Chapter 60: [Epilogue-Ark 1]-Morpheus Somnus(7)

KARINA'S POV:-

Zwain shakes his head as he puts his hand on it with a helpless expression as he speaks, "Morpheus, you bastard...just what are you trying to do?"

I turned to look at Zwain. Morpheus? Do I know someone like that? Who is he? Before I could get any more answers an arrow flew straight at Adolphus. It was a lethal arrow that should have killed him in one shot but then someone deflected the shot.

My eyes shrunk, my heartbeat increased to the max and my body started feeling numb. This...What is she doing here? I have heard about her in stories. One of the three strongest Supreme Devils ever-present in this world. The walking calamity, someone strong enough to even kill 3 or 4 Royal Mages all by herself.

Her long white hair reached her waist. Wearing a black dress with a scythe in her hands that made her look like a death god who is on a hunt. My body started screaming to run away. I don't want to die, not yet, I still have to complete promises that I made to the King, not yet.

Soon two Elves join the fray. One of them is Royal Elf Prince, Istan and the other one is Savanna, the 3rd branch of Alfheim. We must kill her, there is no better time than this, with three Elves having infinite mana and a Royal Mage like me it surely must be possible. Let me just deal with Adolphus and we can all focus on that Devil.

But before I can react, Adolphus joined our side. How can they trust our enemy? Someone who was just trying to kill us a moment ago? Well, it doesn't matter, I'll just kill him after this mess is over. Anyone who has shown hostility to me does not deserve to live. Mercy is for the weak, it will only lead you to demise. Arlington joined us too. Well, guess I will kill him too along with Adolphus.

We all attacked Unia at once with one of the strongest attacks. But since I have to kill the other two, I had to hold back. But...before the attack could reach Unia, someone appeared in between the Elf Prince and Unia. He, that 'child', held Zwain's blade with his one hand effortlessly. All our attacks vanished as if never existed. This...who is he?

Soon, my question was answered. He was Morpheus, the 'child' who saved Princess Lia and also made Unia his underling. Unia isn't the only one, there were a few more strong people who were following that 'child'.

How? How is he so strong? I can't sense even an ounce of mana coming from him. How can he control someone as dangerous as Unia? Why? My mental stability was crumbling. I started chanting a Domain spell.

But he just erased it like it was nothing. How? My eyes shook. He ignored me as if I were not worth his time and moved to Adolphus then erased his soul contract as easily as if it were breathing to him. What Adolphus told was even more shocking,

"He is going to attack Alfheim in 6 months from now, along with Royal Demon Nergal," Adolphus spoke with a serious expression. But what shocked me, even more, was the fact that Morpheus revealed that he was going to kill Ladros. Then what about Unia? Huh? I thought my eyes were playing me but that Devil, Unia was smiling when it was revealed that she has changed his position from Ladros to Morpheus. Just... What??!!

This is....ridiculous. Then he moved towards Arlington and after a few exchanges, Arlington lost his consciousness.

-Whoosh

A dense wave of mana spread throughout Eslaine. Tracing the direction, it came from the centre of the Sacred Tree. Such dense mana indicates the presence of another powerhouse within this city. Soon Morpheus vanished and everyone else including me followed him towards the centre of the core.

At the Core, what I found made me once again wonder if what I'm looking at is an illusion or not. Another kid, wearing the same clothing as Morpheus, was healing the Sacred Tree all by himself...On looking carefully, he was...gaining enlightenment? What!!?? At that age? I still remember my first enlightenment was at the age of 12 and people called me a genius.

'If I were a genius...then what does it makes that child? How old is he? He doesn't look like he has even crossed 10years in age.' I once again look at Morpheus before looking back at that kid. 'Just, from where did these monsters have popped up?' Who are they..No...What are they?

As if that wasn't enough, Morpheus moved forward towards that kid and did something...he did something ridiculous...again. He enhanced the amount of mana...that ridiculous amount of mana that the child was giving out was...enhanced by 5 no 6 times at least.

Then all of a sudden the mana that was outflowing, started to suck back inside to that kid. 'Just...What?!!' Then Morpheus started condensing that mana in front of us. My eyes widened again because...he was...that monster was creating a mana sword...right here...right now.

Mana swords or more precisely Mana weapons as the name suggests are made out of pure mana. They are one of the highest grades of weapons one can find in this world. They're so sharp that those weapons generally could cut even through the strongest barriers and shields as if it was some paper. There are 18 mana weapon makers in this world to exist and this is the first Human mana weapon maker I have seen or even heard of in my entire life.

COREY'S POV:-

I can feel Light right behind me. Brother is helping me channel my mana and guide it to achieve the most desirable result. Just like...always?

Ah! I finally remember what happened back when I was lost from our house for more than 3weeks. 'My memories returned!!!' Then why it was blocked...ah!

(Light: I'll be locking your memories for now. When you will get the next enlightenment or a power boost that will make you strong enough to defend yourself at least against a High Devil all by yourself, only then you'll remember everything that had happened here. Until then, it is better not to remember what happened. Both for your safety and of those around you.)

'It was Light!! Well, he was always like that.' A smile forms on my face as I think about what Light said to me back then,

Determination fills my eyes as I start to take as much as I can from this moment. All my circles have been unlocked, if I remember correctly this process should have been painful...but for some reason, it was...soothing. Must have been brother again.

Channelling the incoming mana I 'purify' each and every inch of my body at once. I recall the teaching Light gave me about Dark Magic. 'Since Light and Dark are opposite, let's flip whatever he said.' I fill my body and heal each and every part of my body. My body became more and more defined and accustomed to storing Light Mana in them. It also became easier to control the Light mana within my body.

Soon after a few hours, everything turned white. I looked around to find myself in an empty space. The white background stretched as long as I could see. 'What is this place?' I thought as confusion took over me. A few moments later a slimy substance started growing out of nowhere in front of me, which soon took the shape of a human...more precisely me...but older...around the age of 15years. After that looking at me with a warm smile he moved forward one step at a time.

"When you meet Mercilus...." he spoke as his smile turned into that of an ice cold one with his expression as angry as possible, but he still maintained his expression to not end up crumbling it,"...kill him the worst way possible or you might end up regretting your whole life. Also, tell Aether...They are safe."

Then before I could answer him, he stroked my head slightly that...changed something inside me...I can't exactly pinpoint it but something definitely changed inside me.

Then I slowly lost consciousness...or maybe gained consciousness as I woke up to find myself outside the Sacred Tree.

And Two extremely strong individuals, an Elf...that looked like King of Elves!!! and a man...who looked exactly similar to the King of Sol Kingdom!!! Standing at a distance looking at me. And Light, standing in front of me with a slightly...annoyed expression?
