Chapter 137: Twists And Turns#5

AMRIELLA'S POV:-

'I must kill him. He can't be left alive. I won't be able to live knowing that a monster like him is living in this world,' I thought as I flew towards the unconscious kid as fast as I could...

But then they came in between, all the members of that child's party came in between me and him. Looking at my left, I see the Beast King with a similar expression as mine.

'Looks like he too had the same idea,' I thought before pondering over if I should make a move or not. The chance of us winning against them is...zero. 

'But if I use my life force, I might be able to create an opening and let the Beast King kill the child.' Pondering over if I should take this chance and synchronise with the Beast King or not, I tried my best not to drag out the time we had left. 

The Beast King moved first and used a chain-mail like weapon but then it bounced back before it could reach the other side...that's when I realised, it was too late because someone else had joined the fray all of a sudden...the Demon King…also came in between us and the child. 

"What's the meaning of this Demon King...no, it won't be right at this point to ask this, so let me get to the correct question. Why are you protecting that monster?" The Beast King asks the Demon King as he glares at him with a terrified and desperate look. His eyes seem to be in a hurry as he observes the child lying down unconscious behind the Demon King.

"Why? Can't you see what he is capable of? He is dangerous and you know it. I…used to think I could conquer this world someday...even if I alone couldn't, at least my clan could have done it, but….if he is alive...I can't even be sure whether this world will be able to survive his anger. All of you know it, then why?" He asks with terrified and desperate eyes. 

People kept quiet about it and nobody spoke for the next few moments before.

"Because he is still dangerous," a voice comes from the other side as we both look in a certain direction.

I see the Devil King joining the battle or the confrontation between us before the possible battle. He moves towards the child and slowly talks to the party members of that child and also the Elf King before they all move aside.

The Devil King then speaks to the unconscious child and calls him by the name Aether.

'Wasn't the name of the leader of that party, Morpheus, or something?' I was slightly confused at this sudden change in the name.

Are we really talking about the same person and not about someone else? That could be a possible mistake…

Though, the Devil King looks really familiar with that child based on how is speaking. The Devil King speaks something incomprehensible before moving to another point and vanishing from there. 

'There are too many things going on here,' I think as I observe the situation slowly getting back to normal, although it still is ridiculous.

Then I reach where the other Kings have vanished and have a 'small talk' with them regarding our future plans. A few big secrets were also revealed by the Devil King about the Gods as he tried to warn us to stay away from the Demon continent, Laplace and its war.

After that, the Kings vanished from that place back to their respective positions. Thinking about my future plans, I realised that I should be glad that my race is still alive and not killed, but will it be alright for a monster like that child to roam freely on the surface of Visca? 

'I...wonder what Amyyl would have done.' I thought before going to the place where the Fairies were sleeping, unconscious. 

I looked at them for a few moments before channelling mana into my body and passing it onto them to wake them up.

'Even though this war is over, our workload has just increased. We need to prepare for something far worse than this now.' I think as I look back to our conversation.

If that monster is going to live here in Visca, then it would be better to be his ally rather than his enemy. A chill runs down my spine every time I think back about the fight between the child and that God.

"Amriellaaaaa…" I hear a familiar voice behind my back tapping me on my shoulders. I turned back, only to lose my balance and fall down on my back as I looked at that dumbfounded face of the person in front of me…

"Amyyl…?" I speak as I look at the over cautions girl standing in front of me with a bright smile on her face. 

"It's been a while, huh?" She speaks, scratching her cheeks slowly as she smiles at me.

"What…" my emotions took over me as black tears began to fall off my eyes. I observe her getting closer to me and finally hugging me tightly and consoling me

After a few minutes of crying, I finally look at her face once again as I begin to speak. 

"It's not a dream, is it?" 

"Nope! It's really, really me," she smiles as she answers. 

"B-but how?" I speak as I look at her. She smiles before speaking. 

"It was Aether or Morpehus, whatever you may call him. He is still there in that world saving so many other souls that are trapped in that God's playground or something," she speaks with an angry expression as she looks at me. Her eyes looked really furious before she recalls something and says, 

"Amriella, we need to prepare for a war that is going to happen in the next few years. The biggest war that has ever happened in the history of Visca," she speaks with a serious expression as she looks at me.

Noticing the seriousness in her voice, I nod at her before speaking, 

"Tell me everything that had happened there. I want to know everything from the start to the end."

COREY'S POV:-

I blacked out. In the middle of the war, someone came in front of me and touched me before speaking.

'What did he say again?' I try to remember what he said before finally recalling what he spoke, 

"Protect her with your life."

Yeah, that was what he said. Who is 'her'? And why did that guy, whatever he was or whoever he was, wanted me to protect 'her'? 

But….it also means that I am still alive and not dead yet. I wonder if my brothers and party members will be worried about me? Given my brother's personality, he might really go all out and start searching for me.

'Since searching isn't my speciality, I will focus on getting stronger and surviving in this mess.' I thought as I observed the black atmosphere slowly lighting up. It seems I am finally waking up...but how can I think when I have not even woken up yet? I wonder as I look at the giant monster fish in front of me.

'Where am I?' I think as I observe the surroundings, only to find a wide open sea around me. Currently lying down on the ship, which was in the middle of nowhere, I look around to observe the situation as I slowly get back up.

'Hmmm...a monster trying to eat the ship and a few adventurers trying their best to not let it get eaten. Well, pretty much normal I guess,' I think as I recall back to the days where we used to fight monsters as soon as we woke up during our party's travelling days. 

I yawn a bit before getting into a proper sitting position and raising my hands as I speak. 

"[Fire Magic: The hatred of Ifrit]" I slowly mumble as I nonchalantly burn the monster from top to bottom in a single flash. The monster dies and turns to ashes before it could get back to the sea.

'Well, with my brother's teaching, my mana proficiency in most of the elements has turned quite high. All I need to know is to find out how to use the Sun element properly.' I think as I look around, only to find the dumbfounded faces of the people looking at each other.

'Let's not get involved and stay hidden until we find something reliable to take shelter in,' is what I thought before…

"That was really something. Are you really a kid? My name is Aisha. What's yours?" I see a girl observing me with a curious gaze as I see her sitting on a couch drinking some kind of juice, enjoying the scenery. 

If I hadn't seen the monster and killed with my own power, I wouldn't really be having a hard time believing that someone was enjoying the previous scene.

'This girl...is dangerous..' Is the first thought that came into my mind when I first saw her.
