon King joins them with a questioning look. 

"You both seem to know that guy? Is there anything that I should keep in check and not do to stay on his safe side?" 

My eyes blink twice before I look at the Demon King who fears brother. 

'It really...is not a dream. To think that even Kings will fear my brother…' thinking this, only now it is starting to dawn on me that my brother has just killed a God in front of us and understand that, yeah, they genuinely need to be scared of him.

"To be on the safe side? Just find these two and he will give you the best treatment possible," the Elf King takes out the same figurines that brother asked him to search for.

The Beastman and the Fairy run as fast as they can towards the Elf King and I observe the figurines with a serious intent. They seem to be analysing those with as much intent as they can before nodding at it and then looking at the Elf King to explain further.

"Well...the story is quite simple actually…'' The Elf King then describes what happened in Eslaine and the promise brother made for those who will find those people and the consequences that people will be facing who will do harm to them.

Sweat trickled down everyone's faces when the word consequence and my brother were put together. Everyone nodded in their heart to protect these two with their lives.

"You don't need to be scared of that guy if you don't go against him. Honestly, he is the kindest and calmest soul ever-present and will always try to solve the situation as peacefully as he can. He might even go to lengths to help you if he deems you worthy enough to be saving. Though, if you harm someone close to him or get almost successful in killing his family members, then…" The voice of the Devil King trailed off as he seemed to remember something that brought a terrified expression on his face before he shrugs it off.

"Well, if I tell you anymore then he might get angry at that...or may be annoyed only, but I don't want to face any problems, however minor it may be. Also, I see traces of space magic and there seem to be members missing in your group. All I can tell you is that he is safe and do not worry about him. When Aether wakes up, tell him that 'joker is safekeeping it.' And he will understand. Honestly, I should not be telling you even this much, but I don't want that guy to go on another rampage right after he wakes up."

After that, all the Kings and the Queens vanish from there as if they never came. Everyone else looked at each other, confused at what to do next, before a voice came, 

"Everyone, get back to your kingdom. The war is over and nobody won."

Everyone stood there for a few moments before they started walking back to where they came from.

As they all moved, in the end all those who were left were us the members of Grim Verdict.

Lucy and Kaneto looked at each other before moving towards brother and picking him up and carrying him towards the castle.

"We need to talk," I hear Leraye...or Lucifer speaking to an Angel or Lilith as they look at each other. Lucifer has a complicated expression and Lilith is trying her best to avoid making eye contact with him but still nods as they both vanish from here. 

In the end, the only person that was left in the battlefield was me.

Surrounded by silence, I finally spoke my initial few words, 

"What the f*ck is going on?"
