It was just another ordinary day in the forest, spiritual energy coursing through all places in the world, making it feel vibrant and full of life. The plants were flourishing like they always did, and the Hongzhuangniao birds, the love tyrants of the area, were gearing up for yet another mating season. Although by now, the mating season had turned into an extravagant celebration in the heart of the forest.

But different from expectations, this year the territory of the Hongzhuangniao birds remained completely silent. The cause, something was wrong with their sacred rock, and the birds, who have been "protecting" it for 100 years, and were extremely familiar with it's aura, detected it immediately, they sensed that something was about to change.

And change it did, the transformation was instantaneous. As the flock of birds watched in awe, the rock's aura suddenly contracted, reverting the rock's appearance to that of a common red crimson pebble, just as it was when it first arrived in this world. But somewhat different, now it was more round, as a bright red rock pearl.

But before they could investigate, drops of crimson red liquid began to fall from the rock - one, two, three - and although it appeared to be blood, it didn't smell like blood, in fact, to the birds, it carried the most delightful aroma they had ever encountered.

Soon, the bird closest to the rock went into a frenzy, lunging at it and frantically trying to devour the rock. This triggered a domino effect as the other birds in the flock joined in, each trying to snatch the rock from one another. The skirmish quickly escalated into a full-blown fight involving the entire flock.

In the chaos of the fight, the rock was accidentally dropped into a nearby pond and swallowed by a small fish that was swimming by.

To the fish, it was a stroke of luck, as if its favorite food had just fallen from the sky. But for the birds, it was as if the world was ending, their frenzy intensified as they saw their most beloved possession fall into the water, causing them to cry for hours on end.

Meanwhile, as the fish's digestive system tried process the rock without succeding, and as always, the rock continued to absorb anything in its surroundings, and with its recent breakthrough, the rock also started to release a red liquid.

A liquid that any alchemist would be surprised to discover, enough to make them a powerhouse in their kingdom, after all, this liquid was an undiscovered variety of spiritual energy, blood spiritual energy.

Minutes after devouring the delicious pebble-sized candy, the fish started to feel a strange sensation in its stomach. It was as if something was being constantly absorbed though its stomach, filling its body with an invigorating energy that made it feel invincible. The fish even had an hallucination of killing the serpent that had taken its father's life, with just a slap of its fin.

Initially, the fish was on its way back to its humble mud base in the little pond to sleep, but this newfound energy sparked an insatiable hunger to explore more of the nearby lake. So, it made a 180-degree turn and swam back towards the lake through a large subterranean river. Within just five minutes, the fish returned to the lake, ready to attack any algae that dared to cross its path.

Unfortunately, being one of the weakest creatures in the lake meant that the fish's overly adventurous behavior, devouring all algae that encountered its path, clearing a large portion of the benthic zone clean, made it stand out to a nearby serpent that was hunting for fish. And in a rapid surprise attack, the serpent devoured the fish in just one bite.

The fish's flavor was a mixture of algae and a familiar scent, similar that old fish the serpent had eaten years ago, delicious.

The serpent didn't spend too much time thinking about the flavor of the fish; it just knew that it was tasty and having a full stomach made it feel lethargic. So, the serpent headed towards its little cave at the bottom of the lake after a good day of hunt. However, the serpent didn't know that this would turn out to be a horrible decision.

One of the most distinctive properties of the pebble is its ability to absorb and refine substances in its surroundings into blood spiritual energy, inside the fish, it started absorbing all the algae the fish devoured and because the fish was small, the blood spiritual energy the rock generated caused the fish to have almost infinite energy, in truth the fish wasn't absorbed by the rock thanks to constantly eating algae. Another stroke of luck.

In the case of the serpent however, after absorbing all the fish carcasses inside the snake, this absorption did not stop, and so the rock started to absorb the stomach it was on, the snake realized some minutes later that something was wrong. It felt as something inside its stomach was trying to make a hole through its skin, causing extreme pain while doing it, so the snake desperately tried to vomit everything up. Wich was successful, but not fast enough as the rock did make a hole through the skin, small, but big enough to let the snake bleed to its dead for 15 agonizing hours.

In the end, the fish got vengeance for its father, at the cost of its life, but vengeance nonetheless, and as the pebble sinked inside the snakes cave, it continued absorbing anything on its surroundings including the spiritual energy of the water nearby, slowly dripping blood spiritual energy for the next 10,000 years.
