After a morning tryst with Himiko, I took a shower and have the maids help me put on dark blue pants and a white collared shirt. A maid with short hair and small eyes went closer to my face with a red tie in her hands. I stared at her fair complexion as she fiddled with my neck. I raised my hands as an older maid replaced the short-haired maid's place, she gently dragged the soft grey vest down to fit in well with the white shirt. 

"Has Himiko left for the tower?" I asked the short-haired maid as she come back with a dark blue jacket in her hands.

"Yes, she did a moment ago when the young master was in the bathroom."

I see. Did she delay her departure because she want to spend more time with me? that silly maid...

I shook my head at her cute antics and went out, waiting for the car. But the driver comes out without driving his car. He bowed and apologized profusely.

"F-Forgive me, young master! The cat! It's the cat!"

"Calm down, tell me what's wrong. Slowly..."

"The cat... I was fixing the car when the cat went i-inside a-and it messed with the car when I was not looking."

He bowed once again.

I don't understand how can a cat messes with car parts until it's stopped working. Is that even catly possible?

I sighed, and he trembled.

"How long does it takes to repair the car?"

"U-Um, I need about... 20 minutes to fix the damage, I'm sorry!"

"Hey, it's okay. What about the other car?"

"Uh...they're still under... maintenance."

"Seriously?"

"Y-Yes! I'm sorry!"

Haa this is stink. How can I go to school without a car? Should I skip today?

The thought crossed my mind but I'm in the mood of going to school. I'm pretty sure I can get to school on time if I do a serious dash.

Nah, I can just take my time on my way to school. Take a stroll while enjoying the beautiful morning scenery... Sounds good enough. Getting late once in a while is not that bad.

Now that I think about it, this is the first time I went out alone without an escort. I can't help but get excited. 

I walked out of the mansion with a skip in my steps, all the while ignoring the panicked driver as he watched his young master going out alone without an escort. Despair was plastered all over his face.

The Wallenstein family manor is quite big. On foot, I need five minutes jog laced with quirk enhancement to reach the large gate protecting the Wallenstein manor from unwelcome guests.

The breeze brushed past my cheeks as I moved faster than humanly possible. The breeze, they're a friendly bunch and I like their company. So refreshing and nice. But they turned their back on me when I accelerated the speed of my jog into a full mad dash. The gentle friend I thought I had suddenly became ferocious and started to slash their knife at me.

The once 5 minutes jog ended before thirty seconds even passed.

As I get closer to the gate, I accelerated my steps even further. I tensed my lower legs and jumped.

It was higher than an adult man, but my body flew over the gate with ease. While mid-air, I saw a woman walking her dog. Our eyes met and she opened her mouth wide in shock.

When she was over her astonishment, the boy's back could barely be seen as he run into the distance.

"Pesu, what in the world happened just now..."

"Woof woof~"

"You too, huh?"

"Nee-chan spotted~"

"Kyaa!" The girl jumped in fright. 

The tension disappeared soon after seeing it was just her brother. She hides behind Pesu and glared at her brother. "Stop doing that!"

Her brother grinned teasingly, "If nee-chan stops talking to the dog, then I might reconsider it."

She humped, "In your dreams!"

The boy shrugged, "Right, nee-chan. Do you know that boy just now?"

"Nope, I was hoping to get to know the neighbors today. I guess I missed the timing."

The boy rolled his eyes, "Why you good girl. There's no need to bother doing something like that. I bet it won't take more than one year before we move out again."

"You're always like that. That's why you don't have a friend."

He pouted, "I don't need a friend. Oh right, that boy's uniform just now is the same as yours isn't it?"

"Yup, today I'm officially a student of Segakuin High. So I might meet him later at school." The pink-haired girl smiled.

I slung my bag over my shoulder and dashed along the lonely road. We're on a private road, so other than the rich owners of the land, meaning my neighbors, no random vehicles or cabs would use this road. This place is also a bit isolated from the main road by a small forest. Ah, even though I say forest, no wild animals or predators are wandering around the area. At least, as far as I know. I never meet them, so they shouldn't exist. But wouldn't be surprised if there are some though.

If I keep up this pace and follow the road according to my memory, I'll reach school on time. But suddenly I feel like doing something fun when I saw the trees around me. I eyed the forest with interest. There's something I want to try anyway.

And this might be a rare opportunity to mess around without someone spoiling the mood. I grinned and went off the road toward the bundle of trees swaying beside the street. 

With a bit of enhancement, I leaped and landed on a thick branch. I took a moment to balance myself. Then I repeated it a couple of times. I leaped from one tree to another... 

