Chapter 32: Saviour Of The Devils?

"No," the Pixie Queen rejects her request without any hesitation.

Aria's(Devil) face then turns dumbfounded. Soon she gets serious and asks,

"Aria...Do you want your race to go extinct?"

She threatens the Pixie Queen.

She has a fierce aura covering her body and the surrounding Devils and Pixies are experiencing difficulty in breathing.

"It is not at a calibre at which you can refuse this order. It's about the future of my entire race. I have waited for this day for over 50years. This is the only chance or else all the devils will perish in the future. I can't let you take that chance away, Aria. Even if I have to erase one or two races from this world, I will do so if it is for the sake of my own race. So tell me Aria, will you give him your blessing or not?" Aria(Devil) explains her situation with a murderous aura in her eyes

Overall the gist of it is that, if I don't get the blessing, someone will be f***ed up.

'Interesting'

The Pixie Queen looks at Aria with an expressionless face then looks at me,

"Ignoring the part about whether he can get the blessing or not, with how much mana he has right now, the most important question is what blessing should I give him? Even if I give him the most basic blessing, he can't use it." She speaks to Aria(Devil) about the reason why she had said 'no.'

Aria then gets silent as she retracts her aura and starts pondering over the issue as she observes me.

'This is getting nowhere,' I think as I observe the situation around me.

"Why do I need to get the blessing? I mean I won't reject it but why does it have to be me? And the part about saving the devils? And them going extinct? You were waiting for me for over 50years? I don't remember any promises I made that long before, heck I wasn't even born at that time. Are you sure it is me? Many things are missing in your conversation, care to explain to me about it."

I speak what is on everyone's mind.

The others including the Devils nod at my question.

Don't keep us in suspense now, will you?

She then looks at me dumbfounded...then she takes out her tongue playfully expressing that she forgot about it.

It isn't cute you know?

And...She is already treating me like her saviour, isn't she?

Anyways she then starts explaining the whole story in detail.

There are basically 3 points to remember:-

1. 50years ago she saw a prophecy using all of her powers, for the devil race and what she saw was the Pixie Queen who had the same name as her will give a blessing to someone.

2. That someone becomes important to the devils from the very core and saves them from dying.

3. She believes that person is supposed to be me but there is no way to find out the exact identity.

I look at her and start pondering over the issue after that

" What if isn't me but someone else? What will you do then?" I ask her what is on my mind.

She replies," I haven't met anyone else who qualifies to be that person. Plus you are too much of an anomaly to this world, so my decision is firm."

"Why do you think I would willingly help you and save the devils when I already have so much on my plate right now?" I ask the next question.

"Despite being a human, you don't seem to hate us. If you don't know, right now in most of the races, devils have a kill on site order on them. The fact you didn't kill anyone here confirms it. Plus I believe my prophecies more than I believe in myself." She answers.

"I did that because I wanted to implant fear in you guys without getting my hands dirty, spreading my party's name is also important. Also, one last question, why do you think someone as strong as me would need a blessing?" I ask her.

"I don't know, it was in the prophecy so maybe you will need it in the future." She answers.

I just gained a fanatic, didn't I?

I look at her then...

"What would I get in return for helping the devils? I am not a hero who is going to save everyone. But I am an adventurer, so that is why negotiations are still possible. Plus I am a just person, so even if I help you guys, I am not going to turn into a cruel murderer who kills others for money. Also, think before you answer because everything depends on your answer." I tell her my conditions.

She was going to say something but then stops and ponders over it before answering,

"Anything. If you can save the devils, we can give you anything you want." She declares. Her eyes are determined and her expression is firm.

I smile at her,

"I won't ask for much. If I want something, then I'll be counting on you. I don't really need anything right now though but based on my personality I might end up starting a war. I will need you to bring as many of you as you can at that time. That's all," I say shamelessly contradicting myself and indirectly asking for 'everything'.

".." She looks at me for a few seconds before responding,

"Hahaha...okay, if you really save the devils, even our King will come at your call." She speaks something that huge too casually.

".." I could only keep quiet at that remark.

Then I turn at the Pixie Queen,

"At the quest requested by the Pixies, I am here to rescue you. But it looks like the difficulty has slightly increased and we had to put our life in danger in order to get here, so doesn't 10 gold as a reward seems very less to you? So Pixie Queen, Aria, tell me...what can you give me for saving your life?" I initiate a deal with the Pixie Queen.

".." She and the others look at me dumbfounded.

"If I really have to get a blessing from you, then give me the blessing of Mana Eyes," I ask thinking about what I need right now.

Mana Eyes: A passive skill that requires minimal mana but you have to be at least an apprentice mage to activate it. Taking it in the form of a blessing would be stupidity for anyone else, but for me, it is more or less tailor-made.

'Well, it's not like I can't use mana eyes, it's just that I can't use it simultaneously with my other skills.'

'And if I am not wrong, blessings are induced mutations of human body parts to use mana from nature without expending mana from your own body.'

Her eyes lit up before getting confused then finally showing an understanding expression.

'Sigh...there she goes again changing so many expressions?'

"Ah! there is that blessing too," Aria(Devil) speaks with an ecstatic expression.

"Okay, I will give you that blessing. What is your name my saviour?"Aria(Pixie Queen) asks with a smile on her face.

Aria(Devil) opens the gate of the cell hurriedly.

"Morpheus," I speak moving closer to her.

"Then Morpheus, close your eyes," she instructs.

The others get closer to get a better look, they too want to see a miracle taking place. They are expecting something extraordinary to happen.

I close both my eyes, then I felt a kiss on my left eye and then on my right eye.

"Oh beloved of Nature! Let nature nurture you. Let it shine the light of the heavens on you. May you be the one that sees what's true. And see everything that is a lie. Blessing of The Pixie Queen, [Mana Eyes]," she chants.

The air starts revolving around us. The mana surges. The area starts glowing and soon the glow fades.

Opening my eyes, I see Aria(Devil) creating a mirror in front of me.

A pair of greenish hazel eyes are visible in the place of previously brown coloured eyes.

"Charm +2," I mutter with a smile on my face.