Swish~ Swish~ 

Just like shinobi, I feel the rush coming to me as I started to leap between trees. It's like another version of parkour. My happiness bar keeps rising. It's so fun and exciting! 

However there is some hiccup along the way, not all trees have reachable branches that won't give up on my growing weight. So, sometimes I have to stop for a moment to search for a good one among the pack while avoiding the duds. 

Ten minutes into the fun, I finally run out of Lucky Points by stepping into a dud. But rather than break my fall, I used that split moment to do another leap before it completely snap.

I landed on another branch, and barely managed to hold my balance. But a couple of thick foliage brushes past my cheek, coating them with dirt. 

Damn, I'm so unlucky. It also went into my mouth! I spat out my saliva again and again until the dirt took off from my mouth. Before I could wipe my lips with a handkerchief, I feel something bit my neck. I flinch and cry out in pain.

"Sh*t moth*rfu*ker!"

"I can't believe my luck. Damn, these annoying suckers!" I hopped down and dusted the little suckers away from me. I hate ants with passion.

I put my bag down and swung my jacket around just in case. My mood went down fast.

Maybe this is not a good idea after all. It sounds cool and all until it bites you in the ass.

I was no longer in the mood to play around so I whisked to the ground level and jogged through the forest while avoiding bushes and other weird-looking scrubs. 

Before long, the forest ended and I let out a sigh of relief. Let's followed the road obediently. Yup, just like a normal student.

"Mama, mama~! why is he jumping out from the tree like a monkey?"

"Shh! baby, don't look at him."

"But mama~!"

"Let's go, baby. Mama will buy you an ice cream."

"Really?! Yatta! go! let's go!"

"..."

Nope, I'm not offended. Not at all. He's just a child. A foolish child. I can't expect much from the likes of him. Yeah, I had a better thing to do. 

The mansion was on the other side of the commercial district. It is only separated by a small forest. So I only need to cross the forest to reach this place. I quickly blended into the crowd, but it proves to be quite problematic. Plenty of people seem to be glancing at me as I walk along the sidewalk. Why? Is there some leaf or bugs on my face? I don't get it, but it did make me uncomfortable.

I want to walk all the way to school. But who knows when I reach school by walking. I need something fast, a bus or preferably a cab...

Beep~ Beep~

Would you look at this. I haven't finished my words and the world already delivered the ride for me to take. I feel blessed by the world.

A bus immediately passed by me, even from here I could hear the incessant chatters of children with some screams, yells, and cries mixed in. Another girl screamed and an egg come out flying from the window and landed on a passerby's boot.

Splat~

"Hey, bastard!! Come down here!" The man with a beanie looked so pissed that he smashed his hand against the signpost, causing it to bent sideways. His face immediately morphed into an oops expression as he realized what he did. He glanced to the side and saw a police officer holding a black baton glaring at him. The man dropped his cigar and run away from the scene.

I was so distracted that I missed the bus. Nah, screw the bus. A cab is better. But, how do I reserve a cab again? I had never taken one before. My gaze trailed around the shops and cafes, looking for a normal person to inquire about the know-how. 

Wait, are they gambling? I saw some tough guys marching into a gambling house. Yup, I'm not mistaken. They are called Nanami Gambling Den. Is this shop for real? right in the morning? It's not even nine o'clock yet though? Am I stranded in an alien world? This is too weird. Or I'm the weird one.

I shook my head and took out my phone. After passing the fingerprint scanner, I tapped the Giggle app at the bottom of the screen and typed 'how to reserve a taxi' in the search bar.

I clicked the uppermost link and was immediately directed to a site with a boatload of unrelated nonsense. 

Uhum. I skim the article for the important bits and ignored the rest. It turns out it's quite simple. There's an app for this kind of thing and I just need to download the guy. Another minute went by and I finally managed to order a cab. Ohh... What is this sense of achievement I feel in my chest?

The hard part is done, I just need to wait for the cab to arrive. But due to some issue, I need to wait for another ten minutes. 

Haaa... I swear today might be my most unlucky day yet. Nothing went smoothly.

Ten minutes is too long to waste standing by the sidewalk. I looked around the shops before stopping upon an eye-catching name.

May Queen Cafe

The name alone picks up my interest. Without hesitation, I pushed the door open and went inside. A delicious aroma of coffee instantly assaulted my nose. Ohh nice, I can feel the tension on my body start to loosen. I like this place already.

"Welcome to May Queen~"

A familiar voice greeted my ears.
